For sure, we had a ton of milk crates and other plastic totes as well. The Sterlite totes became the main go to because they were cheap. Rubbermaid totes were the ones to have though.
I still have some, they rock!
Back in the 80's, I had a job in a plastics manufacturing plant. I was able to take as many rejects home as I could carry. I still have a few of them!

I never used those new fangled plastic crates. I was old school and had the ones made of metal sides and plastic bottom.
