I think caelid is the izalith we truly lost. Think about it, izalith was originally supposed to be an infernal swam. The red exploding aeonian geysers, izalith getting changed to a literal inferno. I really believe Miyazaki held onto the idea until elden ring to make up for what was lost

Havel's been the victim of mistranslation, he's not called a bishop in the Japanese version and instead he has clerics that follow him and use Havel rings and stone armor to mimic him, the Havel's items should have probably has the apostrophe s removed as well. So Havel is another god, and judging by Dark Souls 3, since the faith in him hasn't wavered he's probably still around by the end of the trilogy, just off screen.

Okay I don't want this to come out wrong but the gate in Church after the dragon you said it's not too satisfying to come up to this gate, especially cuz I have no real need for it now or something really close to that. But what is really satisfying about that gate is trying to run at it and at one time getting through and then it's slamming down and killing the pig. Then you grab your key. Open it back up and happily die knowing that that challenge is done cuz there's like 15 guys on your right now

- Half of the game if unfinished - extremely clincky - graphics are way too bad, even for games at that time. Ds1 is not even close to a masterpiece, but people love it because it was special at the time and a way to annoy others that you player souls games before you're friend who love Elden ring.

I also like the Tomb of the Giants because it feels like a primitive and ancient version of the Catacumbs. In both traversal and enemies. I love how dangerous it felt the first time I was there. Being really scared of advancing throught the darkness.

Awh nearly a year? So cute lol not being serious at all. I've had a love/hate relationship with dark souls 1 for nearly 15 years. I hated this game so much for the first 2 years of its existence. I migrated to souls from armored core. It took awhile to learn to love it lol

I actually thought the half dragons were really cool, the visual of them all waiting in silence adds to the whole ‘lost’ idea of izalith. I only wish they gave them more unique mechanics, like not detecting you until they’re hit or attacking wildly after getting hit
