      I actually tore it completely apart and removed the grease that was in it. Then I packed it with a moly grease. Now it is silky smooth. I just shot a 588-24x at a competition for F-Open last weekend. I'm very happy with it. Also, I replaced the bag on top of it too.

    78.2 is looking promising with that 8.32 SD and that group is like 1/2 moa w/o the flyer. Maybe try it again ans play with seating depth? Seems like that would be a better load for passed 1000 yard stuff. Love your content, man. I recently finished my 300prc project (Kelbly's/26" 1-8.5 pac-nor/KRG Bravo/triggertech/Tract Toric ) and just got some retumbo and 225 eldm's to do some load development with. I have four different presses. A RCBS Rock Chucker II, a Lee Classic Cast Press, and two MEC shotshell presses. One 12ga, and one 20ga. Also, an RCBS primer pocket swager. They all are rock solid with their individual base plates. I plan to add another base plate for a vise. The In Line Fabrication is the best system, by far, for mounting any type of press. If you have an oddball press, send them a tracing of the footplate, and they will custom make a one-off plate for you. Or provide you with a blank if you wish to make your own.

    • @mattsreloadingbench
      @mattsreloadingbench 21 день назад

      Go to inlinefabrication.com They have mounts for almost any press that is out there. If they don't have one, they have blanks that you can get and drill your own homes in to make it for whatever press you are needing it for.

    You went little backwards buddy the further the shoulder is blown out on the case your loading, over your oal case you used to check the seating depth with the further you have to seat the bullet out out the case bc the front of your brass is gonna hit the front of the chamber sooner than it would 3 tho smaller so instead of you being 20 tho off the lands like you wanted you were 26tho.. which isn’t bad. the case your loading is 3 tho bigger than you oal case then you seated the bullet in further 3 tho off the lands. but great video man!

      Yes, you are correct. Every barrel and every action can be different. I cant stress enough that everyone should do their own load development. Now, that being said, my content can give you a guideline of how to go about it and in the end, your results may be similar or they may be completely different. Different rifles/actions/barrels might like different powders or powder charges. I always start my development by looking at published data, then backing off of the max charge by about 2 grains of powder and I will work my way up to find which powder charge will give me the best ES and SD. Then I go from there to seating depth testing.

    good work Matt, thank you how much are you trimming off the tip to "square" if off before you point the bullet ?

      I set it up where I pointed the bullet to deformity the profile of the bullet, then backed off the pointing die until that no longer happened. Then I trimmed to get rid of any bur that was on the tip from pointing.

      Sorry I didn't make myself clear. The first step in your process before pointing is the initial trim....how much are you trimming off the tip before pointing?

      @quest450 I trim off just enough to have a uniform appearance with the tip of the hollow point. I look for the same thickness of jacketing around the opening of the hollow point. I try to remove as little as possible to achieve this.

    I know this video is old, but have you since worked higher? I am running 80.0gn with lapua brass, fed 215Ms and 225eldms with no signs of pressure and running through Gordon’s I’m just under max pressure. Yielding avg speeds around 2888. This is out of a 24” pipe too

      It was a great barrel. I hit a 1 moa 1 mile target with it 6 shots in a row. Last year.
