    Good video other than blacking out the parts where it looks like it was a bit tricky… those are precisely the parts of the people that people probably want to see… would also have liked to seen more on lining up the weather stripping.

    I painted my rivets so it's undetectable. I didn't want silver looking "buttons" showing behind my black truck

    If i have some rust bubbles on my cab corners should i grind those down first and then apply the rust inhibitor and grease???

      Hi Casey. Yes, we recommend removing as much rust as you can within the area that will be covered. You will need to have a good, clean surface where the tape will be mounted, but any rust that is starting should be removed even if it isn't yet corroded all the way through the paint or completely through the metal. This will help to slow down the spread of the rust as much as possible.

    What if you have rust/weak metal where you need to rivet?

    • @QuickCovers
      @QuickCovers  2 года назад +2

      We offer an inner rocker bracket to replace the lower pinch weld, so that there will be a mounting surface if rust has eliminated the viability of the factory one.

    So essentially the same solution as putting fender flares over rusty wheel wells. The problem is this will accelerate rusting by trapping debris and dirt where the rust is already prevalent. Please advise.

    • @QuickCovers
      @QuickCovers  9 месяцев назад +1

      Since the rust is being removed first, and the entire area is being treated with grease or cavity wax, this substantially reduces the further spread of the rust and keeps moisture from affecting the metal surface to the same degree as before.

    Do you have to sand before primer and paint?

    • @QuickCovers
      @QuickCovers  Год назад

      Quick Covers do not require any sanding. You just need to clean them and use an adhesion promoting raw plastic primer before they are painted.

    What's the point of this when rust travels so in a few months it's gana be Poppin up over the covers

    • @aaronfelix1252
      @aaronfelix1252 2 года назад +3

      You could treat the rust. Apply fluid film so it won't spread and then install the covers.

    • @QuickCovers
      @QuickCovers  2 года назад +4

      The intended purpose is to provide a rust-free look in a way that mimics a factory fit and finish, while offering a simple install process at a price that can beat the traditional method of repair in both time spent and total cost. The rust problem and potential growth will vary by truck, but our covers offer better coverage than other similar slip on covers, and our rust treatment method has proven very effective in keeping rust from spreading outside of the coverage area for many years. It is not intended to offer or replace any structural integrity. It is for cosmetic use only.
