    Nice comparison review! Can you provide any feedback on reliability concerns with the newer GLE SUVs, especially the recent changes MB is making to their engines. I’ve heard horror stories of people getting stranded with their GLE. I’m looking to upgrade from a ‘21 X3 M40 to either X5 / M60, or a GLE 53 SUV. Test drove both already, just wondering about any potential issues.

    Driven both. V6 f sport with active stabiliser pack is definitely not boat like or soft, especially in sport + mode. It drives flat in corners. Older one with Takumi pack feels more luxurious and comfortable with better quality interior than newer one and hasn’t sold out to cheapness like touch screen only of new one. Engine is a peach. Sport plus has no lag…is there something wrong with your test model??? Door bins better on older one too, larger and usefully hinged. Motorway speeds utterly silent on older one and good on new one too. Tyres noise down to choice of tyres. New one is louder under acceleration. Give me the older one every day of the week. In fact I bought one over the newer one. That’s how much I prefer it. I disagree about body role and stability. It takes corners just fine but mine has active stabiliser pack and corners on rails. The older one is definitely classier and more premium inside.

    Great reviews. Thanks. I live in Canada and the BMW X5 40i, similarly equipped to the top spec 500h, costs nearly $20,000 CDN more than the 500h. Would you pay that much more to get the BMW? I know the BMW is better, but will likely depreciate faster than the Lexus over 3-5 years of ownership.

    Schedule the rattle visit far in advance and request a loaner. My dealer straight up told me rattles need a few days just to diagnose. They take multiple test drives in different weather conditions, hook up sound equipment, and give ample chance to replicate the rattle. I’ve had loaners for weeks at a time for rattle visits. In only 1-2 days it is highly improbable that the rattle will fully get resolved unless it’s painfully obvious and even then it might not be done to your liking.

    I test drove the X6 40i and the Gle 53 Amg on the same day. And i can firmly say BMW Drives far better than a Mercedes. Only difference i noticed was that the features in the Mercedes are more than a BMW but i kinda felt these features are something that i am never going to use. I was not in a mood to compromise my driving pleasure for some gimmicky features. Also, even though the Mercedes have more BHP and Torque as compared to the BMW i felt that the BMW is a bit quicker and faster than the Merc. I finally settled for the BMW X6 xdrive40i since India only sells this model. Also, guys who are confused between the X6 and Gle 53 AMG , go blindly buy the X6, you will thank me later.

    Seriously doubt if the 2024 M3 RWD and LR trims can match a stock 2024 MYP in doing a sharp left at 36 MPH, then an immediate curve to the right, as seen in this clip: ruclips.net/video/D_45EO5BauU/видео.htmlsi=5kF4SGUUTH9Jt-e_ to urgently clear an intersection safely under yellow. Test drove the 2024 M3 RWD on February 9, 2024 accompanied by a Tesla rep. Thought the POS (Not Point of Sale lol) was going to roll over when I did a quick left/right maneuver at only 40-ish MPH on a straight/level roadway. Tesla rep advised the 2024 MYP has a significantly more superior road-holding ability, and the dude told the truth! The stock 2024 MYP has it all, my friend.

      Thanks for your comment and feedback and video shared to your channel. In my video I compared Base Model 3 to the Base Model Y. Referencing MYP to a base Model 3 would no be relevant, just for the fact that base Model 3 has 235 wide tires and MYP has 275 in the rear which will help it to grip better with much sportier suspension. I have made a separate video on MYP comparing it to Model Y Long Range.

      Yes, this is not apple to apple comparison but rather to discuss that Model 3 is a more refined, mature, polished product versus Model Y, and I mean even Model 3 before the 2024 refresh. Also this is not just from handling perspective, obviously sedan would have an edge with lower center of gravity, but suspension feedback, sound insulation and how Model 3 moves on the road: it feels more upscale than Model Y, at least in the current version.

    One is a crossover type and the other is a sports car type, do you really need to test drive. You recommended to look at other brands if you want crossover 😂.

      Thanks for the feedback. The point I was making is basically how Model 3 is a more polished product than Model Y. If space is the biggest concert then Model Y is a way to go, but if you are just looking for EV and can live with Model 3 then I found it to be a better finished product in terms of premium feel: better suspension, better sound insulation.

      Thank you for sharing your feedback. I'm uncertain whether the experience I described in my video is unique to the particular Ioniq 5 I drove or if it's a common observation across all models. I noticed that, rather than smooth jumps, it exhibited a slightly rugged sensation, especially over larger road imperfections. Additionally, having had the opportunity to test drive the new Ioniq 6, I found its suspension to be notably more refined and improved. However, it's possible that newer iterations of the Ioniq 5 have already addressed this issue.

      Thanks for the comment. That is correct. I just happened to make a video on the base/standard range model Y and Long range RWD showed up on Tesla's website. Since my video reviews primarily focus on driving feel/experience then Long Range RWD will be slightly faster which I think will be almost not noticeable. As we found out weight is the same for both cars as folks who purchased Base RWD Model Y can now unlock extra range and it will become a Long Range model. So essentially it's the same car. Can't wait for the Juniper Model Y to see all the improvements.

    RFT’s are a huge advancement in the automobile industry and, of course, BMW is blazing the trail with this innovative technology. To start with, BMW OEM tires, Continental or Bridgestone’s, after a flat/puncture, are good for 150 miles, not 50 miles. What is your engineering background and can you point to any statistical analysis to back up your assessment of RFT’s?

    • @100miledrive
      @100miledrive 14 дней назад

      Thank you for your feedback. In my recent review, I approached the topic from a consumer standpoint, sharing my firsthand experience with Run-Flat on my X3 M40i equipped with adaptive M suspension, highlighting how it detracts from the driving pleasure. Following up on this, I've released an updated video focusing on RFTs after testing the 2024 BMW X3 30i, where I briefly discussed my experience with RFTs after driving several BMWs on the channel as well as the latest generation 4 RFTs. While the concept behind RFTs is commendable, aiming to provide added safety and convenience in the event of a flat tire, my experience with the stiff ride quality of my X3 M40i was far from ideal. Sacrificing comfort for the potential rare occurrence of a flat tire seemed disproportionate and compromised the overall driving experience.

      So you need to ask him what his engineering background is when he is only sharing his viewpoint as a consumer? Did this look like a scientific video to you? Cant have an opinion unless you are an engineer? Lol...for your information, alot of consumers feel the same way about Run Flats as this guy does. You dont need an engineering degree to feel the difference. Run flats offer piece of mind in case of a flat but rides harsher due to the stiffer sidewalls, but regular tires ride nicer but you will be standed in the small chanve you will get a flat and dont have a spare. Dont need an engineering degree to see that its about compromise.

      @@100miledrive Thanks your for the response. I initially may have viewed your opinion as being supercritical of BMW for even the idea of using RFT’s. I get it. My 2013 335i came equipped with Continental RFT’s. Although I thought the concept was very cool, I did not like the ride, lots of road feel and overall bad driving experience. Ride comfort was missing when comparing the 13 335i to my my previous ride, a 2010 328i. Looking at the specs on Continental ‘s, I found that, when punctured, the tire could be driven up to 150 miles. To get to the 150 mile mark stiffer tire side wall construction was required to meet that distance requirement. Unfortunately, ride comfort was out the window. I ditched the Continental’s for Bridgestone DriveGuard’s. The DriveGuard’s only had a 50 mile range post puncture and, overall, a far more comfortable ride with a higher mileage rating. Now driving a 2018 540i with OEM Pirelli tires. The Pirelli’s also have a 50 mile post puncture driving range and, IMHO, provide a more smoother comfortable ride then the Bridgestone DG’s. I believe, in part due to auto manufacturing bettering suspension tuning to work with RFT technology. Any BMW M variant is going to have a stiffer ride. To get a more comfortable ride on your X5 Consider switching to an RFT wheel/tire combination that provides a softer, smoother ride. It may not give you the level of performance to match the capabilities of your X5. Going to be a trade-off between comfort or performance.

Will do however the suspension will be much nicer I was actually pleasantly surprised at how comfortable the seats were because I always thought the one problem with sport is the seats are too firm but they’re actually nice I was also thinking about getting the sport sticker tag is $80,000 and you could get the RX 500 H 65,000 and if you want ML Audi and technology package; with some upgrades; you can still get it for 70(000 so the price point is nice.
