Good video. A lot of history in a short time frame. I was 17 the first time I heard The Pretenders and paid attention to it. I was in Portugal, where I am from, and an American guy I met on vacation gave me a cassette (lol) of Learning To Crawl. I had heard one of the songs before, but after I listened to the entire album, I enjoyed. Soon after that, the same American guy sent me by postal service all the way from the USA Pretenders I and II. I liked those even better. I think The Adulteress, Tattooed Love Boys, and Precious are my favorites, still today. Later on, I moved to the USA and married that guy. And we both saw a lot of concerts through the years, and one of them was The Pretenders, at a small venue in California, and definitely one of my favorite concerts. It was intimate. Chrissie has said that the song she hates to sing the most is Brass in Pocket. I guess she is over it.

Thanks for taking the time to do the research and adding all the little details with the pictures and videos that are usually left out, especially about his military service. Kris Kristofferson also served, he flew helicopters in the Army in Germany which is probably why he and John hit it off right away. Johny Cash also served in the Air Force for 4 years. Love her hate her she was witness to one of the ugliest events of all time the death of John Lennon I met a girl who was there that night she was with her boyfriend across the street when she heard the shots thought first it was a car backfiring but when she heard the screams they knew it was bad. They went across and a small crowd gathered and they said that guy right there with the book is the one who did it. Shela was her name and they stared at Chapman when the cops came and asked can you describe the man who did this? They all said yeah that's the guy with the book and glasses. The cops went over and started to ask questions Shela did hear his answer you'll find all the answers you want in this book after that the cops took him away sensing a riot might break out they got him awas ASAP. I met Yoko once at an art gallery outside Chicago about 30K people showed up to see her and as she went to shake hands with the people I was the third person to do so was great seeing her

Its a great story hon one of the best. I remember the first time I heard this on the radio on WLS in Chicago can't remember the DJ I want to say Larry Lujack came on and said we have this new song by Don McLean and its called AMERICAN PIE its a story starts out about the day Buddy Holly Ritchie Valens and Big Bopper were killed in 1959 and goes on to tell the events that happened in the 10 years since. Now we don't play songs as you know that go over 8 mins except HEY JUDE by the Beatles but we're going to play this all the way through and its pretty powerful so lets give this a listen AMERICAN PIE by Don McLean here we go.......I was blown away I never heard anything like that a week later a buddy of mine got the 45 and played it for like an hour straight. Today it still moves me to tears when I hear it there is a video very well done that uses images of the meaning of this song its one of my favorites of all time thanks for posting this one
