We absolutely love our van. We bought it quite cheap, expecting it would need work doing at some stage. I think a lot of our problems came from driving the Dempster Highway. That is an 1800 km rutted dirt road which is very hard on vehicles. We had well over 10,000 miles before we had to spend any money. But just make sure you have some in reserve for when you need it. But definitely get those gears checked soon.

I pd 30,800. For my van which I say was over what I should’ve pd but I was dying to get a van n I had seen the Beans with theirs so I paid for it.. plus I took a flight from NY to Detroit n drove 2 hrs to Grand Rapids with my granddaughter n fam to pick it up… didn’t want to return to NY empty handed.. it had 82miles..n it’s homey inside… guess that’s what I paid for… I thank U for the feedback.. mayb someday I will bump into Uboth if I get the nerve to drive by myself.. until then I’ll continue to watch the joy that u both bring to us viewers.. again.. thank U🌹🌹🌹🌹

@@Sxelnlgs That's still a lot cheaper than a more modern one (and a newer one could still have problems.) Might be best to have a mechanic give it a good look over for peace of mind. Thanks for following along, if you see us on the road, come say hi 🙂

It’s definitely worth getting off the main roads, we’ve been places that are absolutely stunning, and no-one else there! The coast is definitely like NZ. Vancouver Island was freakishly so, even some of the trees looked like Pohutukawa.It makes the journey feel a bit like home, just on a bigger scale.

We enjoy it there. Take a spade. You also have to walk over a sand dune. There’s also a hot water beach on the east coast.

We had absolutely no problem with the toilets being close, no smell. It's a smaller cabin so less people using the toilet. It might be a problem if you were in economy.

@@jeanspeer9894 thanks so much! We use mostly Google for navigation, and iOverlander for finding free camps. We also use road trippers for mapping out a route and things to see along the way. Hope that helps.

Were all the dogs in the pub when you guys stayed there? There seemed to be a lot of dogs. And yeah, Rodger did an amazing job, but I think he suffered for it later on.

@@NomadLifeKiwi hahaha. Spoiler alert! Yes there were a couple of dogs running around. One was named Mallo and was owned by a lady walking the Canada trail. She ended up working there while waiting for the Northwest Territories to open up again to travellers. An awesome story!

@@TheWayneReport Gawd, imagine walking up there. We saw a couple of cycle tourists and thought "no way!"

I did ask you if I could use it, so I hope you don't mind. You are way braver than us! I would have needed to be well-sozzled and about 20 years younger to have even considered it! And I made Mike drive on the wrong side as I was terrified of the drop-off.
