Your dad would be so proud of you, first taking on all the admin work, organising all the sheep in the paddock and the cows / calves in the sheds. A job well done and I know your mum would also be very proud of you. A shout out to Davie as well cause he is your best mate / co worker and I guess gives you lots of support in the work you do. That's the first bit of information ive learned of sheep channels - i always just thought it was habit . I've all sheep housed and if I'm just 5 minutes late feeding the meal the roaring is unbelievable - so in other words they have their own body clocks. Also seeing a fox during daylight is a bad sign - there's not enough food for them.

Just wandering why dont you feed first and blow straw after?

I wish y'all could use livestock guardian dogs for flock protection, but with the whole "right to roam" thing, it wouldn't work out. They are quite effective, and for all but the most stubborn predators, they serve as a non-lethal deterrent, as most predators will just avoid the area.

Brilliant insight as always Nicola on different aspects of your Farm! You and Davy and your Dad always playing chess in your head with what needs to be done on a daily basis while taking into consideration the problems that pop up too! Appreciate your attitude is dealing with what you can control and fixing what you can't as best as possible! Davy has shown for a long time just how talented he is in repairing, managing, and over all Farming! He's hilarious AND a keeper Nicola! The Foxes are a huge problem as the wild hogs are here for Farmers. I hear the arguments about Nature this and that but in the end it's gibberish. You just have to take care of business! You did well to admit the trailer damage to the world. There is no serious damage. Now, you'll just have to live with Davey bugging you about it forever.

You might be able to pick up some 2nd hand rings or feeders at Thainstone agri implements sale or your nearest auction mart or any dispersals locally. Unlucky with the trailer but it's only a plastic , don't think it's an expensive fix. I'm sure Davy is ok but he will remind you now and again just to wind you up.

Aah I think there was a old crack in that lid , Davy must have given it a knock previously 😉
