Soundfile 2: the microphone was again mounted under the license plate. 1.: From 0:00 until 1:48 I just cruised with throttle of max. 20%. The sound is quite gentle as long as revs stay below 2000 rpm. 2.: From 1:48 until 3:04 I drove back the same road, from 2:05 until 2:16 in the 7th gear with full (!) throttle but as you can see the car doesn't even accelerate at all due to lack of boost. Soundfile 1: the microphone was mounted under the license plate, so it didn't really catch the sound behind the car and the tailpipes. But it gives a first impression of how it sounds at all. Fortunately, wind noise was almost none due to the way I mounted the mic.

Another video. The quality is better than the first one, but the acceleration at the start wasn't good. From 0:02 Boost comes above 2200 revs, below there's almost no power and start revs were too low. From 0:07 0-100 approx. 7 sec, way too long :-( 0:20 0-200 approx. 20 sec. This is due to the updated ECU mapping, the tuner reduced torque because the clutches both were slipping even at maximum...

Sorry for that bad quality. The video was recorded wih a cellphone cam, mounted at the dashboard. I will do another video, hopefully in better quality. And, of course, soundfiles will be added soon. Spec list is almost the same as here: www.darksidedevelopments.co.uk/audi-a5-b8-3-0-tdi-cr245-cduc/ version 7 with slight differences.

@@leep4965 How can you evaluate sound recorded by a cellphone lying in the car, not outside. I have other videos which give an impression of the real sound outside, but even those were recorded with a cellphone, not with professional equipment. But, btw, i give a s*** on your opinion.

El sonido sólo puede ser así si retira el convertidor catalítico (Kat) y el filtro de partículas diésel (DPF) e instala una bajante. Luego es brutalmente ruidoso. Incluso si eliminas completamente el escape desde el DPF en adelante, no es mucho más ruidoso que el estándar con el convertidor catalítico y el DPF. Pero, por supuesto, no está permitido conducir sin convertidor catalítico y DPF, así que lo reinstalé todo.

Tengo un sistema de escape no original de Friedrich Motorsport, un sistema de 3". El escape original es de 2,5". Quizás sea porque el sonido es así. Como era demasiado ruidoso para mí, incluso instalé otro silenciador, pero eso no ayudó mucho. Además, el sistema Friedrich sólo tiene un silenciador trasero a derecha e izquierda, lo que puede influir en el sonido.

Bro, many of tuned 3.0tdis has the same 291kmh limiter, but I think soke of the rockets are going to 300… how can u unlock this limiter? Thanks
@kovaa8498: The speed is not limited, but the speedometer is just unable to show higher speed than 291km/h. As you can see, @1:07 the speedometer shows 291km/h, but revs still climb, hence it should show more than 291km/h, maybe more than 300km/h. It is the construction of the speedometer itself that is not able to show more. I don't know whether it's possible to swap to a RS5 speedometer, (the S5 also has the 291km/h limit afaik) into the car. But despite from the shown speed, the REAL speed is less! GPS measured it was 271km/h when the speedometrer says 291km/h and climbed up to 283km/h without any changes in the shown speed. REAL GPS measured max. speed was 283km/h.

fuel consumption when driving slowly?
The consumption shown on the dashboard is NOT the consumption during acceleration, but the longtime consumption during the last approx. 50 km. Within the last 100Tkm it was between 8 and 9 liters per 100km.

Thanks for your comment! There are no more videos than those on my channel. It's not easy to record sound, because of the wind noise that occurs when the mic is placed directly in or at the car. I tried it several times, especially in a tunnel, but it didn't work satisfactorily. 😔 The sound is a result of the straight pipe, which i installed instead of the catalyst and diesel particulate filter, hence the sound goes directly through the exhaust system, which only has one rear silencer. This was way too loud and i replaced cat and DPF for the technical examination that is due every 2nd year here, and did not change back again. So i can't make any new videos. Have much fun with your own car as soon as you got it!

Well, to be honest, that's not an official license plate. Even if looks like one, both the TÜV- and the registration badge (mandatory) are missing. It's a plate you can buy, for example to mark your private parking spot or to specify a car at a dealer. I would be very happy to have it as a original license plate as you can imagine 🙂.

La question. Comment va le EGT et AFR car la mienne j'ai arrêté a 354ps et 750nm. Après en dépassé et on sur chauffe moulin. Alors ?
518 / 5.000 La réponse: Je ne connais pas l'EGT et l'EGR. Le réglage a été effectué par un spécialiste qui a installé plusieurs fois une nouvelle MAP, puis a fait un essai routier. Il a enregistré tous les paramètres, y compris l'EGT et l'AFR, puis a optimisé davantage le MAP. Le tout a pris 2 jours, puis le MAP final était prêt. À 400 ch et 800 Nm, le moteur est passé en mode d'urgence car le HPFP ne délivrait plus assez de diesel, il a donc dû réduire à nouveau la puissance aux 386 ch et 786 Nm spécifiés.

@@zoranzoran2393 Vous pouvez trouver la liste des changements dans la description de la vidéo (en anglais). J'ai fait les modifications moi-même. Le logiciel a été adapté par une petite entreprise spécialisée près de Stuttgart (DE). Il existe certainement de telles entreprises en France aussi. D'ailleurs, les coûts pour les pièces (y compris les jantes, etc.), la conversion et le réglage du logiciel étaient à 5 chiffres, ce qui n'est pas bon marché !

Ich hole freitag meinen a5 3.0 tdi 8t ab (2016er baujahr) und wollte wissen wie das so beim tuning ablöuft, wie krieg ich mehr leistung rein (würde lieber softwäre machen und kein chip z.B) hast du ladeluftkühler turbo etc. gemacht? ich würde gerne einfach so an die 300 ps +-15 das würde mir reichen und halt eben etwas sound, bin den ja probe gefahren und da kam aus dem auspuff jetzt nicht so viel raus, straightpipen geht ja auch mit guten atrappen, aber qualmt der dann? weil das ist kacke für den lack und die polizei weiß sofort was los ist
@jan Lukas Servus Jan Lukas. Wenn du die Fragen und Kommentare durchliest, hast du sicher die Antwort/en schon bekommen. Ein seriöser Tuner liest deine aktuelle SW über VCDS aus, verändert die Parameter und schreibt die geänderten Daten wieder zurück. Eine Kopie als Backup behält er parallel, damit du jederzeit wieder zurück rüsten kannst. OHNE einen Ausbau des Motorsteuergeräts (was man zuweilen noch findet, das wird dann geöffnet, modifiziert und anschließend wieder eingebaut in der Hoffnung, daß das Ergebnis gut ist). Es werden Daten wie Einspritzmenge, Einspritzdauer, Ladedruck uvm geändert. Wichtig ist, daß das richtige Einspritzmengen/Luftverhältnis (AFR) eingestellt wird, damit auch die Abgastemperatur (EGT) nicht zu hoch wird. Ein größerer LLK führt in gewissem Maße zu niedrigeren EGT, aber der Einfluss ist nicht gravierend. Die Einstellungen hat mein Tuner anschließend bei Testfahrten geprüft, wieder korrigiert, wieder geprüft usw. bis das Ganze dann letztendlich passte. Dauerte locker einen ganzen Tag! So ist dann auch gewährleistet, daß AFR und damit EGT passen und der Motor standfest bleibt. Mit reiner SW Anpassung kannst du rund 300PS aus dem Motor holen (hast du den MKB CDUC?), ohne an der Hardware etwas zu verändern. Sound bekommst du keinen besseren hin, wenn du nicht den DPF "frisierst". Selbst ohne jeglichen Auspuff hinter dem DPF habe ich meinen mal in der Garage laufen lassen - er war nur geringfügig lauter als mit Auspuff. Der DPF ist das "schallbegrenzende" Element. Schmeißt du den DPF raus, wird er brutal laut (hörst du in meinen anderen Videos) und bekommst den nicht wieder leise. Zumindest nicht leise genug, daß es der Rennleitung nicht auffällt (in Diesel macht im Leerlauf übrigens kaum Geräusche, sondern nur unter Last, das unterscheidet ihm vom Benziner). Wenn die Software (das AFR) passt, erzeugt der Motor auch ohne DPF keinen (bzw. kaum) Ruß, viele Tuner erhöhen nur die Einspritzmenge und damit rußt der Motor natürlich. Du kannst den Turbolader optimieren, dann bekommt der Motor auch zur höheren Einspritzmenge die benötigte Luftmenge, das sieht man auch nicht äußerlich (im Gegensatz zu einer Downpipe anstatt des DPF). Lass nur die Finger von Tuning-Luftfiltern, die schaden mehr als daß sie nutzen (mehr Fremdpartikel in der Ansaugluft wegen größerer Poren und !ganz wichtig! setzt sich das Öl, mit dem sie getränkt werden, auf dem LMM ab, der dadurch falsche Werte liefert). Wenn du in BW wohnst kann ich dir meinen Tuner in Durlangen (bei Schw. Gmünd) empfehlen! Google einfach mal "Tuner Durlangen".

@@toni95zajas This gearbox, produced by ZF as you mentioned correctly, is officially construed for a maximum torque of 700Nm. My engine produced 786Nm (as you can see here: ruclips.net/video/WEyupePS0PI/видео.html) which is no problem for the gearbox. Many other users have similar troque and never had problems reported. After tuning my engine, it took only 2-3 months when problems occured within the clutches. One of them began to slip, the revs rised faster than the speed (I think it were the even gears 2, 4 and 6) which led to the decision to update programming by reducing torque. Some users say that this problem might be solved by increasing the clutches' oil pressure, but that might decrease their durability. Hence I decided to reduce torque. You can buy reinforces clutches, but they are expensive. Not just the material, but the installation either.

The sound doesn't come from the exhaust. If you remove cat and DPF, all exhaust systems create similar sound, even stock exhaust. But for your information: I use a Friedrich Motorsport 3" system.

@@southdakotaslim7419 Yes, if everything is in good condition. But keep in mind: it's a quattro, that costs power. And the most relevant thing is: the clutches had micro slip, a few weeks later they slipped so much that we had to reduce torque. And the shift times of modern gearboxes are way shorter than this gearbox has.

It's running very rich. Diesel cars don't have to smoke that much, it's a typical sign that the local laptop guy put in the wrong values when doing the fuel adjustments during stage 1 (and ecu update). and on these tdi's it might also end up costing injector seals, which if untreated costs 2000 euros to get fixed (Cheaper if it's just a re-configuration with new seals, more expensive if it's burned out injectors and pretty much a writeoff if the engine hydrolocks). Also remove that quattro sticker, it looks gay cus it's not stock so it's like those kids that put GTI stickers on their golf instead of just having original badges on it.
I purchased stage 2 injectors fom darkside, but the part number was unrecognizable scratched. Hence the programmer had to use the values given from darkside. They did not seem optimized, therefore there was some smoke. But it usually only occures at low revs, hence the tubocharger does not work properly below 2200 revs. There's too much fuel and not enough air, I know.

Thanks man! Besides one time on the "Autobahn" where I surprised an BMW (I couldn't recognize what type it was) with the max. speed (the BMW didn't ride faster than approx. 270km/h) I never tried to beat BMW's. The limiting factor at (my) Audi (and VW either) is the automatic gearbox, which switches noticeable slower than BMW's gearboxes.

Na wie schon vielfach gefragt und erläutert in diversen Kommentaren: KAT/DPF raus, Downpipe rein. Damit kommt der komplette Sound der Zylinder rüber. Nur eben anders als beim Benziner, der auch im Leerlauf zündet, kommt beim Diesel nur dann Sound, wenn er was leisten muss, also unter Last. Welche Abgasanlage dann dahinter steckt, ist letztlich zweitrangig.

@Swiss 90 Nient'altro. Il KAT/DPF è stato sostituito da un downpipe, ecco cosa lo rende così rumoroso. Ho ancora un sistema di scarico con 3" in tutto, ma questo non cambia più il suono in modo significativo.

@@swiss9064 No, ho un impianto di scarico Friedrich Motorsport con 2 silenziatori posteriori (1 ciascuno a destra e a sinistra). Ma senza DPF era ancora troppo rumoroso per me e ho anche installato un silenziatore universale. Ma l'auto è così rumorosa solo in accelerazione o sotto carico.

this is a factory exhaust or you have installed a special one??
You can achieve this sound with all exhaust systems, as long as you delete the CAT/DPF and install a (straight) downpipe. I have installed a Friedrich Motorsport system which has oval tail pipes, which look quite as the S5/RS5 tail pipes. But in the moment I re-installed the DPF again the sound was gone and almost like stock sound.

So wie alle anderen auch: Kat/DPF raus und durch eine Downpipe ersetzt. Dann ist es auch mehr oder weniger egal, welche AGA dahinter sitzt, die klingen dann alle ähnlich.

@@w1234567k Nein das geht nicht. Entweder DPF oder Downpipe. Schau mal in dem Video ruclips.net/video/DW1ZVwHk81A/видео.html bei etwa 0:15, da liegen die Downpipe (links) und der Kat/DPF (rechts) nebeneinander. Der Kat ist in dem kleineren zylindrischen Teil, da wo das Röhrchen nach unten hin "verschwindet", der DPF ist in den größeren zylindrischen Teil oben, wo man die Teilenummer gut sehen kann. Die Downpipe wird statt des DPF eingebaut, da kann man nichts "kombinieren". Und der DPF ist das "soundkillende" Element. Sobald du den drin hast (habe ich zum letzten TÜV wieder einbauen müssen und ist seitdem auch drin verblieben) ist der Sound weg. Selbst ohne weitere AGA in der Garage nicht merklich lauter als mit AGA. Einzige Möglichkeit, den TÜV zu "überlisten" ist es, das Gehäuse aufzuschneiden, den DPF raus zu nehmen und dann wieder zu verschweißen. Fällt aber bei der AU auf, da der DPF softwaremäßig ausprogrammiert werden muß und zum TÜV wieder reinprogrammiert muss, also alle 2 Jahre Umbau- und Umprogrammierarbeit.
