Stock is 6000rpm. My car is tuned to kick in at 5500rpm.

@chucks_garage987 yea i own a monte carlo blue 2.4l stroked 2003 eu spec AP1 which is barely still road legal in germany but built for the track. actually one of only a handful in germany with the cr wing legally in the papers. this engine should not sound as choppy at all, especially not in higher rpms! is it still doing that? stock ecu?

Sorry for the rude response. A lot of people who don't know about the car comment stupid stuff here. I'm running Hondata flashpro with bolt ons. I was not happy with the tune on the car, which I had when I did the video - car was running too rich. I changed my tuner and got Jeff Evans (Evans tuning) to tune my car. He's regarded as one of the best in the world with Honda's. I'm happy with how my car runs now, sounds much better and smoother. You can see on a newer video I did to see how it sounds. Your car must be amazing to drive with the larger displacement. I owned 2 stock k24 Honda Accords, and the midrange was a lot stronger than my tuned s2000.

@@chucks_garage987 ah no worries i've been around the webs for a day or two. Yup it feels like a proper sized engine for the S2000 but due to the longer stroke it's redlining at 7500 and cuts out at 8000 - still nice for a street car but the myth is kind of gone. i'm running an emudash black series ecu, not the greatest of all time but it does a decent job and can provide essential data to my phone via bluetooth which actually works longer than 2 minutes sometimes lol. lovely car though, make sure to keep it.

I always thought the redline would stay at 9000rpm with a stroker kit. Would be much more fun at 9000rpm. If your ecu is doing the job, then no need to change/upgrade. I don't plan to ever sell my car. Going to do a full restoration soon. You must keep yours as well!

They did use a Honda vtec sound for the Evo 😂

Those older B series motors make a loud crack when it hits vtec. Sounds amazing!

It does sound similar on video. In person it's much louder!

The S2000 doesn't have the torque and power that most V8's have, but it can be just as much fun to drive!

Yes it's alot lighter than the AMG and handles much better. The Merc is a monster on the highway tho + it sounds amazing. I also own a CLK63.

Highway driving is fine as Vtec only activates when you are using more than 50% throttle. I guess it would use a little more fuel if you were in vtec at lower revs on the freeway.

Yes it has a 6 speed trans. I can't remember exactly what rpm, but I'm sure it was between 3000-3500 at 130km/h.
