Just had this video pop up in my feed. Loved it, and after watching several of your other videos, you've got another fan! I love your style and the straightforward videos. Also love all the funny bits thrown in!
1 sounded kind of muted (like not having so much sustain). I would probably say 3 is the P-bass, but 4 was my favorite by 10% above 3. If that makes sense.
My cloth ears with headphones thought that 1, 2 & 5 were all pretty similar, number 4 sounded quite hot and gnarly by comparison (G&L?) and if I had to say which one was the P bass (assuming there is only one), I'd go with number 3. On crappy, phone, tablet speakers, they all sound the same.
Unlike most studio recordings, these were all recorded direct, flat, and no processing. Just raw straight from bass to interface. Processing and EQing during mix would have made this too difficult I think, so it's raw basses
@@meyersguitars2196 Part of the issue is that RUclips mangles the sound quality as well, raw clips without other things degrading the quality might make it easier to tell
Dude! did you have to use that Maui Blue MIJ Fender P bass in your graphic? I have been trying to resist buying that Bass! but in all seriousness I'm thinking that might be my first Fender, what do you think? oh and I live on Maui too so the color is perfect.
The R F..g identical to me (bassist for 20 years by now); BTW the P-bass in studio tradition - in Eastern Europe the #1 studio bass is considered JB, sound engineers prefer avoiding P-basses for some reason.
I didn't watch the results yet. This is so close nobody would be able to tell any difference without a microscope lol. As a bass player I only really notice 4 and 5 seem to have more definition. Even though all sound like the tone is rolled off. Going to watch the 2nd video now.
I couldn't tell, and I own two p type basses. I think the second to last sounded like an active pickup bass. I dunno. What I've learned from my Fender pbass is that the E string is a bit weak, while my Charvel p/j setup has a stronger and louder E string. It's hard to tell for me.
I would say #2 and #3 were P-Basses, because the tone was woody and rumbling. #4 also had this vibe, but it sounded more like a single coil pickup. Maybe this was a 50's P-Bass?
I'm not sure which is which, they seemed to all sound good to me. The only time I recorded the producer/engineer asked if we had a P-bass. I told him I played a thunderbird. He told me that he had a P-bass, I declined because I wanted to use the same equipment live as we did in the studio.
2 is my favorite, at least for this mix, 4 my least favorite. 3 sounds the most Precision-y to me, but I wouldn’t be surprised if 1, 2, and/or 5 are also P’s.
Don't know it at all...they all sound pretty similar to me...but what do I know? I'm just a drummer trying to learn how to play bass...and great video, btw!😊
All sounded very close to each other!
which one did you like best, Bob?

Hey, thank you for the kind words and stopping by
You’re the man
They was soo similar. Only 4# seemed a bit hot. Even then it wasn’t out of place
#4 sounded the most disctincitve and I would have said it's a jazz bass, not sure if I'm doing it right
VERY NICE VIDEO
do not ever stop making content 😭
Thanks for coming by!

They all sounded good but pretty much sounded exactly the same to me. I have no idea which one it was.
5 sounds better for me, whichever pick up it is!
I am not sure which is the P but feel it was one of the first 3 and then after that they sounded like humbuckers and more compressed.

@@Rib13Bass that makes me feel like the later were a stingray and G&L 1000 maybe. Good video. When will you post the results?

It's not my cup o tea for a color but I still thought it was a nice looking bass
