@GarageBuiltAthlete In general it works for me as well, except recovery chart doesn't work at all :-(. Nobody answers my mails in the customer services. I thought maybe some general system error. Very annoying.

@@JP-gj6qm that is frustrating! There are occasions where some of the features don't work but they soon get fixed after a few minutes or hours I don't think I've had any issues that lasted more than a day. Have you tried updating/reinstalling the app?

@@GarageBuiltAthlete Yes, it happened with me as well that something didn't work, but than next day it was ok. Even then I wrote to customer service and they answered. But now I have this issue for like 2 months. First it stopped showing recovery from 1st October, but now I see all historical data is gone for that kpi. Which is far less annoying, than the fact that they ignore all emails :-|

Hi thanks for watching and for your comment. I don't have much experience of natural alternatives to keep the water clean. I would recommend washing yourself before using the ice bath as the cleaner you are the cleaner the water will be, including wiping your feet before getting in as bits get transferred from the floor to the tub from your feet. You could also look into getting a water filter and pump, this would clean the water without chemicals - you can get chiller units that do this also. Me too! Every morning. I had a nurecover one the same as this but was a ball ache sorting out ice and cleaning and refilling. Just upgraded to a 500l oak barrel with Myomaster chiller, couldn’t recommend enough!

@@michaelwardle4547 the myochill is something I've been considering as summer temperatures have my chest freezer struggling to turn around the bottles of water each day. How do you find the chiller on your electricity bill?

@@GarageBuiltAthlete not much at all if I’m honest. I switch the chiller on before bed so it’s on with the filter working overnight, ice bath at 5.30am and turn it back off. I use bromine tablets in the water also. It’s more than worth it and if ice baths are a regular thing for you then 100% I’d say switch it up

Thanks for the info Michael, the water circulation whilst in the tub makes it feel extra cold. I last did one at 5⁰c and it was the longest 2.5 minutes of my life 😂

Hi thanks for watching and for your question. I change the water and give it a clean approximately every 6-8 weeks in colder months. When it gets warmer it needs changing more regularly bacteria tends to build up faster when the temperature increases. I hope that helps!

Hi Scott thanks for watching and for your question. I'll try to answer it as best as I can, we use Celsius in the UK so forgive me if my Fahrenheit conversion is a little off. The temperature of water in my tub currently sits at around 14⁰c/57⁰f. I used approx 22litres/6 us gallons of ice to get the temperature down to around 8⁰c/46⁰f. The temperature outside is currently 17⁰c/63⁰f The hotter your outside temp the more ice you are going to need. There will be a limit on how much ice you can put into the tub before the water starts spilling out or you won't have enough water to get yourself fully immersed. Unless you want to get in with the ice as well, I don't do that as I use frozen plastic bottles full of water which I refreeze after each use. I hope that is helpful.

Yes you can keep them outside, it will definitely keep it colder but will get messy from the elements so make sure you keep a cover on it or have it under a covered area if you can 👌

The valve is pretty good on the rim of the tub, it doesn't let air out when I inflate it there is a small black self sealing part of it inside the mouth piece which takes care of that. Occasionally I will need to reinflate it as air eventually leaks, perhaps you have a faulty valve on your tub? It may be worth contacting Nurecover about that. Definitely worth having it fully inflated so it seals better with the lid and keeps the cold in 🤙

Hey Will, thank you for watching and commenting. I don't use any pumps or filters (yet) sorry I don't have any recommendations but I have seen you can get various types of chiller units that cool the water, circulate it and filter it in one! The good thing about circulating the water would mean it breaks the thermal layer and gets that extra uncomfortable factor for longer. If you find a good recommendation for a pump please come back and let us know about it!

With the chlorine, does the water smell strongly of chlorine? My wife is on at me to make the pod as natural as possible, so I'm wondering if chlorine or food grade hydrogen peroxide would be better. Thanks again

Initially the chlorine smell is strong as I make it up in a small jug of water then stir it into the tub. But from then I would say no, it isn't a strong smell. You can go completely treatment free if your wife wants to empty, clean and refill the tub every couple of days you are onto a winner 😂😉

@@GarageBuiltAthlete Chlorine, pH, Alkalinity. When one is off it throws the others off too. I just drained and added water until it tested more towards normal (it was still on the high end but closer to normal). How are you not getting dry skin using that much? Or maybe the granules you have are a different concentration.

It could be you have stronger chemicals, I don't have any problems with dry skin and the chlorine smell is there but not strong with the amount I use. I once put in around 3 heaped teaspoons in when I refilled the tub to see what difference that would make to the life of the water, that made me itchy so I knew that was too much 😂

Why not try hydro peroxide, choline dryed my skin out .

Hey thanks for commenting, I've not looked into Hydrogen Peroxide, I thought that was for dying your hair 😂 I haven't had any issues with chlorine drying out my skin but it must be a common thing. Have you found the hydrogen peroxide is a better option than chlorine?

Hey thanks for watching! I picked up a small chest freezer this week as the temp in the tub was getting to 12⁰c and will seeing how effective it is to bring the temp down and how many blocks are needed to do it. The chiller set ups seem good, a bit on the pricey side for me right now which is why I went for the freezer + I can put ice-cream in it 😂

Fingers crossed it will continue to evolve and progress 🤞
