You can reduce SD by using Mandel in place of ball expander. You will need to try a few sizes. Also coating the bullets bearing surface with neolube2 it will instantly lower SD. Neck tension and release friction has a large effect on consistency
cool, nice to see you get some new videos up. in my experience, the ES's aren't as consistent for the first 150 to 200 rounds. that's just from shooting and reloading for F-class for 10 years. it's great to see you got a new barrel. what barrel is it? it looks like it is gonna be a shooter.
The barrel is machined by Straight Jacket Armory and the blank is a Shilen. 30" with a EC Tuner V2. It shoots really good too. There will be videos in the future... I shot my 1st F-Class match a few weeks ago with it and I am very happy. Thanks for watching!
@@mattsreloadingbench yeah, I'd be happy with it. that's pretty good, especially for your first match. was it a calm day or did you get to experience the joys of some nasty conditions?
Play with seating depth and different primers and bullets ( Federal Match Primers-Berger Bullets 140 Grain Elite Hunter) might do to lower the SD's and ES's
Weigh those primers down to the .02 grains and bin them together by weight. Some see more consistent velocities when the primers weigh the same. Heavy primers equal higher velocities than lighter primers. Need to use a scale that can measure that difference.

I use a mandrel and neolube in case necks.

@@mattsreloadingbench sweet, that's awesome. what was your score? which range was it at?
@@reloadingfun it was in Louisiana in Grand Cane. Long Range Alley Rifle Club. My score was 586-21x
I'm very happy with that.
600 yards

@@reloadingfun it was fairly calm. There was a 6mph side wind that was opposite of what the flags were showing. It was really weird.

I might do that down the road. Right now I am pretty happy w8th what I am see8ng.
Thanks for watching!
try retumbo and 140 berger hybrids i shoot a 6.5 x284 N and get 2990 with es of 7and sd of 5.......
I will look into that in the future.

See if sorting primers shrink those SDs and ESs
What do you do to sort primers?

@@bmghunter5966 unfortunately I don't have a scale that can do that.
Maybe just bin them by the .1 grain for now to try. Should at least give you a high and low weight set to test SD with.
That 57.0 load looked outstanding. No verticle and dispersion was tight.
What projectile are you using?
153.5 Berger Long Range Hybrid Target
