It has been a little while. Life has been a bit overwhelming for the past few weeks and this scene kept showing up in my head. I thought it would be nice to have something talking about this scene so I hope you enjoy this short Breaking Bad video. Have a great day!
Great analysis. Honestly this scene is almost a blink and you miss it for how much is packed in the pilot episode and for what’s to follow of course. I never really realized how such a small scene can almost symbolize Walter and his life. There’s obvious examples like the fly episode maybe too that explains a bit more but especially this being in the pilot just goes to show us the raw look at Walter behind it all. Great video!
Currently re-watching Breaking Bad and I'm surprised by the sheer number of references to famous lines and moments from the Sopranos. 1. At Elliot's birthday party someone gifts him a stratocaster, which is probably a reference to Finn's joke at Hugh's birthday party when Tony gifts him the Beretta. 2. When Walter is told he is in remission, Hank quotes The Godfather's "Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in", also famously used in the Sopranos. 3. Walter's cancer surgeon is played by the same actor who plays Dr Kennedy in the Sopranos. 4. Walter's famous pizza-on-the-roof scene is very similar to Tony's attempt to talk to Carmella during their separation
1:41 well cannonically god doesnt start paying attention to walter until he basically kills jane. No i am not memeing. Vince explained that he isnt exactly sure what he would say what the teddy bear eye is but he said its most likely the eye of the universe or god of sorts. There is an official wiki for breaking bad Also yes indeed there is a implied to be an afterlife. And both bcs reppresent being watched by those who died pleanty of times The exit sign in saul gone is to represent chuck, in the episode rabid dog the pink teddy bear is sitting in a tree watching jesse in rabbid dog in a easy to miss detail. The pink bear reppresents both holly white and jane as there is a pink bear ib janes room as a ainting in her wall above pink sheets. Steve and gomez are reppresented as birds in ozymandias. I am not saying walts cancer is a punishment from god im pointing out the complexity of breaking bads imagery but the eye of judgment sees walter for what he is deap down. Breaking bad is a story through change but change walter wanted. Walter wasnt always evil but walter through willing means changed into what he wanted to be He wants to be masculine, respected, known for his mind and tallents, and ve made rich Walter got everything he ever wanted at the expense of what mattered. Walt lacks good self esteem and tries to fill that pit with ideas of what a "man" should be. But self worth comes from not potential but from the people around you and ones ability to love himself as a person and not for his abilities. I just realized i got preachy. Waltuh put your DS away waltuh im not playin mario kart with you right now.
You’ve doomed us all Waltuh. Also great points! I do remember hearing the teddy bear eye described as the eye of god and it definitely gave off that vibe.
Its so funny to me that the best tv show includes an episode where an old paralyzed grandpa shits himself, and they made him into a freaking cartel boss

Also both shows have a Happy Birthday Mr Kennedy scene and both are incredibly awkward.
"F you! And your eyebrows!"

He turns into one of the more interesting antagonists too. The ways this series develops these characters is astounding.
Good job
The matches gave him lung cancer.
Looking into this.
