Rib13 Bass - Peavey T-40 & T-45 Side By Side Demo
the jazz version is much better as it has a splitable bridge pickup and the neck pickup sounds pretty great
Would've been interesting to know or to heare the difference between active and passive, since this bass can be used in both settings
I love the style
Do you prefer the MIC over the newer ones ??
@@killakicks I judge basses on a case by case individual basis......I like this particular one a lot
I have a couple of those basses and are awesome (after replacing electronics, I did it with EMG preamp and pickups)!
My main gigging basses are an SR605 and SR755. I don't think I could ever go back to Fender after discovering just how ergonomic the SR basses are.
...so much truth!
Your soul patch makes you look foolish.
wow this video is great!
@@eysherrera thank you 😊
4 minutes before he gets to the point.
Hi there, what is a difference between modes you use in this demo? When I could learn 'bout that?
I would have liked to have known about this channel and this video before I bought my ENMM Stingray Special HH 5-String. Even though your demo is of the 4-String version, the examples are well-played and well-recorded. Because I slap so much I always put keen interest into the slap tones. I think I could have watched your video a few times and said “Yes, I’m buying that one on Reverb right now”. Your videos do indeed capture the particular nuances of each pickup selector position. Folk, want to know how an EBMM Stingray Special HH sounds? Watch this video. It is accurate. I must say the fact there’s a neck humbucking pickup doesn’t really come to my consciousness in terms of prohibitive physiology for the “pop” of slap/pop funk. I’m not saying I’m a better player than you. I don’t mean to be comparative whatsoever. I’m just simply saying I might be similar in some ways, but different in others. We are unique individuals. Unique players. Thanks for the great content.
Band aids and safety pins.
My fender elite precision kills my BTB. I love my Ibanez, but it is no P.
Slap is getting old.
Lose the track bro so we can hear the bass
I managed to sit through about two minutes of this goofy shit. 😆 Grow up and learn to just enjoy the music you enjoy.
@fclefjefff4041 if you would've sat through the last two minutes of this goofy shit, I said that at the end.....besides, this is satire....thanks for attempting to watch anyway 😆
I’m selling all my Fender Jazz basses, because I found “The One” an Ibanez SR1800 NTF. I’ve owned many Ibanez basses over the years, and I wish I had kept my Ibanez Grooveline G104. That bass was insanely nice. But now, I’ve found this SR and it just fits. It’s perfect.
Congrats!!! My 2014 Fender Jazz Deluxe V was my number 1 gigging 5 String until I got my Ibanez SR 2605 last year
Bas Rutten plays bass!
Thank you for this extremely useful review. 100% agreed with everything said here! Does anyone have experience with preamp replacement? I think that this is the weakest point on this instrument and that preamp replacing will be a great improvement. Is there any "just drop" solution? Thanks.
Instructional, as always

😂 funny video. It's wrong on literally every single point, but it's hilarious if you're an old boomer. Kinda sad honestly.
Im not a Boomer 🙂
That was awesome. Come by the shop we got some Spectors in very cool and some cool Danelectros too.
okie dokie....will do
I'm a nineties kid (the first cassettes in the neighborhood boombox were Dookie and Nevermind), and saying it wasn't formulaic betrays a serious lack of thinking. Personally, I loved being able to play root notes along with Bush songs while learning the bass. Nostalgia has a huge grip on me (I listened to frickin Better Than Ezra a few days ago), but failing to recognize formulas, trends and influences does a disservice to oneself. Does this get 10/10 fricheks? Yeeeeeeeah
@@TomFrichek I look at Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, that era are the ones who actually set the formula that many after them copied.....I still don't think that's a bad thing: for example, Stone Temple Pilots wasn't an originator but IMO they did that 90s thing the best and better than almost everybody.....as always, thanks for watching and I'm still trying to find out where I can cash in all these Fricheks I've accumulated
Sounds a million times better than the model down the SR305!
I owned an ibanez SR305 and nothing plays like that neck. I found the sound kind of lacking and went back to my peavey Grind 5 for everything. This was years ago.
I didn't know Bas Rutten played the bass
formulas rule OK! gotta have a recipe book...
True!
And let’s not forget that a $20 flannel shirt wound up selling for $250 because of the Seattle formula.
@@TheAxe4Ever Tru dat!
What the hell was this video.... :D I love everything about it.
@@Flexflexible 😆 thanks
HONEST AND FUNNY AS ALWAYS!!
Your resemble Bas Rutten so much, it's uncanny. You're Bass Rutten lol
I literally scrolled down to the comments just to see if anyone else had noticed.
yeeeeeeeeeeeah!
I love it. Having grown up in the late 60's and early 70s, my taste in music is somewhat jaded to that genre. But I do love a lot of 80's music like Huey Lewis, Phil Collins, etc. Thanks for the laughs. Cheers
Morrison and a Pirate 😂😂 Great stuff Spaz !
yeeeeeeeeeeeah!
Badlands!! Yeeeeahhhh!
One of my favorite bands from that era!
Mine as well. Killer band!
The vocal style was heavily influenced by Eddie Vedder. I have heard it referred to as yalling. Like the singers are referred to as yallers.
To the point and hilarious! Another great video, thanks.
I feel sad for those women who can't grow beards 😢. The pain they surely endure both physically and every time they look at themselves in the mirror, face full of metal🤘, just to look beautiful should be commemorated and respected.
Yes, the sound is good but a bit dull in live situation. I changed the pickup using Nordstrand Big split from Ibanez EHB1500 series, include their preamp. It was a direct replacement (P2 soapbar size), and this 605 now sounded great with more punch and articulation 👌🏻👌🏻
Can't tell if you're joking, but I'll bite. Nirvana recorded their first album in 1988 for $600... No corporate $$ involved. Nevermind was released in 1991, In Utero in 1993. Nirvana was wildly popular by 1993 and so were a host of other artists you mention. Cobain played solos, McCready played solos, Kim Thayil played solos, Jerry Cantrell played solos, Billy Corgan played solos. In Bloom is not a pop formula. Black Hole Sun is not pop formula. Would is not pop formula. If you're talking about what came after these bands, I contend they're two completely different times. Early 90s vs mid 90s is huge with the mid 90s doing their best to cop the early 90s and failing miserably (Creed, Silverchair, et. al.).
thanks for watching! definitely mid 90s and after...i thought i had indirectly implied that in the video :)
hahaha yup! some of the worse crap were the crying bands like Stained and The Deftones of the 2000s nonstop crying and whining on the microphone, what a load of whiny twats i hope they read this! !!!YOU SUCK!!!

Did you ever put a Creed Cassette in a Teddy Ruxpin?
@@danieldurham7474 lol no
The SR Series has Narrow string spacing not regular
I have a high end SDGR five and a midrange SDGR 5 string fretless. They're both very good. They don't have the killer tone of a jazz bass, but coupled with my MarkBass rig they sound great. I also have a fretless jazz bass. The Ibanezs are more reliable. The jazz bass neck keeps moving and the electronics aren't great - but it has 'that' sound. The SDGR fretless is now my go to instrument. Great playabillity and action, solid intonation. Only downside is they need a great amp to sound their best.
I have an Ibby bass it is very versatile and a very nice guitar.
I wish they would bring it back with updated features.
Your videos are the best !!!
