Arcee is the only one I disagree with being on this list. Love the characters but not this clamshell figure. Galvatron also has his shoulders on back to front. Grimlock SS86, Siege Jetfire and Netflix Soundwave and Cyclonus are in my top 10. They are brilliant figures in both modes.
Get the Toyhax stickers to really enhance the figures. They look so much better with the extra detail, and Grimlock's visor is bright and reflective. I tightened the hips up on my Sludge (& the joints generally on other figures like Wreck Gar) by using the floor-polish/nail varnish techniques where tightening screws wasn't an option. Then there's the gap-filler/cover upgrade kits that really make them look like MP quality. With my Kingdom Rodimus, I painted the centre of his wheels silver and resprayed his face grey to match HotRod's & he looks far better. Then there's the various upgrades for Legacy Galvatron that extend his back pylon, give him more accurate feet, articulated hands & gap-covers. Resprayed his upper legs silver and added the Toyhax kit and he's twice the figure he was. Recommended.
G1 fans have been feasting with these modern figures so it's hard to pick just ten for a personal list but I'll give it a shot 10. Kingdom Warpath - Really unique look compared to the other Autobots and his transformation is fantastic, the way his legs convert in particular is genius 9. Earthrise Optimus Prime - If I'd written this list earlier he would have ranked a lot higher but the upcoming 86 version has emphasized a number of little issues I have with the mold, still a great Prime but it does feel like he'll be obsolete soon 8. Earthrise Sky Lynx - This one surprised me, didn't think I'd care too much for him but after grabbing him on sale he's been a lot of fun and he has one of the better base modes imo 7. Legacy Chop Shop (or any of the Insecticons really) 6. Kingdom Rodimus Prime - 86 Hot Rod is pretty good but I just like Rodimus more, he feels more solid and has a cool trailer that turns into an equally cool battle platform, yes his face isn't as accurate to the cartoon but I kind of like the grizzled look on him, helps him stand out from his pre-Matrix form that much more 5. 86 Wreck-Gar (or any of the Junkions really) 4. 86 Grimlock (or any of the Dinobots really) 3. Legacy Galvatron - Imo the first truly fantastic Galvatron, turns out he can be good when Hastak just lets him be a weird space cannon without adding a bunch of superfluous gimmicks to bog him down 2. Kingdom Cyclonus - On the other hand, Cyclonus has pretty much always had good toys, this is just the latest and greatest 1. 86 Ultra Magnus - Lot of personal bias here but I've wanted an animation-accurate Magnus since I first watched the 86 movie 30+ years ago and all the previous ones missed the mark for me (MP-22 was closest but I don't really do Masterpiece), this one is about as perfect as I think we'll ever get in mainline Honorable mentions in no particular order: Kingdom Red Alert, 86/Legacy Jazz, Legacy Hound, Siege Shockwave, Legacy Needlenose, Siege Jetfire, Siege Refraktor/Reflector, Velocitron Cosmos, 86 Bumblebee (the black windows and mismatched yellows bug me a lot but the robot himself is really nice)
Great video. I admit I’m still looking for a good Galvatron. What do you see the difference between the Kingdom and legacy version? They look the same? Is it size?
I Actually PREFER Cyberverse Gnaw MORE; 1) Due To $8 Price Point, Making It EASY To Build A Sharkticon Army! 2) He's A Nice Combination Of OG G1-Figure & Close, But NOT EXACT Similarity To 86-Movie & G1S3 Series!
Great video, straight-to-the-point!! G1 Slag was a hated figure for me because the engineering & design was the laziest out of all the Dinobots. But this Studio Series version made it go from worst to best for me, ironically! ... Yeah, I also think Slug (Slag) is the best figure in the SS Dinobots line.
From now on please say “slag” in the phill or grant Mitchell style.😂 So pleased you said his name, it’s a reference to a slag heap. The fact that connotation has change with slang is on us not the characters, their names nor the creator of them. Great that you said it, great video. Loved it. Subbed!
Wreck Gar is pretty much perfect. He's very accurate to what was on screen in the 86 movie. I'm really not sure which is my favourite, but I do like Warpath. There's a lot of detail on him. You're right about Smokescreen too. He does seem a lot cleaner than the other Earthrise releases.
I do like warpath - he can strike some really dynamic posing. My favourite is hands on hips, gun barrel standing proud! Agreed re: Wreck Gar - particularly his face.
My top 5 as of now. 1. SS Bumblebee Concept Art Megatron (A lot of G1 elements) 2.Soundwave (MP and Netflix) 3. Siege Jetfire 4.SS86 Ultra Magnus 5. SS86 Dinobots
Nice to find another Gears fan! I had the original as well. I love the new version. Galvatron too, just wish they'd change the color to be more G1 accurate.
I find Gnaw frustrating. I don't like the head being visible in the mouth and in beast mode why aren't his arms put on ball joints (also should be moved a bit further back from the mouth). FWIW I prefer Prowl to Smokescreen and actually prefer the Siege mold narrowly to the Earthrise, but it's a good pick. Hound is great but I'm hoping for a toy deco. Until then Siege will do. I agree Slag is the best of the Dinobots to date, but I needed the Nonnef kit for the black head and solid horns. Gears is a joy. Galvatron is great in all three of his decos. Can't believe you left off Cyclonus who is about as good a figure as you'll find. I'm also a big fan of the Huffer/Pipes mold, Tarantulas, Jihaxus, TM2 Megatron, Airazor, Cosmos, Dragstrip, Inferno/Grapple, and the Siege Seekers.
Hello I am a Newbie and I want to buy some good Transformers , WHICH LINE CAN I BUY ?? or what LINE , I reall want like this in this video A SIMPLE DETAILED BUT SUPER COOL AND BEAUTIFUL FIGURE.. THANKS FOR SHARING GUYS.
Got straight to the point within ten seconds, respect it
Great picks.. especially Galvatron. I was beginning to wonder if I was the only one who adores that figure as much as I do 😂
It’s amazing ! I love all of the series of these guys movie/cartoon alike , great job on this vid

I have all these figures except smokescreen. I would put Optimus prime up there too! This transformation and look is a chef's kiss
I'm really intrigued to see what they do with the upcoming Prime for Studio Series! Thanks for watching

Great vid. Wreck Gar was released in the UK as I had him - he came out with Rodimus Prime.

@@retroandreissue yessssss! Av ittttt!😂👍

That Hound 100% needs to be re-released.
really enjoying your videos brother! 🎉🎉🎉
My top 5 as of now. 1. SS Bumblebee Concept Art Megatron (A lot of G1 elements) 2.Soundwave (MP and Netflix) 3. Siege Jetfire 4.SS86 Ultra Magnus 5. SS86 Dinobots
I like a lot of the Bumblebee movie designs - shame that Megatron didn't make an appearance!
Nice to find another Gears fan! I had the original as well. I love the new version. Galvatron too, just wish they'd change the color to be more G1 accurate.
Twincast w.Rewind & Cloudcover are probably my favorites among the latest purchases i've made.
There's an upgrade kit for SS-Gnaw that has a fully articulated tail with jagged edges. It does wonders for the alt-mode.
Good stuff - I will keep an eye out for it. I've been tempted by some of the Dinobot upgrade kids already...
Gears was my first TF too. I got him after reading Transformers #3, the issue with Spider-Man.
He's such a grumpy classic!
I find Gnaw frustrating. I don't like the head being visible in the mouth and in beast mode why aren't his arms put on ball joints (also should be moved a bit further back from the mouth).

THANKS FOR SHARING GUYS.
Gears was my 1st Transformer too!
wreck gar did get a uk release, but he was one of those hard to find figures that not many places seemed to stock.
I wish they’d reissue Hot Rod without the clear plastic
That Rodimus Prime should be on the top top 10 list
cool transformers toys
What is this particular series / line called?
Great video mate
Thanks - glad you enjoyed it!
It's funny that you don't like weathering because I deliberately paint all my figures to look as greasy and weathered as possible
What? Each and every one of these have hollow sections in arms and legs! These harken back to Gen 1 bots!
Me Grimlock say I am king.
The dinobots in general are a win in my opinion! Thanks for watching
Was always my favorite Dinobot, the only one I had as a child.
Slug?? Isnt it Slag?
Slag is backward heavy.
Ridiculous top 10 except only Hot Road.
