This is my first none-kit lense. I wanted to do macro and heard it was one of the best options out there, So I figured "what the heck, if I go all out on any 1 kind of lense, it'll be macro". I really love the feel of this lense! I love the focus ring! I use this all the time in macrophotography since I'm constantly switching to manual focus. I've discovered the range limiter makes autofocus worrk quicker too in various situations. Then I tried this for everyday photography.... Oh my! This thing is sharp for portraits, landscapes and everything. I am really happy I invested in this lense. I have to give you a shoutout for showing both none corrected and corrected versions of your samples, thank you! Most people only show edited pics or videos and I'm left wondering how much of their examples were photoshop work or the lense.

I don't know if they changed the glass now but I recently bought the 1/4 and it's amazing 🤩 no loss of detail, softens things up nicely for a dream state, and the bloom is not overwhelming 90% of the time (shooting subjects with light directly behind them is a no go for me, too much bloom) I'm curious now about the tiffen black mist! Thanks!

I owned both. PD sucked. Always worried about dropping lenses. And PD won’t stand up on its own.

I might go for K&F Black Diffusion 1/8 since (apparently) it's one of the more subtle filter around (subtler than tiffen) while being cheap, keeping some contrast but still give halation on light sources. From what I've seen in these comparisons, the 1/4 and above seems too strong and lowers image quality too much like what you had.

Late reply but I LOLed at the “low profile” look of this bag, peak design is literally the opposite of that, it practically yells “ I have expensive shit in my bag” 😂. Good video though thanks 🙏

I have this tripod. For some reason there's a little "play" in the ball head going left to right... even when that little knob at the bottom of the head (by the bubble) that controls the tension of left to right movement is all the way locked down. There's like 1/4" worth of wiggle and I'm not sure why. :/

When I started out with dslrs I bought all my filters in 58mm (to fit my kit lenses). Then when micro 4/3 came out it was a breeze to adapt them to the smaller filter sizes 😎

Where do you stand on using a second dry swab to go over the sensor to dry any liquid that remains (i.e. - you used just a little too much fluid on the first swab)?

This is a great lens to begin with and also a great lens in general. I have the whole Sigma kit lens pack and honestly out of all of them the 16 mm 30 mm and 56 mm. I use the 30 mm the most. It’s sharp and if I need a little bit more close up shots I can always zoom in post edit without a significant amount of quality loss.

I recieved the PD V2 30l as a gift and honestly... I have no idea what to do with it. I tried to set the inner space somehow to be useful...i tried tons of combinations. But I ended up in an autistic rage. :D :D :D I have one zoom (f 2.8 16-55mm) and other four lenses with fixed focal lengths. All for Fuji x-t5 so all the gear is quite small. Saaad. I am just sad. :D 🤣

Amazing, the complexity of digital editing

You just mentioned how you can stack them as a big grid and then said you dont know why the bowens mount is removable 🤦 The only way to make that work would be for the lights to be bigger (making the grid of lights take up more room)

You forgot to lock out the ibis. Go into cleaning, and when it shakes the sensor, you get a message saying it’s now ready for cleaning. You leave the camera on, clean it, then turn it off.

thanks for directing me towards this app. i tried it with the direct wifi on my zv-e10 and it was meh, so then i decided to use a type C to type C cord and PC connection mode on the camera. BAM works with very little latency.

This bag is heavy, doesn’t hold lenses or a body confidently, and if I have small things I have to put it all into one of the sides and can’t see what I’m them until I rummage through. I’ve had mine for two years and never think about using it. I do like the peak camera clip and a tripod head which will take the plate.
