The Groundbreaking Baseball Movie Nobody Talks About. 🚗👑
Billy Dee Williams, James Earl Jones, and Richard Pryor starred in "The Bingo Long Traveling All Stars and Motor Kings" in 1976. The movie was groundbreaking for betraying the The Negro Leagues and their legends, it's also a frontrunner for the most hilarious baseball movie ever.

Baseball's Most Underrated Power Bat featuring Jim Gentile 💎
Просмотров 6 тыс.5 месяцев назад
The story of Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris chasing Babe Ruth's record in 1961 will live on forever. Jim Gentile was quietly having a similar season in Baltimore. He finished third in MVP voting behind those two. All these years later, he's still receptive to talking about his career and is adamant that his would've looked differently had free agency been established. I agree. References at the ...

Japan's Greatest Pitcher Never Played in MLB.

Whether you choose to view him as a left-handed Nolan Ryan before Nolan Ryan, or a glimpse into what Sandy Koufax's career could have been without arm injury... Neither seem to quite do Masaichi Kaneda justice, because he deserved to be a household name in Major Leage Baseball in his own right. He stayed home - and that's okay, but, perhaps you've missed his story because of it. Relevant Player...

Terry Forster - What the Peak Male Form Looks Like 🌮
Come back Hatbilly! We miss you!
Thanks for the vid! O’s had some comical guys back in the day
Donnie was a monster who shot his wife in front of their kids. Yes, that HR is involved, but at the end of the day it comes down to that fact.
I was at game 5 in Anaheim. My Army buddy from Lowell, Mass came to Anaheim where I lived to see me and my wife and we were going to the game. The field was surrounded by security and police ready for us to fly on the field and celebrate. Everyone was going crazy, including me. Then the pitch. The whole stadium was deflated. My buddy Marty was happy, him being from Mass. The rest is history. I just watched the Dodgers win game one of the WS with Freddie Freeman hitting a grand slam. Later I thought of the Yankees pitcher who gave up the pitch, Cortes, and it brought back memories and here I am. It reminded me of the Angel game, hopefully with a different outcome.
Howard hit a Homerun in Cleveland in the early sixties that bounced off the seat backs in the bleachers all the way to the infield
Excellent production! I’m glad Sammy was able to turn things around! I thoroughly enjoyed watching this.
He looks like he could do my taxes or hit a walkoff hr or rob a HR for me
The "14x" joke list (0:36) is juvenile and misleading. Bench was a 14-time All-Star, yes! The rest of the list is inane. 14-time critic of Pete Rose? (Why not 14-time advocate of Pete Rose? Bench went to Bud Selig so many times that Selig finally told Bench to stop trying to find a way for Rose to win back the trust he had lost.) Either way (critic or advocate) 14 is probably too low; but there's no way to know such a thing, obviously. 14-time husband? That's just silly. He has married again, August 2024, for the 5th time. But even Zsa Zsa Gabor was only married 9 times, and Mickey Rooney 8 times. You left out 14-time World Series Run Batted In. 14-time Plate Appearances against Pittsburgh in the NLCS (TWICE, in 1975 and 1979). 14-time Passed Balls in 1969. 14-time Putouts as a left fielder in 1970. 14-time Assists as a first baseman in 1983. 14-time Defensive Chances as a first baseman in 1979. The list goes on. ⚾🤪
I'm such a piece of shit 💩
Jimmy was more like 5'-8" (maybe) and 170 lbs..... but he had freakish strength in his forearms, wrists and hands. Perhaps pound for pound the strongest player who ever played.
Great player...great person
I never booed Eddie, he’s one of my baseball heroes.
No way , in this life or the next, was that guy 250 lbs…more like 300 lbs
Forster and Sir-Mix-A-Lot were ahead of curve on curvy bodies lol
I am reading his book....love it. Great inspiration for anyone who has a disability.
1999,
I believe his '67 no - no was a regulation affair
Eddie, Eddie, Eddie, Eddie......... <bangs on Memorial Stadium bleachers as I chant..>
Did you ask him where the bodies are?
Am I the only one who visualized him in every one of those photos saying "Oooo yeeeaah!"
Imagine being in a club bathroom stall at 2am, in the mid 1980s, doing bumps of blow with the Pittsburgh Pirates parrot and talking about nonsense like solving the world's problems and shit.
God And Jesus Will Always Love You.
Tommy John should be in the Hall of Fame he has more wins than any pitcher non Steroid other than Bobby Williams who played in the 1800s
Pro tip: If you're going to make a video about someone, don't waste a minute+ with a no-point introduction. Jim Gentile deserves better than this.
He personally told me he really appreciated it.
What a true legend!
Dude was a great platoon player.
A proof that Baseball is boring
This is wholesome as shit 😊🙏
Man.. I really appreciate this.. Eric was my uncle and a very misunderstood man.. I feel you did him justice tho.. Les was a terrible human and physically and mentally abusive to My uncle, my mother, my Aunt and grandmother.. I never had a relationship with Les and I'm better for that.. The Pete Rose thing was just as you said it.. there was no disrespect towards Pete or the fans.. he really had pretty bad back problems and like most of us if you stop moving, shit starts hurting.. He felt terrible about hitting Dawson in the face and tried on multiple occasions to apologize and make it right.. My uncle was no racist.. people can believe what they want but, he despised racism and racist alike.. he was a wonderful person and went out of his way to help others.. he was incredibly intelligent and talented.. he was amazing on guitar, paino, drums bass etc.. he tought me guitar and piano when I was young. Unfortunately all the brilliance and talent weren't enough to control the addiction and unfortunately it cost him his life.. he died the day before my birthday in 94 and I haven't cared about my birthday since.. life can be cruel sometimes.. Anyway, a lot of people have painted him in a bad light and I feel you were very objective and honest and I truly thank you for that.. I think he deserved it.. it's hard to believe he's been gone for 30 years.. and he was number 30.. My mom still misses him everyday.. we have so much memorabilia from when he played.. so many autographed baseballs, bats, gloves, pictures etc.. my parents hallway still represents for him.. I miss him.. I hope he's at peace.. I hope to see him again some day.. Thank you for making this video.. all my best. M. Cifelli
Also, I don't know if there's a way to direct message me but, if you can, reach out to me.. I'll send you some awesome 80's Padres gear that I got from my uncle.. thanks again
I'm really glad this video made its way to Eric's family. I appreciate the kind words, and the update on how you all are doing all these years later. When putting these videos together, I end up watching hours of a specific player. I have to say I really ended up rooting for Eric when he was on the mound. He seemed to have a very magnetic personality. It's a complex emotion, really liking a player, but trying to take care in not championing the drug use, trying to steer it towards something of a cautionary tale. It'd mean a lot to me if you see fit to send me a keepsake of some kind. But I'd prefer to not have my mailing address here on RUclips. You could email me at: milbhatbilly@gmail.com
@Hatbilly hey man. Thanks for getting back to me.. I wasn't sure you'd even see my message. I reached out to my mom and sent her the video.. she thought it was great and fair to her brother. She's actually done several interviews and features since my uncles untimely passing. I mentioned that I wanted to send you some memorabilia and she's on board. In fact she is going to reach out to my Aunt Cara Mia (Eric's widow as you know) and see if there's anything she wishes to contribute also. She still has quite a bit of his old gear and whatnot. I'll send you an email.. my last name is Cifelli just in case you get an influx of emails. Thank you again, I'll be in touch. Michael
@harryparatesties5476 Thanks again, Michael. Honestly, that's a level of kindness I haven't experienced much in my days of making RUclips videos, as you could probably imagine. 😂 It'd be a first in terms of receiving something like that. I have a pretty bare bones collection, which comes as a surprise to some. This video was made while I was still getting the hang of it all. Maybe in time, I could re-record it with my new microphone, and update that I've spoken with you all. That'd be awesome.
@@Hatbilly hey.. check your email. Hope all is well
Nice double play by first baseman
What can I say? Best ever hitting and defensive catcher. When I was A kid, he was the guy to look to for A role model. He was what the game was all about. I have only seen him once have a look of discontent in regards to the game. He was asked about Rose. I interpreted his response as one of disappointment. "If you have kids, what do you tell them about the rules?" If professional athletes can actually be heroes he is on the top of the list. Thank You Johnny.
At least psycho is wearing pants
Gay dude
Got em on that double up! Probably the only way for two adults to play tic-tac-toe without it ending in a draw.
Nice clip man
WTF is this audio mix?
I sure remember Jim In the majors. Such a great talent. Thank you for sharing.
Another great video thank you
Throwing sidearm doesn't take velocity off and throwing submarine only takes away a few mph. The reason they don't usually throw hard is they are usually typical pitchers who were told they didn't have the movement or velocity to make it to the big leagues without funk. Byung Hyun-Kim used to throw mid 90s submarine and now Ryan Thompson can reach 94 throwing submarine. Unlike many it seems in the comments. I believe if you're throwing the balls in even a slightly upwards motion you're a submariner because even sidearmers don't lift their arm up throwing. Everyone else brings it in some way down.
He's been forgotten about.
The platoon of Lowenstein and Roenecki were the best leftfielder in baseball.
300 innings a season (or close to it ) almost every year in the 70s. And for some weird reason he was considered “soft”. Go figure!
Great review. Will have to check "Bingo Long" out.. what a great cast. Really liked "Soul of the Game" (@6:02).
This film is fire. I loved the Hispanic angle that Pryor's character was pursuing.
You have to get more views on your videos! They are always well researched and unearth some really great history
This movie was such a joy for me growing up. Used to offer up an "invite pitch" when we played stickball.
80s cable TV. We loved it. Leon Carter.
love this movie and i think you mean "portraying" not betraying
Wockenfuss stance reminds me of mickey tettleton. Who was a oriole and a tiger......huh. i guess everything is connected
I love this movie
Loved this film as a kid!!! Appreciate it being featured for it’s brilliance. Phenomenal work Hatbilly!!!!
