Looking great Kev. I really like the miniature sunflowers and that shade of blue lobelia is gorgeous. You have a knack of spacing things so that they have room to grow and merge. I think I plant too close in the beginning. My cosmos hasn't flowered yet. Think I've got one bloom. I too have planted a lot of Nemesias this year as they're such easy plants to look after. I thought I'd got all my plants in the ground but I bought some reduced price pelargoniums from Morrison's today. Your grass is looking amazing.

Thanks, Wendy yep hit luck with the grass I put some water feed on it last week and just caught it right with this rain as it's been so dry here two weeks ago that the grass looked dead in patches just shows how it picks up The Lobelia is Crystal Palace a very old variety I always grow from seed as it will germinate I find in a lower temp for me and does not suffer from damping off to badly for me Many thanks for your super kind comment. It's been a slow year here quite a dry cool spring so as you say some plants have not got going that quickly this summer to flower freely we need a bit more warmth again like a couple of weeks ago. Trouble is it watering every day then Oh, well you never win at gardening do you. All the best Kev.

Thanks, Clem, yep every year I say I'm going to cut down on growing all these plants! Yet every year I seem to end up growing more but it does cheer one up to see so much colour when you walk out the front door. But you can see why this type of gardening has gone out of fashion here in the UK as it's very labour-intensive. Thanks as I always so love getting your so kind comments. Hope life goes well and it's not too hot over there. All good wishes Kev.

Hi Kev, I have lots of tools but tend to stick to my favourites. I have a few of the Wolf-Garten ones and find them really good. They are expensive but once you've bought them, you'll have them forever. I bought a Hori Hori after seeing a lot of RUclips videos and when I showed it to my dad, he said it was just a fancy knife and not worth the money that I paid for it. I find it very useful and use it a lot in my garden. I wish the rain would stop as like you, I've still got plants to get in the ground. The garden took a battering the other night as we had some really strong winds and it felt like November. I was almost tempted to put the heating back on. I've never known a year like this and just hope it improves for us garden lovers.

I gave another super close relationship up to come home to care for my mother who had dementia and I now care for my 93-year-old father. @@dlb9283 Thanks for your kind words lovely to hear you help look after and care for your mum. I think with so little help re social care these days it's going to be down family to care for older family members. So many seem to wash their hands and think someone else should be doing this care in later life. The problem is being a career you really can't have or start any relationships it is just not fair on the other person as your time can be somewhat limited and very hit-and-miss when you can get out and about. One reason I started a RUclips channel was life can get so very lovely being a career, particularly in that crazy pandemic time. And like so many caring for older people we just did not dare go out so it was weeks often before I saw someone in person so RUclips seemed a good way around this. You do miss having that close person around for sure! But who knows what's just around the next corner in life? Thanks again for your very kind words Best wishes Kev.

Plants are looking super healthy there Kev. I agree with you that it's been the worst year for slugs and snails probably down to all the wet weather we had. I've lost so many plants this year which is really annoying. They've decimated a whole tray of Calibrachoas that I'd potted on from a nursey plus so many Sunflowers. They were in my little grow house. On top of that, the birds have been nibbling on my Cosmos so I've lost a load of those too. I bet you're finding like me that there aren't enough hours in the day at the moment.

Congratulations on your new plot! At this point in the season you will be planning your shape and structure of you allotment. If I can offer a suggestion it would be to buy a big bag of cheap potatoes from a local supermarket. Then plant all the areas you plan to grow on next season with them. Don't waste time trenching and mounding them just plant deep with a bulb planter. Potatoes are like letting a pig loose on your plot, once they've grown they will have saved you a lot of back braking work and leave a better cultivated soil structure. You can also interplant the rows with other produce that wont mind shading, like salads and leaf crops. All the best!

Water is the key to allotments, my council wont install water because of reasons that just sound like they cant be bothered, there are less than half the plots taken and half of them have now been cut in half and given to the farmer while our rent doubled The villages around us all have water systems installed and have waiting lists years long Great to see more allotment plots being set up though Although I think you need a tractor, seeing that spade hurt MY back 😂😂

I do so agree without water for me it would be a non-starter! As for 20 years, I had a local town council plot and we had great water there each plot had a big cattle-type trough on it which had a ball valve and filled up quickly as it was 28mm pipe fed so you could dip 100s of watering cans in and take as much as you liked and it filled up so quick. These new village allotments where I am now are going to get water later this summer in the form of a piped supply to a couple of big tanks. Thanks for your most kind comment. Kev.

Thanks, I had quickly put this on as I had just got back as I had cycled 5 miles trying to keep fitter this spring by running or cycling every day! Not easy in all the wet! I have to say the seeds have come up so well as of today's date thanks as always love your super comments Kev.

Your Spring flowers are looking lovely. My daffodils have been fine. Don't think I've known such a wet Winter and I feel like I'm so far behind in my garden.

Basin pitcher for a floral arrangement is so fun and casual for a March pop of nature indoors.

This was my Great Grans Bedroom water jug I have the bowel to match as well. And even have the marble-topped washstand still! Where the flowers were at the end was her bedroom mirror and chest of draws built by a local joiner in 1908! Thank you for the super comment. Kev.

Looks a good spot Kev. As it's now March (I'm late catching up) I wonder how it's going?!!

Yes, thanks we are moving on in the right direction. But having been so wet here in Feb it has slowed the process up somewhat. But I'm going up on the 4th of April to help mark the plots out so it's getting very real now thanks. Hope you are keeping well. I bet you have also had a very wet winter there? Thanks, Kev.

@@tonyworrall7379 Yes we had another deluge here last night as it had started to dry up with those stiff North winds at the end of last week/weekend! You can bet your life it will set in dry when I get going on the Alottment! I know all too well from many holidays to the Snowdonia area when it rains up there with you it sure does rain!! Thanks, Kev.

Tubs are looking lovely Kev. Is this rain ever going to stop? I'm not surprised that you can't get on with your pond. I went to my brother's place last week and I've never seen so many toads in his lane. He said they were making their way down to his pond. It brought back happy childhood memories of us collecting spawn in a jam jar.

Many thanks, Wendy that lovely when people say that! You would not believe some of the comments you get on RUclips! I just delete rude comments these days. Still raining again today here so the pond gets even fuller and I can't get out to finish the job. But never mind. Thanks as always for your super comments they are very much appreciated. Kev.
