I’ve just got back into collecting Transformers for the first time since the Beast Era ended and AliExpress has been an absolute godsend! For both official Hasbro/Takara Tomy toys as well as third-party ko figures. One interesting point about eBay that I noticed recently on holiday (I’m from the UK too), was just how much we don’t get coming up as options to purchase - presumably because of Brexit red tape. It’s astounding actually, in terms of both what is being offered and how much for.

I wonder if these mini bots scale well with the Masterpiece line .

I am quite a young person in terms of TF toys, my first experience was watching Armada and seeing how cool Starscream was. At the time however it was seen as a childish hobby to collect them despite how well articulated they were for the cost at the time but teens and young adults who their parents who saw G1 pestered how cool it was didn't wanna be like them so the generation in the 90s and early 2000s felt that it was pointless to enjoy such a silly things since they saw anything old as "outdated" and "boring" and that really hit me since my dad loved watching G1 and got me into it but my friends and bullies found it stupid. Many years later to today, with my finances doing me a good favor I finally looked at them and was impressed that they were redoing the G1 with great accuracy and even some of the Armada toys so i got back into collecting them once more and even made friends online and offline in the real world with co-workers who share the same hobby. Some groups like Lego or TCG collectors were a hobby but it turned into a strange cut-throat market and that really bummed me out but i don't have to worry about a G1 Coronation Starscream release jumping high in value or people beating down and robbing collectors of their Bumble Bee movie Shockwave or even the Target exclusive Optimus Prime. Thanks guys, I am glad to rejoin the TF space and not only love the collecting but you guys are so chill and it makes me happy.

I'm only 25, but I've been collecting since 2007 and most of what I own is original G1 and Masterpiece. It's really interesting to see how most people getting into the fandom again go straight to the modern mainline stuff. It does seem to be the most accessible!

He's like the same size as the original Ultra Magnus toy, if you wanna see the comparison, you can check out That Toy Guy's video on G1 Magnus where he compares the two in both robot and vehicle mode. There's also an image out their comparing the new 86 optimus with Magnus, and the trucks are the same size, and with the trailer, are pretty much the same length.

I re-started my Transformers collections just few months ago thanks to Studio Series 86 line, main reason to me was that I always wanted toys that matched what I watched on TV, scale, accuracy were factors that pushed me so hard into getting into this again. I have no regrets at all, just want one of each character, that's all, but it has to be almost perfect.... I am confident that WFC, Legacy and SS are making this possible at last! ... till all are one

I just started collecting G1 from my childhood. Blaster, Soundwave and Brawn. I still have G1 Optimus Prime but only the figure and not the Trailer. I seen the Missing Link C-01 Optimus that looked Exactly like my old Optimus, trailer and all. I picked it up and couldn't be happier. I'm hoping for a Missing Link Soundwave. Nothing compares to the OG G1 toys imo.

The shoulderpads, crown and cape were pretty cool for SS86 Coronation Starscream, but the throne... that throne was definitely unnecessary. They should of used the remaining leader class budget to retool him so they could actually make him look like in the movie instead.

I bought a few different SS86 figures, and as someone with a hefty MP collection, I am about to compare them head to head. I want a line that is simpler, cheaper, funner, and takes up less space. So lets hope its good.

Great video! imo scale shouldn't play such an important factor. If you just want the standalone figure instead of adding it to a collection, scale won't matter

My tips for collectors are: don't bother with completing a collection, and don't buy figures just because the price is allright. Go for the ones you think are cool. Collecting just for the sake of collecting will end up make you feeling burnt out and with an empty wallet for when a character that you really want hits the shelves.
