Confused...where was the verdict on the Indian Scout Bobber?....... Why did you not test the Scout Bobber against the obvious rival , the TRIUMPH Bobber??? ...Honestly your artistic and filming content was great but your Editorial efforts were frankly rubbish!
the people want to ride regular bike why the same people want to prohibit them and close the tracks. Something is wrong. STOP KILLING THE LIBERTY STOP KILLING LIBERTIES
The Indian Scout is also a short distance cruiser because of its Infamous seat that brings tears to many a tough guy because of the pain it delivers to the rider’s coccyx. This isn’t helped by the jarring caused by the rear 3 inch rear suspension travel combined with the semi horizontal angle of the rear shocks making the ride even harsher on the body.
How does this compare to a Beta, Sherco, KTM, Husky etc in terms og weight and agility?
Dave Thorpe Is the reason I started riding And why I have a cr 500 Ledgend
Hi mate Is there a way I can contact you by email or Facebook?
Well I watched that for nothing he didn't ride
I did ride😂 clearly you missed the point. The bike had issues, they fixed it, and when they did, it ripped. After a few delivery delays and further upgrades the first customers have received their bikes. Check out their videos and I think you’ll see that the bikes have been worth the wait.
Fantastic review! Covers all the points. Thank you for not adding stupid music to any portion of the review. Wish more would follow this format.
I will be ordering one once the bugs are worked out for sure.
Hope they make changes so it's shorter, more like a Husky. They just handle so much better than any other bike made.
Thanks for the comments Kirk, but really the bike, in my opinion doesn’t need to be lowered, its hands down the best handling mx bike I’ve ever ridden in over 45 years since I first threw a leg over a dirt bike.
Hi Kirk, you wont be disappointed with the handling of the Varg, shorter or not none of the Husky’s have better handling than this bike. Its still ranks as the best handling mxer I’ve ridden, especially if you’re used to 4 strokes.
Thanks! Looking forward to the quiet future.
Why aren't they riding this bike in mud or wet soil. Like a real manicure track would be. Not a dry dusty track.
It had been pretty hot over a number of weeks in Spain and hard pack is pretty standard for Iberian tracks. Check out Brian Haskell’s latest videos on YT. He’s ridden various tracks in the US on the Varg. I think youll like what you see.
so looking forward to when mine comes to the states.
You clearly have a lot of years offroad and lots of skill! I've got the same bike and coming from 15 years of road riding I'm just figuring out light gravel! It's inspiring to see how capable the big V-Strom can be in the right hands.
Same here! Had huyabusa, got old school gsxr1100h So naturally I assume I can do this on less powerful bikes! But these guys and girls have a different set of skills! I'm torn between the 2023 v strom 1050de, triumph 900 rally pro or the new 1200 which is only 10% heavier than the 2022 900! Gota hate 1st world problems!
Such a great review! Looking forward to the EV motocross bikes
You sound South African :)
Would you say these are louder or quieter than stock?
My next bike! Uh, red or white?
But it cost more then a six day KTM 500 exc , wast of money rip off , id rather buy 500exc and big tank ride all day then push that shit heap home
If the claims are real, its a very good price. First the gas bikes come with a poor chain, you’ll usually have to buy a o-ring or x-ring chain but not on this one. You’ll also have to pay a lot to have the good spring rates for your weigh but not on this one. You also don’t need to add after market. Just that is a better value but after some hours, you are suppose to check your valves, timing chain, piston ring, clutch, oil change etc… So if even keep it 2 years, it is a much better price. The only thing i am waiting to be sure before giving them my money is if the battery can keep the 1h on mx track. By the way, they give you a 2 year warranty something that you can’t have on a dirtbike.
@@mxriderdakar not worth 19k in Australia its unregsted dirt bike can only be used on privet property ,that money i can buy a new 500exc and throw a biger tank on it 12.5liter ride 300klms on one tank and on the road legal
@@twistedthrottle8513 yeah i understand but it’s ok, what’s good is it’s a new type of bikes for maybe different type of market. Some are on road bikes, some dirtbikes, some 2 strokes, some 4 strokes. As long as the sport can go on, we should all be happy having a new manufacturer. All gas dirtbikes are also too expensive now days. The first cellphones were too expensive, now you can have all price. There are other ebikes at a better price, but that one will have premium components. Don’t forget how much cost a factory edition. In canada 15000$+15% taxe, the varg is supposed to cost me 16250$ all taxes included.
@@mxriderdakar yeah give 5 years they might do enduro version with street rego leds lighting kit and more Ah amp hours no so critical of weight savings but still with in 350cc or 300cc enduro weight ,battery tec may change in 5 years i am off grid on 14kwh of lithum lipo4 cells and could charge it for free up to 4000w charging power at 240volt,
I'm really a big fan of your video. What is not to like about a bike that you never need to clean an air filter on, jet, rebuild a top-end on. That you don't have to spend a lot of time maintaining and that you can easily adjust the power delivery on and handles great, with suspension set-up for you from the factory? Oh, and it's quiet, which opens up many possibilities for riding that are not currently available. I think this is great and can't wait until mine is delivered. I can't understand why anyone wouldn't want these things, which are all upgrades in my opinion. I will keep my 2 and 4 stroke bikes but I have a feeling this will be the one I ride most going forward.
Whats's wrong with the audio and the resolution?
I will always love my 125 and my 450 but the stark would be amazing for tracks that have noise problems. Most of the tracks around Minnesota are closed and the private tracks you can't ride because of the noise. Wish I could have a stark for that reason alone.
Hi, İs this not yamaha engine anymore? 😮💨😟
The "power unit" of the Fantic XEF 250 Enduro is the high performance, light and reliable Yamaha 250 4-stroke, with double overhead camshaft and cam profile dedicated to Enduro use.
Loud sells, and it's been that way forever. What if quiet sold? What if all those decades of making our bikes louder, we modded our bikes to be quieter? What if they came from the showroom floor quiet and not 100db plus? And now we are where we are. After years of closing public lands and private riding areas, we are to the point of going electric with one of its main endorsements being sound, or the lack thereof. Odd, we could have prevented a considerable amount of our own demise in riding areas by simply riding a quiet bike. Now we turn to a completely different technology for the answer. People are still crying about the loss of 2strokes. They're never going to stop crying now.
Thanks for your comments, interesting perspective and certainly have plenty of truth to them. There are however a few other factors to consider in the advancement of electric powered machines. People just resist change and hanker after 'the heydays' but looking back in half a decade for the new kids that will ride these without reference to the good old days, it may be that they have the same feelings as we do towards 2 strokes. In the meantime we can count ourselves lucky since we get to ride them all. :)))
@@RustSports Well ... we have not ridden them all, yet. Harley killed Alta and the Stark Varg is still MIA and looks to be for some time.
Best review on here thank you I will be saving for mine now
Glad you like the review. I'm sure you're going to love it. I did
Great review. I've owned mine for 10 years this year, and agree with everything you've said. When anyone asks me what I think of it, I always say it's terrible off road, terrible on road but leaves me smiling whereever I go! (Obviously exaggerated a bit, but it's a an good compromise between a road bike and an endure!)
Well said!, thanks for sharing.
Just discovered Stark today. Great info. Looks like there's a lot of material out there for me to study. Thanks.
Pleasure, glad you liked the review. Amazing machines.
????. Saying nothing??….?
Well thats a bit crap of us... Thanks for letting us know. We'll get to adding the audio track.
Booring crap
Great honest review. It’s also one of my favourite bikes, so I recently purchased my second one in 10 years with lots of bikes in between. 👍🏻
Thanks Timothy, much appreciated. Enjoy!
Nice job, the bike is sick.
Thanks!
The dilemma is the more successfully TRF promotes trail riding the more kickback from landowners and other motorcycle-negative byway users. However TRF has an exemplary approach to the problem.
Its a constant battle for sure, ever one of us has to do our part to present a positive image while on the green lanes. Appreciate the comments
Question for you please.I have a t7 my first bike for a year. It was fun but i want to get into dirt bikes but i need a street legal bike. I want to do both enduro and motocross all is just half hour ride from my house. I can only have one bike. I am between wr450f (actually the fantic version that is street legal) and a 300-450 ktm. What would be your suggestion for someone that wants both motocross and ebdhro n ride to the track? Am i right that the wr-fantic have more motocross roots so its a bit better for motocross side but in pure enduro nothing beats a ktm?
Hi Makis, Thanks for the post. Its so hard to make a choice for a do-it-all bike. As far as I'm concerned the WR is too heavy and is a handful on an mx track. Frankly I would suggest a Husky 501 (due to linkage). It would commute well and is a cracking bike that can handle enduro and mx equally well and is way lighter than the WR. The power on the 501 is also way more manageable due to the bore and stroke versus the wr450f that can be a lot more brutal, especially the newer ones. If you're using the 501 on the mx track or enduro the Air fork will allow no-cost adjustability without having to revalve the forks for a particular discipline. Thats my two cents. Hope that helps and good luck. Warren
Junk Junk Junk - dont waste your money
Ever ridden one? I bet not.
Yamaha should have had the decency to throw in a lithium battery at that price point, like Honda and BMW.
No kidding, we couldn't agree more.
I ordered the bike 12.14 21 at 1pm and have raced a sur-ron x getting ready in training now beating the shit out of my sur-ron and ripping it . But every day i get closer to having a STARK Varg the wait is worth it . 59 years old and I feel 5 thanks Starkfuture .
Hey Paul, This bike for Vets is going to be a banger.
I am so glad to here it as I am 58 and kids now 22 and 23 who hate shifting, long time rider Ia m so excited to one soon, How much? did you order of the website? Happy for you!
hello rust sport, I have pre-ordered a stark varg with a rear brake on the handlebars. now I've got coldfeet and am considering changing to a foot brake instead. what kind of brake did you drive with and how did you experience it?
Hi Markus, I wouldn't worry about the choice of a handbrake, the adaption from a foot brake took about 5-10 minutes and once I had adapted I'd choose the handbrake option now. If you've ever ridden a bicycle (which Im sure you have) it comes pretty naturally. Hope that helps.
would this be reliable for mileage though as need one for off road and long ass roads to get to work..
what type of milage and what speeds to get to work?
@@RustSports about 39 min there n back but mostly hitting max speed as dual carriageway ways
looking at one of these for doing some TET europe trails. dont know wether to get one of these and stick it in the van or a tenere 700 and ride that over.
Nobby I think that this would be an awesome machine for the TET. I like small and simple when in the middle of nowhere. Personally I like adventuring on smaller bikes but the 700 does have its advantages too. It would come down to which parts of the TET you plan on doing and the time of year. Winter and technical going and the WR would be my choice. Conversely, Summer and trails it would be the T7.
@@RustSports thank you im a total noob (road only) so am planning on getting some paid mx training first and taking advice from seasoned folks like yourself. thanks again!
Awesome 👍 Keep it , No thanks . It’s not the savior of our sport of motorcycle riding , it’s a totally different thing .
Hi Ronald, thats the thing about choice, we now have another option to float our boats. It's a welcome addition to some of us and others like yourself are welcome to walk on by. Thanks for the comments.
@@RustSports Will absolutely, totally walk on by . Just not a motorcycle. And with Government intrusion there will be no choice to make . When they ban internal combustion engines . No thanks .
What do they cost
about 12k
I can see the suspension working flawlessly, how do you set them up? All preload off and compression open?
Great comments guys thanks for sharing
Our pleasure, thanks for watching.
Poor sound quality volume too low
When you are commenting on the ride, I have no idea what bike you were criticizing. "I found the Triumph to be....." Or, "The Indian was..." Just saying.
Beat me to it.... Really though.... Like.... What bike are you talking about.
Hey chaps, it was the Indian - my butt was so sore after that ride I clearly did not articulate myself very well. The triumph was a dream and actually I liked the Indian save for the very hard seat, short suspension travel and and as a taller chap, the rider triangle was a bit cramped. All fixable with a few after-market parts. Thanks
What is msrp on these bikes and are they available n the US
About the Chain blocks. there is one company that did it one notch better: Vertigo. on my 300cc trials bike you adjust them both simultaneously with one tool, then just tighten the bolt. You don´t even have to count clicks!
You learn something everyday - cheers thanks for the facts. I am not a huge trials follower but Dougie Lampkin obviously had a hand in designing / building a premium machine with Vertigo. Clearly both brands build quality machines and have innovated along the way. Much appreciated.
@@RustSports Indeed! I would love to see a n enduro version of this one!
Wish i could afford to preorder one of those bad boys, im actually kind of excited for this new future. Let me break down my take. As you can see my profile picture it is my 2019 yz250f i love that machine but it takes a lot of effort to be a fast rider these days, i recently purchased a 1999 cr125 to sharpen my skills as a motocross rider, but it sounds like (after hearing many reviews of the varg) they have almost reinvented the wheel, if you can put in 30 minute motos effortlessly then that must mean the sport is going to make a huge turn IF everyone goes electric. What do i mean by this? Im excited to say that by my speculation everyone has claimed this new electric machine is much easier to ride than humans last motocross technology. meaning that now most racers should be on a much more even playing field, which leads me to my point, this might kill the whole training thing where you must be completely dedicated to racing for you to be able to compete, the level in our sport is too high because you must be in very good shape to be fast, now back to my point. This should make the sport much more talent based than training based.
Hi Anthony, thanks so much for your comments. Honestly I can say that you will still have to be in relatively good shape to get the best out of the bike - like any sport it pays to be prepared. What I can say is that it is easier and safer to ride than any petrol bike I've ridden for many reasons. One is the lacking of having to battle inertia, two is that ability to immediately correct bike trajectory in the air without the risk of stalling and of course there is less to think about and less movement not having clutch and gears. That all leads to being less demanding on you. Its not enough though in my opinion to stop you having to be in good shape to get the best out of the bike.
@@RustSports for sure, maybe i took it too far but if they are easier and safer to ride then the physically demanding part has to decrease some which was what im excited about, hours of fun without having to be so tired. Gonna run the battery dead and get stranded cause im so carried away ill check the time and realize how long ive ben riding and think to myself “wow I’ve probably never rode for that long by just freeriding”
I dont think so. You still have to have balls to hit the jumps and I suspect just as fit if not more because the torque and change in riding still. no shifting and more on the riding and faster will for sure push the limit. I really want one because of the up keep is better, I dont have to rebuild the engine, change the oil, oil filter, shifter AND my KIDS can ride now who HATE the shifting which will open this sport up to ALOT more people and its FUN for the HWOLE Family especailly since I can drop it back to a 250 or 125 for Daughter and soon where I want a 500! he he that fast it can go.
Great review thank you ! I just want to pick you up on the “Don’t call me gay ?” comment . Maybe replace “gay” for “wuss” or similar . Nothing wrong with being gay. Really want one of these bikes !!
Thanks Nick, I couldn't agree with you more...I am a rainbow supporter... it was not meant to offend anyone.
Sounds to low, can't hear what you're saying 👎🏼
