Thank you very much Pat for your kind offer and please accept my deepest condolences. It certainly isn’t easy, I hope you are doing okay. Thank you for your continued support.
Yeah I'm doing ok thanks, you know urself how it is. Ur welcome I enjoy the content, you do an amazing job fair play to you, must be difficult in the winter though.
Coming to you late excellent video as always love watching your dog work he is so smart and enthusiastic it would be a hard work without him and the sheep look to be in great health fair play to you 👍🏻🇮🇪☘️
Great video. Your lovely farm is a pleasure to view. Davy sure does a good job with the scanning. Hopefully the bad weather is behind you now and Spring is just around the corner. Your sheep management skills are impressive for such a young gal. Cheers from Virginia USA.
Blimey Nicola that’s going to be quite a lambing period. Congratulations on the results. Roxie is one hell of a sheep dog! You talk about increasing feed for the different groups to keep up the sheep conditioning and made me wonder if you also increase your food intake just prior to lambing to help your stamina through the lambing period? I’m just thinking of the amount of energy it will take to be 24/7 working with lack of sleep. Serious question
What turned out to be the overall results? (I quite understand if you do not wish to say.) Do you PD the beef cows as well at an appropriate time? What is the probable current nett sale value for most of the cull ewes and likewise how much would you likely have to pay for purchased in lamb scanned ewes at the same time (if they could be found to purchase - similar breed)? I acknowledge that the likelihood of finding in-lamb scanned ewes at this time is probably slim to none. Where I'm from (East Midlands) youngish ewes (2 - 3 crop) with lambs at foot are much more likely to be up for sale at big money in the Spring eg Mules crossed with a terminal sire.
No worries, over result was 215%. I’m happy with this but 3% down on last year. Yes we PD our cows 4-6 weeks after bulls come out. Sale value of cull mule ewes £140-160. In lamb scanned ewes currently very hard to come by. Like you say, ewes with lambs at foot much more common.
Hello, thank you, yes Tara is all good. I don’t require dogs as much at this time of year with ewes being heavily pregnant but she’s doing well and enjoying a quieter winter.
(some advice) split doubles from triplets - start feeding triplets 7 weeks out - doubles 5 weeks out 18% protein and yes it's hard to manage singles between lamb size and milk but feeding a high protein (20/21%) or straight soya should help with the milk but not influence lamb size .
Thank you for advice - My dad split twins from triplets once and was far too good to triplets. Have never done that since. Just manage the 2/3s together.

Thank you, I probably should but with my wedding just after lambing I’ll need to keep it strict 😆
@ ooooo congratulations! Wouldn’t you lose weight through lambing though? It was just a thought.😁
We all want to hold onto this early spring but I really doubt it will stay😢
Leaking wellies. Put foot into plastic bag before putting boot on. Keep you dry until the new boots arrive
Great tip!
Red sky in the morning shepherds warning but for what weather ?
Possible snow next week…

@@LivestockfarmHER2 Thanks for your reply. Dan
Hi can you make a lambing assistance video?
Hi nicola ,did the other dog not mend

You must have a nice income from those wind turbines
We rent the ground out to the company, not owned.
Inhaling all the spray ain't good for Davie
But best way put lambs on is if get 2 singles lambing together put 2 singles one one ewe match lambs up that way then free ewe put 2 small triplets on

Plenty oats small hardy lambs give a bit soya last 3 weeks for milk
