    Okay, it's just not me. I have been installing p/s pump seals for years, and never had this problem, until this last weekend. Rolled up the lip and destroyed the seal. I'm trying to visualize the drill and file. Are you using the drill to drive the shaft while filing the lip? The term "pull the drill" I'm guessing is spin the shaft with the file against the shaft step? New seal should be here this week, so I'll be doing just this. Great job. BTW this Eaton is on a 65 Mustang.

    • @fix-itrandy3724
      @fix-itrandy3724 2 дня назад

      Yes exactly. Spin the shaft with the drill and lightly file that lip. Just a little, not too much. I've rebuilt many pumps and this one was a pain in the a$$. The electrical tape and the excessive trans fluid are the big keys to getting it on easier. Good luck!

    The worst part about it is they're charging the same prices for the Chinese made ones in one region as they are for a US made one in other regions. This is a regional thing. Out East they are all made in China now. In the midwest (for now) you can still get a US made NAPA gold 1040 for about 13 bucks. The same filter in say New York, for example, is also about $13 bucks. That shit shouldn't even be legal!

    Did you ever figure out why they wouldn't install gutters in the front of your building?

  • @bguen1234
    @bguen1234 Месяц назад

    You probably do not have to worry about rain water. A carport style building doesn't have a foundation or siding that needs protection from water, and all of the rain that hits the roof was hitting the ground before and running off to the low spots anyway. Think about if you only had the slab with no building on it. You wouldn't worry about the rain running off of the slab into the yard. You should NEVER need gutters on the front of a gable roof. That's a huge red flag that the installers weren't properly trained.

    Should be using a Gano Filter to catch the scale so it doesn't make it to the radiator core, that said would have left it in there for 2 months to get the scale completely off. Curious if it actual lowered your running temps?

    lol,the many of the old Napa gold wix filters were made in Mexico and Vietnam,even wix isn’t wix anymore per say. I do think the new Napa gold filters are still a premium filter,but obviously the price should come down a hair given they are paying less for them, as a shop buying them I too am still paying the same price as the wix made,however to source wix filters now the price would double and people won’t buy them unfortunately

    • @fix-itrandy3724
      @fix-itrandy3724 3 месяца назад

      The Slab was made to the size requested from the builder. Quite a bit of planning actually. A lot of work as well. I didnt know that the roof was even an option to be built this way. It wasn't brought up when I sat down with the contractor. I talked about exactly that in the video. That was actually one of MAIN reasons I made the video. As a warning to others about these buildings. But hey, glad you know better 👍

    I had a metal building put up and every time it rains hard I get water coming in under the roof ridge and I also spray foamed every corner to help keep rats and snakes from getting inside, for the most part. That insulation on the ceiling isn't doing much with the large gaps between insulation and the structure. Oh yes, and even worse that the huge doors aren't insulated. I'm about to make my metal building into a man cave and will be building an interior wall that will separate the rollup door from the insulated room. I'm also going to have to put a covered porch over my door because rain comes right in underneath it. Makes zero sense to put the door inside the framing like they do, so the rain runs down the door and into the building.

    I have 1965 mustang. Chasing down issues. The shop that set my 8.8 explorer rear, set it to 9 degrees down with weight on wheels. These idiots must not have checked my 8 inch. I told them to set it exactly like the 8 inch. I now have 10 degrees of wedge coming. Raised the T5 up with shims to about 3.2 degrees down. I will try to update later. Tired of working on this vibration issue.

    The old sending unit o-rings will often expand from being in contact with gas, often times you pull it off and it'll be bigger than the new one, this also pretty much makes it impossible to reuse, UNLESS you boil it in water for about 15 minutes which shrinks it back to mostly normal size. I've done that in a pinch when I couldn't get a replacement o-ring and needed the truck back on the road. Now I'm here because the dead head setup on my 460 has irked me one too many times, I'm going to fight this vapor lock demon. I plan to wrap the starter with one of those little insulated blankets, run a return line from this filter back to the tank, and insulate the fuel lines near heat sources, eventually I'll have near EFI-level performance and reliability without spending an arm and a leg.

    The plug on the opposite side of the hydraulic manifold can be used. Install the hose there and move the plug to where you have the hose installed. Thats how Advantage does it in their video (after having the same issue you did on their own video!) Eliminates the shimming. Good workaround by you though.
