September weather proved much kinder than the rest of the summer weather and I managed to visit the Small Isles of Muck, Rum, Eigg and Canna. I was delighted as it was to be my last major Multi Day adventure in 2024.
Prettiest Place On The Planet ..Arisaig Skerries
Просмотров 3,9 тыс.Месяц назад
Arisaig Skerries were once my favourite place to go boating, however IMO they became a victim of their own success. Too many visitors put me off as I much prefer quiet remote places. During my last multi day adventure round the Islands of Scotland I revisited the Skerries for the first time in several years and I convinced myself that they are still the prettiest place on the planet to go boati...

This video series will cover my wild camping adventures on loch Etive over a full year. This episode is for the month of May. I love watching the countryside waken for its winter slumbers. It help me recover from the dark winter months too. I meet some new neighbours in this episode too.. not the friendliest neighbours either..but we learn to tolerate one another ..eventually.
Tormenting Trout in Loch Etive with a Gopro Hero 12 Camera

I accidentally drowned my GoPro Hero 7 camera while fishing in Loch Etive so replaced it with the latest model , a GoPro Hero 12. This is my fishy tale trying it out for the first time and my honest opinion of the Gopro Hero 12.
Loch Linnhe and Loch Leven by Inflatable Cabin Cruiser

Mid July and the Scottish weather was still very fickle. Cold north winds gusting to 30mph and often rain. So when a couple of nice days arrived I had to get out in the boat and make the most of things. This time I headed up Loch Linnhe to Loch Leven and had a great time. The video tell the tale ..hope you enjoy it :-D
Islands of Coll Gunna and Tiree .. continued

The second and final part of my first multi day adventure in the Inflatable Cabin Cruiser. It worked a treat and despite its size is very comfortable for me. The big plus was no disturbed nights from wandering cows, stags ..or warewolves ..and not a single insect bite :-D

My inflatable cabin cruiser passed its sea trials at Lismore with flying colours so it was time to head to sea for a real adventure. I spent 4 days going round Coll and Gunna with a visit to Tiree and this is part one of that adventure. The weather was very fickle ..Hail..rain.. sun ..calm seas ..strong winds ..you name it I encountered it. What has happened to July sunshine ?

Such a beautiful coast and nobody around, the boat is a game changer and a fantastic idea.pleasure to watch as usual
Thanks for posting Donny, lovely end to a great adventure
Alright Donny....i took a walk into Rahoy estates a couple o month back...around that small loch Teacuis you were in...seen a lovely otter in there fishing the shore line as tide came in...watched the otter for around 5 mins before it got wind of me...then it disapeared under the water...lovely little loch. Great viewing as usual Donny...nice 1.
I imagine there are zero regrets for moving to your new home Donny. You are so, so in tune with the place. Loving your videeos mate,
You might have saved the best till last here……It always amazes me how the sea state can change so quickly, shame about the fishing but we can’t have it all 😊 looking forward to your next adventures
Brilliant Donny, I loved especially how you managed the wind and how rough the sea looked because I would of been terrified but I remember the last time I saw you that you told me to get out there and experience the ride or I will never learn. I am not that sure if I could of left watching the otter's play I loved how much they touch each other and put their head resting against each other . Thanks for doing the video loved all of it and learnt from it. Ray K UK YNWA.
I wish Scotland was blessed in sunshine like you most of your productions Donny, But then it would be spoilt by too many outsiders 😂 if the rain and wind didn't put us in our place. Your expeditions are a dream to watch and give so much passion for us all to explore 10/10
Yet another superb video Donny, you are making a lot of us landlubberrs very jealous , I personally am itching for brighter days so go on the road tripI am planning to Morvern and Skye, bring on the spring , once again thank you for brightening up our evenings, stay safe.
Thanks for this wonderful series, Donny!
Another great video Donny Thanks
Stunning as usual Donny. You are so lucky with the weather. Flat calm a lot of the time. The otters were something else. Fabulous. I have seen wild life photographers waiting for days to capture what you have there. These films brighten my day and make me want to jump in the car and bask in the beautiful surroundings of Scotland…..next year now! Thank you so much. Best wishes David
Yet another stunning video, Donny! The otters at play fascinated me and the youngest members of my famil;y, and the drone footage showcased the beauty of this area. Your soundtrack was spot-on too, as always. I don't think you realise how much joy you bring with your videos! Thank you again!
Well I’ve waited till the end of your 4 part adventure to comment. What a stunning trip and how great it must of been to get a great weather window after such a fickle summer. Thanks for making my evenings so entertaining 👏👏👏⚓️
Thank you so much sir beautiful beautiful adventure 🙏🏼
Great video, really enjoying the series. What a great moment watching the otters play.
Donny! You're a "low-key bad-ass" ....a gentleman, who can hold his own in the physical realm of things... Don't let guard down, would be a blue bird day I imagine, when a mistake might be made...talking to myself now, @ anchor in Alaska.
Loved this series of videos Donny, thank you so much for sharing.
Lucky little otters, having uncle donny babysitting. Great video
Wow again. Well done Donny. Another fantastic video. I know I will be watching this video again like I do with all of your videos. My wife and I love your channel. Thanks Steve 👍
Great series of films
Thanks for sharing these magic otter moments! A bit of a flashback, reliving my own tours on loch Sunnart etc, most enjoyable and relaxing. Thanks Donny. .
Love your videos Donny.
Great images Donny, especially those otter scenes, very well done with that one. Perhaps a goretex bivvi bag might protect your sleeping bag from condensation,my dutch army hooped bivvi works very well indeed. Might I suggest turning the frying pan/lid the other way up to prevent the stove slipping off? If you need a ring turned to place it in, just let me know. Thanks for posting.
superb Donnie 😊
Hi Donny enjoying your videos Immensely, with your small boat - seems a grand boat.
Fantastic Donny ,I've loved everyone of these videos..... We have walked and enjoyed Lismore so many times over the years , thank you so much for sharing your adventures...... Looking forward to more of your work Donny , I'm off for a wee dram to calm down
Details on your boat tent please mate
I canoed most of this bit of Scotland when the A 9 was single track and the bridges wear all stone not concrete , same weather ( shocking lack of real Scotish weather ) . Never saw one tent or one pleasure boat in three weeks ! Lots of nosy seals and friendly fishing boats , one came over specially to show me a beautiful blue green three foot plus lobster ,thank you sir one off my greatest memories . The life in sea locks was VERY DIFFERENT , the bottom was covered with busy brightly colored creatures , i was quite shocked how grey and bare it is now .
Hi SepticWhelk..thanks for commenting and yup..I think we saw the best of Arisaig..not that its changed much..its just too busy in the summer months if you enjoy peace and quiet 😀
You certainly know the best places and the best way to explore them. Beautiful footage of an enchanted coastline. Thank you for sharing.
Love this video Donny. Watched it a few times now. I'm trying to get my head around that anchoring technique. 😂. The music in the drone footage is spot on. Really enjoy watching. Thanks Steve 👍
That was great. Thank you for showing your adventures.
The mix of an inflatable and small (quiet) outboard is just right for this area. Calm and beautiful - in this season at least!!
Lovely 3 videos. The island looks super, if not a little sad to see ruins. Wildlife obviously thriving. I did read that there was a rat problem there in recent years. Looks like the angling around might be challenged with all those seals. And birds feeding.
Loved It many thanks
Just watched the 3 parts of your stunning adventure and amazing photography Thoroughly enjoyed it and subscribed 👍
Thank you duneideann..much appreciated and thanks for the sub 😀
Simply stunning 🏴❤️🏴
