Hi Christopher, yes if I didn’t have Siouxsie’s Nocturne already, it would be a must. But notwithstanding that, there are some surprises on it from the original and the artwork is different. I buy all Strummer stuff, so that one’s a no brainer for me. Many thanks for kind words. Mike
Hi,Chris here. The cover of the M&S is Girl Jiving. Taken by Roger Mayne in 1957. There's an exhibition of his photos coming up at The Courtauld in London next week. Should be worth a look.
We're cut from the same cloth. My desire for more good records won't cease.. There are 2 Gene Clark RSD titles I will look at.. We'll, see ! The used vinyl over here is plentiful UK, Japanese, U.S. and various European pressings. The Bowie RSD release looks very good ! Nice rundown, Mike 🎵
I hope you and the gang are having a great time JT. I suspect the luggage going home is going to be a lot heavier than when you left home! 😂 I noticed the Gene’s and thought of you JT, and yes the Bowie and Joe look great. Take care my friend! Safe travels! Mike
Having fun in Siam ! And yes, I'm bringing back about 30 records, or so. We're driving out to the country today, near the Cambodian border. Jum and Sean are sad to leave, and me too ! Connecting through Singapore, then San Francisco to Reno. Saw Wa Dee from Thailand 🇨🇷 ( red white and blue like our countries ) Thailand translates as the free land !
None of the record stores here participate, so that makes things easy for me, and helps the pocketbook. Some interesting choices Mike, good luck in getting what you want. Cheers.
Nice video Mike! I’ve never bought anything on RSD, so this might be the first year! The Cramps, The Slits In The Beginning and Bowie records look cool.
Hi Mike. It's a good RSD this year. I have 6 on my list at the moment - Alex Chilton (I have this on CD, so I don't really need it), 2 Gene Clark double albums (I have one of these on CD, so again I don't really need it), Galen and Paul (the signed artcard makes this interesting), John Lennon (but will all of these tracks be on the 'Mind Games' CD box set?) and Lowell George ... I look forward to seeing your video after RSD.
Some great wants Mike. Lots of completist must haves. I think l'll be attempting to get the Cramps, Murphy, Viv and Slits (regardless of how bad it may be!)
Very tempting this year Mike, I think it could be expensive. That Peter Murphy could be particularly interesting. How copies of Joe’s Rock Art have you already got?? 😂 Mike
Mike, right off the bat the Strummer record is a none brainer. Might have to track that down. Our list might be different but the others I’m interested in include Neil Young, Yusuf Lateef, Alex Chilton, Ian Hunter, Dr. John, Television, Gene Clark, Siouxie, Black Crowes and Gil Scott-Heron. Maybe I’ll buy a lottery ticket tonight 🤣🤣. Cheers mate.
Yes, lottery win definitely required! So much great stuff this year Jack, and your chosen ones look great. I think the Television live album looks great, and yes, Joe’s a must. Mike
I think I had 4 or 5 items I wanted. There were a lot of live albums but I just never go back and play them. I did try to find more obscure items. I am looking for that Strummer one also.
I thought you’d like that Cramps EP Steve, it looks good, I’m going for that. I think there are some very good ones this year. The Joe is a must for me although I already have several copies?!? Mike
I'm sure The Slits In The Beginning has been out before. It's as rough as a bear's arse live tracks. I listened to it twice & gave it away to a friend, a Slits fans, telling him: 'You'll listen to this twice.' It was that sort of a release.
Hi Mike, I’ve also had to cut down my original want list as it was over 20 and would have cost an absolute fortune! I have three must haves - 86 TVs, Miles Kane & OMD. Other targets are The Chills, Joe Strummer, Billy Bragg, Fleet Foxes. I considered The Cramps & Morrissey 12”s but my local store are charging just too much for them. Out of interest which self seal outer sleeves do you use for your records? Cheers
Hi Steve, I use the Blake sleeves with sealable flaps. They are very transparent and give total protection. I’m not at home at present but with send you the actual website address when home. I use Mofi’s for inners. RSD seems to have lots of great releases this year. Strummer, Outsiders, Television, Peter Murphy and Cramps appear to be my main targets…..but it changes all the time! 😫 Let’s see what happens, but I hope you get at least your three must haves. Mike
@@pc31thevinylpoliceman Thanks Mike. I use mofi equivalent inners and double pocket outers for my coloured vinyl and gatefold sleeves for gatefolds (surprisingly!). I’m after decent outers for my other LPs and I like the sealable ibex you use. If you could send me the website details that would be great. Cheers
Hi Mike, my four are the live Television one, the Propaganda one and the one by The Fall. The David Sylvian/Nine Horses 2LP set is the only one that I will pursue on line if I don't manage to get it on the day. I'm doing alright but it's coming up to the first anniversary of my wife's death which might knock me back a bit.Buying records is excellent therapy though.
Hi Colin, Glad to hear you’re doing alright. I feel for you, but keep focused on the positive…buy more records!! I think this is going to be an expensive RSD. I like the ones your focussed on, I really hope you can get them. Stay positive my friend! Mike
I need to take a closer look at the list. Peter Murphy is a must, of course. The Strummer looks appealing, but I have a copy already as well. Of course, the Morrissey and Siouxsie appeals to me. Now that you mention it, The Outsiders sounds good!
Yes I also think the Peter Murphy looks a must Brian. I just can’t not go for the Joe, I even bought another Acton the other day…..that’s 6 copies now between vinyl, CD’s and bootlegs + a book about the gig!! The Outsiders is very interesting. It’s going to be very raw garage, the earliest Adrian Borland. Mike
I think this is the most interesting list I've seen for a few years - Bowie, Television (and a box set of four Tom Verlaine albums), Pixies, Talking Heads, Gene Clark, Mavis Staples, Willie Nelson, Lowell George, Replacements
I totally agree K. It’s going to be expensive! 🤔 I’ve missed the 4 Tom’s, I’ll have to relook at that. I guess my mystery have’s are Joe (although I have several copies already!), The Outsiders (Adrian Borland), Cramps, Peter Murphy, Television……. I’ve got to stop, it’s turning into the whole list?!?!? 😂 Take care. Mike

You were right, the Peter Murphy one is brilliant. It has some really interesting covers on it especially the Iggy, Pere Ubu and Nine Inch Nails covers. I had to get Joe Strummer, I just couldn’t leave that there. No money left now 😂😂 Mike
Hi Mike, i think i have only ever purchased anything from RSD, a Paul Weller single called "flame out" many years ago. i see Weller has another RSD red vinyl single for this year so i am hoping the Aussie stores get it. from your list the Elton John is probably the one that would interest me most. - Lloyd
How about the Bowie and the Lennon Lloyd? I thought you’d like those? Yes, must get Reggie (but don’t tell Ben 🤫🤐).
