Hello, I also use a foldable inflatable boat. I'm camping on the islands. I live in Turkiye. I liked your RUclips Channel very much. I subscribed. I have things to learn from you. I wish you have a nice day.
Many thanks again Donny for another fabulous video. Your cabin cruiser setup seems to be proving its worth, especially keeping the midges, ticks and cattle at bay! Looking forward to part 2!
Thanks mtm101..im delighted with the wee boat.. im not sure I could last several days of pouring rain..but Im not as tired after a few days away as I was when tenting it :-D
Hi Donny, love watching your videos. I've been heading up to the West Coast for fifty odd years ( since a kid ). As someone who used to work in forestry and likes to walk, camp and bivvi I've had more than my fair share of ticks. In the south of Cumbria where I live they're prevalent. Have you tried the anti tick clothing available now? Bushwear also do nano No Tick wash in. I've got anti tick trousers and gave my socks n base layers the wash in treatment and on a recent trip camping canoeing and walking in the Moidart area had no issue and have not had ticks in the Lakes. Maybe coincidence but when you visit places people describe as 'tick island'.... Anyway, keep enjoying the outdoors and posting the wonderful vids. If you see someone in a red canoe, it could be me.
Yup david .. well I looked at the cost of anti tick clothing but when the salesman told me the repellant eventually washes out..I discovered it just clothing with permethrin sprayed into it..its cheaper to by permethrin and spray my own clothing. ticks are funny..they seem to love me yet leave other folks camping beside me alone ? Fortunately Im allergic to their bite so itch almost immediately and I find them fast and get them out. I can only assume thats why I have never had lyme disease ..as I get hundreds of bites per year. Enjoy the kayaking.. I often go with the kayakers on camping trips myself :-D
With all the van life channels on RUclips, I wouldn’t be surprised if a flood of boat life channels started up copying your design over the next 5 years. You could patent / manufacture your canopy and make a fortune, it is truly unique, and the idea has potential to create an untapped market. Your boat looks badass and offers the freedom that van lifers can only dream of. I want one!
Thanks for the kind comments funkydozer ..im sure in a few years time our coasts will be a lot busier so Im making the most of the peace and quiet while I can :-D
With all that brewdog you’re going to have to install a ‘head’, we don’t want a man overboard during the night 😂…. I fully empathise with you getting fed up waiting for the summer to arrive and salute you for getting out there 🫡 Enjoying the story so far and looking forward to the next instalment 👍 I’m heading out fishing etc tomorrow, thinking south of pladda and if conditions allow may nip down to Ailsa Craig - we shall see….. Keep up the good work and inspiring others including me 😀
another great one donny! currently sitting in craobh haven thursday 11th - windy but sunny. Did you miss our 1 glorious day of summer on monday 8th? we had a fantastic trip to the beehives at the garvellachs. Looking forward to part 2 and possibly bumping in to you sometime. Best wishes, Bob
Hi Donny i am new to all this boating but love watching your videos ,i was wondering where did purchase the tent on your boat and what size motor do you use
Hiya Donny, That old sewing machine of your mum's has certainly came in handy, even better as i assume she taught you how to use it. I've recently inherited a couple of machine's and haven't a clue where to start. The bay where the cottages are is the same bay Tony took us after the rib run last year for our cuppa. Bliss, Im still plodding on refurbishing my wee boat into a mini aboard camper as i kept banging my head entering the cuddy soon to be a wheelhouse. You've done wonders in a short time for security and comfort which certainly makes your life better whilst making the video's. Can i ask you what speed your boat did crossing the Atlantic to coll please.
Hi rha.. with was a bit bouncier going to coll than the video seems to show. I went displacement speed in the rougher bits and up to around 15mph when I could..so spped was varied 😀coming back..i was probably 20mph..as flat calm 😀
I see the global boiling is as hot on the west coast as it is here in the east of Scotland. Great video. How do you plan your fuel? or are there places around you can top up at?
There is the odd island that sells fuel alan..but you cant rely on them having it as they often run out. Its why I enjoy having a small boat..the 25hp is very fuel efficient..and I have three 25 litre tanks and a 20 litre contained on board to can do well over 250 miles without a refuel. Tobermory always has fuel though as does mallaig etc..just the inner hebrides can be hit or miss :-D
Glad you enjoyed the video sarky..im not expert at flying drones so you see what Im capable of..its easy saying fly slow..but when the wind blows ..its not easy to do ..thats my experience anyhoo :-D

Lovely video, but please don't pan the drone so fast. Slower is always better, unless you're remaking Daktari. 😁
