- We have been asked to do a Video on our weekly weighing of our Guinea Pigs - so here it is. We have had a good think on what we think are the benefits of weighing ours and we want to share our thoughts with you.
We've also added a couple of extra points and also explained how we weigh them......which is just an opportunity for Mercury to look VERY CUTE indeed ! This wasn't posed.
We started weekly weighing ALL our Guinea Pigs from October 2018.
We recorded this on Sunday 16th June 2024 : we thought this would be both an interesting and informative video to show everyone. We welcome ALL Questions in the Comments - we'd love to know if you also weigh your Guinea Pigs - please do tell us in the Comments ?

Our pleasure! That is awesome - even every fortnight. I weighed all ours even when we briefly reached 37 !!! That was only for a few weeks, but took ages..........
I shall inform camera-lady that her efforts were appreciated. She moans like crazy when I ask her to film, but it is better with the two of us bouncing along with the banter ! We are both SO PLEASED to help - that's what it is all about - everyone learns tips and info from everyone. Great video, great tips!! Your piggies are SO CHUNKY, LOL, I got a scale at Bed Bath and Beyond for a bit over 15.00$, U.S., and it's a great Sharper Image brand. Very easy to do, and they get used to it too! How sweet their faces are, you're a great owner to do educational videos, you can really motivate owners, especially younger teens, to properly care for piggies! Grass eating piggies are very healthy, I heard that from another rescue, and it seems to be true! As you also just said, it's very nutritious. I love the ginger and white PIGGY, and the blonde lilac, just gorgeous and so gentle looking!

I always weigh my guinea-pigs. l find it a good indication of there health.l have 6 males 2 unwanted pets that are 2 years old there my adults.2 brothers 7 months old l call them my toddlers & then 2 more brothers 5 months old they are my tiddlers! there very cheeky boys & mischievous too ... ❤
That is utterly AWESOME !!!!!!! Wow, 6 boys. I took Figaro in to see my wife when he got picked up off the grass, he got a chin tickle !! Weighing is a good thing to do. I used to do it for 6 years or so when I had Guinea Pigs many years ago. Figaro is quite cheeky as well.

I want to buy a scale and a baking bowl to weigh Sol & Luna. They are so old (6 & 7 years) but I never weighed them before 😳 only the vet has!

Mercury is sensational with her colours - and she is the mum of Storm !
If you check out our older Shorts dated 2018/19 - you will see a grey piggy called Plato who looks very similar to Mercury.....she was the Great Grandmother.
