    I have a 2013, in SW PA. Rockers are shot, and it's not gonna pass inspection in December. One year in... how are they holding up?

      It's been 3 years and theyre holding up great. Tape is holding as well as the rivers. Paint is holding up too. I did all the possible prep I could. I'm kind of shocked the tape has held as well as it did honestly. I still spray cavity wax ect. Before every winter also inside the inner rocker holes

    Doing one rn just as bad I’m 10 hours in but I removed every bit of rust and neutralized all rust and converted with chemicals por15 everything waiting on them to come in mail for customer as I type this…. Bed fronts rotted out to welding in patch panels for that tho and paint matching it

    4:37 that hole that was covered with tape was the outlet for the drain hose. You should have at least 2 good inches of hose sticking out

      You are absolutely right! That was prior to me pulling the factory tape off and pulling the hose out and re-taping

    I'm told they rust because of 3rd brake light seal being bad and water leaks down cab into corners

      That def. Doesnt help. They made an updated seal that helps fix that issue- but having the sunroof drain tubes exit into the rockers definitely causes alot of damage as well

    My 2014 was horrible. 10 pounds at least of rust and scale. I'm about 10 hours in just rust removal.

      Are you in the rust belt as well? Ive read these are rusting out badly even in the south and west where rust usually isnt an issue :/

      @@fix-itrandy3724 I used to live in Michigan but now live in Florida. I thought I could finally have a truck without the rust. The salesman said it was a Florida truck but later found out it was from Maine.

      They are holding up great! They havent faded at all and the double sided tape and rivets are holding up nicely. I was the same-had to pick a stopping point and spray as much rust neutralizer as i could to slow it down lol

      @@fix-itrandy3724 your a good man. Btw. Im thinking of putting silicone at the top of the cab corner piece so no water gets in between. I know condensation will still happen but im thinking the tape will hold up longer?
      Hows that erea on your truck looking?

    • @fix-itrandy3724
      @fix-itrandy3724  2 года назад

      Yes id say adding silicone certainly wouldn't hurt!
      The inside of that cab corner had a decent amount of rust scale on it, so i wire brushed what i could and rust neutralized it- fingers crossed it wont spread anymore
