This is a FANTASTIC Template set! I have built my first 5 necks using the method shown in Steve's video with BEAUTIFUL PRECISION. I liked these templates so much I invested a lot more into his other template sets and jigs and have yet to be disappointed. Absolutely worth every penny spent!

wish we could get those templates here in new zealand they look amazing its the currenty cost and shipping that makes it unreachable but love the videos sub

I like the detail. :D I also love the home made tool you use to drive the insert in. I don't trust my hands to told things exactly perpendicular, especially when using a fair amount of force.

We never did get to see the final couple of videos showing the final procedures 😢

Without searching for the info, from the grain I can see, running butt to headstock , is that a quarter sawn piece of high quality maple. I haven't seen a butt end-grain photo to answer my question .

How about tapping the wood with a tap use your drill press will line it up straight turn the chuck by hand when you get half way in back it out finish it by hand with the tap handle

Took a bass making course many years ago at least 22 from lmii “I think” it was great, bass came out nice , now with a full shop and a few more skills . Ive always wanted to build a strat start to finish but had no idea where to start … now I know

Where do you get the acrylic neck templates? Lots of acrylic headstocks and other things on the internet but I've not seen anything like the full length neck, fret and side view that you are showing.

This was absolutely the right level of detail for anybody who is considering doing this.

If you don’t have a shop-quality drill press and a special neck jig that can accommodate your fretboard, find a professional luthier who does. Because this has noob improvisation fuckup written all over it.

always informative excellent videos, Its just like the were done by a professional and that's because they are, kudos.

Since you use the drill press you can also use that for your 2-nut insert tool to start the insert in the hole exactly perpendicular. I just drop the head down and turn the drill by hand to get it started very straight and perpendicular. Then release it from the press and finish it off with a ratchet. Maybe a little more complicated and unnecessary, but if your after perfection 😉

is it possible to install these reinforcement rods from the back of the neck? Without removing the fretboard?

I think it is important to be very precise and detailed in building guitars, it matters in the end result. Therefore, I definitely appreciate seeing the right way to do this. Thanks.

Simply incredible, thankyou so much for sharing all this information. I am building my first guitar, I have minimumal woodworking expereience, and very high expectations (bad combo). I've spent months planning and figuring out how to appraoch it. I recently got access to a laser cutter, and now I've 3D modeled the guitar I'm building using most of the techniques you've demo'd in your videos. I'm trying to make my first build as straight forward as possible, and templates are the key.
