    That smokescreen on the thumbnail deco is epic

      I should buy another one and try to recreate it in real life! He's a bit hard to find in the UK now though

    Ugh Blaster looks sooooo good! Wish I could find him in my area
    Wonderful video as always

      He was available through specialists in the UK but sold out pretty quick - where are you based?

    • @DeltaTrion
      @DeltaTrion 3 месяца назад +2

      @@retroandreissue Based in Texas! Sadly, all my local stores still have Kingdom figures and won't restock until those sell out... The downsides of being in a small town. I usually purchase online or on trips. I should get him now before he is too pricey on the aftermarket

    Toothpick dipped in 90% alcohol, and you can scrape off that Blaster white paint overspray.

    I like this sought of niche top 10 videos. I've never really put much thought into comparing paint jobs of figures but that's probably because they are doing such a great job on deco's nowadays. Great video!

    eHobby Deadlock hands down. The paint apps on it, and to only a slightly lesser extent, UW Grand Scourge, are simply next level and I'd argue that they blow every single figure on your list, out of the water in terms of paint apps.

    • @retroandreissue

      Sounds like a high bar! I will keep an eye out for those

      @@retroandreissue Unite Warriors Grand Scourge was from 2015 and Legends Deadlock was from 2016, so you might be paying a bit; they tend to be pricey on the secondary market.

    It's always a treat when HasTak fully details their figures so I don't feel I have to add anything, paint, stickers or otherwise.
    Earthrise DOUBLEDEALER is one of the best examples of detailed paint or use of multi-colored plastic on recent reimaginings of G1 figures! They managed to fill in practically everything without the use of stickers... I'm surprised he didn't make your list.

      I'm sticking to figures I can actually show from my collection - I'll keep an eye out for him though - sounds cool!

    I really do like hound paint job it one of my favourite right next to Bluestreak and Ratchet they’re just so great I love it

      I'm wondering if they'll revisit Bluestreak for the Legacy. I like him too but I also like that more muted grey/black on Trailbreaker. I'm in two minds!

    Another great vid!
    Not sure if you've dipped your toes into the Diaclone generation select stuff but I love those paint decos. They're done really well too. Actually a bunch of them are still pretty reasonably priced too. Whenever I'm going through a drought I'll pick one up and am always really impressed in hand and surprised how much i like them.

      Gratz! I still need to pick that one up - been very tempted on several occasions. Did you get the cartoon styled one or the toy deco boxed set?

    • @AbdullaMahmoodAlredha
      @AbdullaMahmoodAlredha 3 месяца назад +1

      @@retroandreissueThe cartoon one, but I think some of the stunticons(especially wildrider and breakdown) have better alt modes in the toy version.
      Still, went for the cartoon version because I mainly collect the cartoon versions of the characters

      @@AbdullaMahmoodAlredha I think I'm not too fusses which I pick up - just waiting for the right price. Of course the boxed set makes getting them all easier - but then arguably less fun tracking them down!

    The 35th anniversary cel shaded Optimus and Megatron I have are 2 of my favorites,the white thighs make it the most cartoon accurate robot form of any mainline Optimus release even though it has the weird siege alt mode.I do own every figure listed in the video except the dinobots and they're all great choices with awesome paint jobs

    I'm certain they do the different detailing to get fans to double dip.
    The massive expanse of third party toys tells Hasbro all it needs to know about how much disposable income is being disposed of. Tangental to that, it's my contention that there's always something slightly wrong about every Megatron, Optimus, and Seeker mold that comes down the pipe, just so they can keep coming close to a perfect version without actually getting there.

    • @retroandreissue

      It's something I notice in the Star Wars line also. How many attempts does it take to get something right?! Then again - technology is always improving - production methods, new sculpting techniques, new materials - so objectively things can and should improve over the years. It's when a product comes out - then there's some revision within a six month window. That seems suspect to me.

    In my opinion sometimes bare plastic is better than painted plastic
