www.youtube.com/@CassieWinter Hello Cassie, thank you for this insightful vid. 🙏 But I would appreciate, if you identify these coping strategies (and your whole self) NOT as 'MENTALLY ILL'. In fact, these emotional and behavioral responses ('freezing'--> procrastination...et al) were at some point in life successful surviving strategies - in a very unhealthy environment. I reject the categorisation 'mental illness', this is clearly seen only from an outside view (the view from others), not from an internal standpoint - from a person who lived through such devastating circumstances. You ALWAYS have the possibility to CHOOSE YOUR ANGLE TO LOOK AT SOMETHING - if you are aware of this opportunity! I think, it is not very healthy/helpful to choose the view from an outer perspective on myself. Instead I can say: 'I' can be proud that I survived. I did what I could. I'm not only the everlasting victim here: I'm a surviver. This is a strength, not everyone possesses. Yes, it costed me much. I'm familiar with set-backs. But I stood up, again and again - every single time... In the present my coping mechanisms are maybe not longer in my best interest. But: At the time I WAS ABLE TO SHIFT MY BEING from 'normal' to surviving mode. Now, with the awareness of my inner workings and my grown capabilities..., I CAN DO IT AGAIN! There are so many helpful tools out to overcome these old programmed patterns ...for more joy in life: from western psychological /therapeutical aid to self-empowerment. From spiritual trust to self-forgiveness and self-love.... Or other cultural views and aids which are totally different but also successful. And - of course - your practical advice here, how to anchor oneself in reality and not to be overwhealmed with too eager self-improvement. This is very good advice! I enjoyed these parts of your vid. This mindset is much more helpful than to observe oneself as BEING mentally ill (the whole being)! Please scrutinize your motivation why you prefer to use this (depressing) terminology (on yourself and generally). You are so much more! You've clearly taken over the view and the terminology of the 'established' western medicine sector. Please don't forget: this sector lives from clients/victims/patients= people in need. They have a very special sight on their clientel. And please consider my comment not as an offense. It is not. This is an offer to re-think the important aspect of ASSUMING YOURSELF ONLY AS 'DAMAGED GOODS'. In fact, when someone gets through with this 'difficult curriculum', he or she will be one of these rare wise beings, empathic, humble and strong: the archetype of the wise, wounded healer. One of the greatest gifts to humanity. Others, so-called 'normal' can't do this - they lack the experience and therefore emerged special abilities... I think, YOU understand exactly what I mean... I clearly can see your intention, the deep wish to help the many, many others (with these kinds of experiences) - love you for that! And now I subscribe to your channel... it's so good advice!🤗 Thank you for your vid, friend - I appreciate your efforts immensely! 🙏 ❤

The only way i found to work with my hyper vigilance and anxiety is constant knowledge reinforcement and internalizing I'm not the only one and the root of where it comes from, while allowing myself to be triggered in actioned situations to release it in real time. It sucks and i avoided this confusing and painful work. I've made alot of progress but escaping and having it on loop what i should have been doing had me stuck for more years than i like to acknowledge 👍🏼

My doctor mentioned hyper mobility to me when I brought up pain and extra movement in my hands, and the deep dive into the way it affects my life. I love singing but my voice is deteriorating quickly. I enjoy dance and acrobatics but they’re risky. Nature is life-giving but I can’t be on my feet for more than 15 minutes and be okay. I have to think of the way I stand and move for hyper extension. Joy!!!

I became an empty nester in September 😢, Then my Mom, my Grandma, my Uncle , his son my cousin, died in October,.. the overwhelming stress, anxiety and insomnia.. destroyed my mental health, and i lost my career job of 20yrs in November. I lost everything else... i have severe depression. There is no motivation for anything at all. ..... im mentally paralyzed, have no hope, or will. I don't want to exist like this anymore.
