- Water Water Everywhere Floods!@floodsuk9545 Should we be doing more to try to control our rivers and watercourse better and hence try to stop flooding on this scale? Or is that even possible? Or do we have to have a total rethink to how our climate is now and maybe try to put back the flood meadows which have been lost or even worse built on in the last 40 years in some parts of the UK. Do we need local bodies to manage our river better than the current Environment Agency? As they seem to waste millions to me by not always doing the right thing. My heart goes out to anyone who has been flooded this week again in the UK.

My heart goes out to all those poor people. As you said, it's not clean water that's coming in. I've never been flooded but can imagine the devastation that it causes and it'll take months to sort. Glad that your property has been okay Kev.
Thanks, Wendy Yep I am so high up the valley side if the water got as high up to us there would be a flood so big and wide and deep and fast running there would not be much left I feel. I have not heard how much damage both caravan parks had as yet. As that drone footage might have looked worse than it was and hopefully, those lodges and large caravans did not get water in. But I'm sure some did sadly. As to the answer, I just don't really know I still think any form of housing or retail on a natural flood plane is a disaster waiting to happen. Thanks, Kev.
