Chasing Shadows is their best album. Everything else, with the exception of SNM, sounds out of place or unsure of itself.

Hi Mike. I see you're going for the double with JT. Classic choices for the food-related albums. I can remember watching Delia Smith at the very start of her TV career. She used to appear regularly on the local BBC news programme for East Anglia. Roger Daltrey definitely got the short straw having to sit in the bath full of baked beans! P.S. If you've not seen it, check out the video for Joe Ely's new single 'Didn't We Robbie'. It includes lots of stunning previously unseen photos from Ely's personal archive of him with the Clash.

Wanna Bee Steve, nice pick on the WHO album. I always found that to be so gross, sitting in a vat of beans. Those could float up into all the wrong places lol. I am a fan of baked beans, add some molasses and brown sugar, good to go. Of course every visit to the UK I have them for breakfast which I still don’t understand lol

The Doyen have you lost your sense of self 😂A not very tasty cake (a bit chewy in the wheel layer), Remove Daltrey & I'd like the baked beans although I think I could only do a quarter a tubs worth, never tasted a cartoon cake so hard to rate it. That Just Mustard is brilliant. I think Beggars might be my favourite.....today!

In Rogers book he mentions how cold the beans were as you stated so they tried to warm them up and had it so hot the beans started cooking lol from one extreme to the other. good luck in the contest!

I love Let it Bleed. Gimme Shelter is near or at my very top of all time rock songs! I love Kula Shaker. That one I gor this winter and it was my first on vinyl. I don’t have the previous two but I have both of the Jeevas albums.

Thanks for all the kind words and the support that you have given me. I had forgot all about that Stones album, such a great choice and I loved hearing the information about the cake. How could I forget my favorite group with The Who Sell Out. You are putting me to shame. I am not really familiar with Kula Shaker and will have to check out your recommended album as well.

My favourite Who album

Very noisy tracking, and lotsa pops / clicks on 1st play, and still noisy after cleaning. Returned them for a refund. Worst sounding new records I've ever purchased. Shame on you for not disclosing how badly they sound !

I almost ordered a couple Of Dead Can Dance on the 4AD vinyl, the prices are good online and I always enjoyed the band on my Cd's in the past. I missed out on an entry for Chicago Steve, glad to see your entry, and congrats on winning Lloyd's contest ! I love my B.A.D. debut, and interesting that John Lydon and Joe Strummer are in the " Medicine Show" video ! I really like Mick Jones.. "The Only Important Thing These Days Is.. Rhythm and Melody" Rhythm and Melody" !! 😆 Rush !

Agree with your #1. And fully agree about your point about what could have been if the Kinks had a George Martin (or Jimmy Miller). Someone to rope in the concepts (and egos) in a trustworthy way -- and yet encouraging all the creative whims and giving them their best options. The Kinks thrived despite it. As the 70s dragged on, and the Kinks made their own studio, I think it got worse for them.
