Happy to be with you in Durango and Mesa Verde, I visited these places more than 40 years ago....and I loved the Colorado. Thanks you to remember me this time
Silverton has a famous ultra marathon called the Hard Rock 100 mile, lots of vertical climbing, so cool to be trans planted back into a winter wonderland. that place has such a long winter. those roads would be so scary to drive in the winter, I'd be scared you'd slide off the edge on some ice or something.
Did you do the ultra marathon? Sounds crazy to me! We did meet a guy who is almost 70 and regularly cycles from Durango to silverton! Yeah, I wouldn’t want to drive the road in winter. Or in the opposite direction!

@@NomadLifeKiwi I definitely have not run it, furthest I've done is 100km, this one's 160km. Looks like a cool town, glad you got there
My Mum and Chris went on the Durango- Silvertown railway - they absolutely loved it .
It looks great .
It does look cool. It was still off season when we saw it and wasn’t going all the way to Silverton.
We loved Durango, if you visit the area again the steam train to Silverton offers really stunning scenery, highly recommended!
I imagine it would be amazing! It was still in winter hours, so wasn't running to Silverton back in April.
This has to be one of the most beautiful areas in the US
It is stunning for sure!
You were so close to our friends in Pagosa Springs!
We thought about going there, but the weather was pretty bad
8:21 That road is seriously scary! Guardrails would be nice...
@@brentsummers7377 it was scary! Apparently they don’t have guardrails so they can shovel the snow off the edge. But they would be nice!
