In this video, I'm swatching and reviewing the Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet and Rouge Allure lipsticks from Chanel Beauty. I love thisChanel's lipstick formulas in general, but this line from them are so comfortable to wear as velvet matte and satin matte lipsticks. Usually matte lipsticks are so drying! Not these ones. Detangling fee at a NATURAL hair salon is crazy, esp at yr length. I feel like a detangling fee should only be for extreme scenarios:heavily matted, long hair, loc comb out, etc
@@MyWildLifeAsNia I honestly can’t believe the prices I’ve seen natural hair stylists charge for their services. Even for my length of hair which is above my shoulders.
This hair looks like mine. First natural hair video I've seen that reflects my own. It looks healthy and soft and short. It doesn't need to be justified with "big chop". My hair has never been bra strap length and never will be. It's not lack of care, it's genetics. The jheri curl gave me my most length, to my shoulder. But my hair was still fine texture, thin, and very wet. Remember the stains?😅 Not practical. No hands want to run through that oily mess, not romantic! Keeping my natural hair moisturized and in twists gets me shoulder length hair, but it only shows length when pressed with heat, it's still thin, and a whiff of humidity destroys the look. So easy hair care means my hair looks like hers. It's cute. It's real. The appeal to status seeking individuals will be limited. It's not the "look".
Do you detangle with a brush?
If you looking for a man wear your natural hair if Not Keep wearing your weave and wigs!
I have been using baby wipes all my adult life after going number 2 😂
Especially if you shower everyday, you should def lotion your entire body to avoid irritation and drying out the skin barrier.
‼️‼️‼️
New subie because of the title!😂
Welcome to my channel, bookie!
There is something MAGICAL about washing my hair! Every time I wash my hair I feel sexy and brand new. I wash my hair at least ONCE a week! Twice is enough for me though but I would love to do it daily but I have a husband and a kid and I just don’t have that kinda time 😂😂😂 But congrats 🥂
Thanks hun. It’s such a time to be alive with a clean scalp and hair. Love that for you. 🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾
Yay! This video is great queen, team shrinkage😊
thank you ☺️
I'm 17, north african, and I've struggled with my hair alot, especially since i grew up in a country where most people who had straight hair were constantly praised for it in opposite of those who don't, and I have 3b hair, it's frizzy and hard to take care of, but reci've been tryning to embrace it in all it's states, instead of always straitening it, mind you, it used to take me 2 hours to straighten each time and it burned my hands by the end of it. so, yeah, great video! ❤
thank you hun. keep embracing it
Where are you getting the information that people don't do this? I feel like must do. This comes off narcissistic.
🤣🤣🤣entertaining and informative. I love it
Glad you think so!
To clarify: YOU DON'T GET CANKER SORES FROM NOT FLOSSING. That IS misinformation. You get canker sores because an area of your mouth gets rubbed against over and over by something or you bit your gums (i.e. toothbrush, your own teeth usually in the back of your mouth if you have too many wisdom teeth crowding your mouth, etc. or you accidentally bite your gums as you are chewing food) which creates the canker sore.
i stand corrected!
I love that you express your thoughts in a non-politically correct way. It’s so refreshing. Great video.❤
Thank you so much, I appreciate that! Keeps things interesting 😉
you have to love what you have regardless of what a man likes.
Gotta stay clean in these streets
Perioso
Please stop focusing the camera up your nostrils, it’s completely distracting
This had me laughing because you are so bougie and I am, too! 😂The thought of not bathing every evening, applying lotion my skin, cleansing my face before bed, brushing my teeth, and flossing each day makes me cringe! I have also been washing and conditioning my type 4 hair each night to great success (it's really thriving). I wish I had a bidet, though! It's a good tip to change pillow cases more frequently. Another thing I will add to the list is EXERCISE. My body prefers exercise EvErY DaY to feel its best.
😭😂 this comment made me laugh bc I too, laughed at myself rewatching this! Exercise is a great addition! Great tip I didn’t even think of it as a hygiene tip. Also yessss to your hair thriving! 👏🏾
@@EvieAswiti 👌🏾Thanks for the reply! Exercise could be considered part of hygiene because it removes toxins from the body in addition to toning it. In some countries of the world they consider timeliness and one's sleep pattern "hygiene" as well.
Hi I’m am so grateful that I came across your video , I grew up having to learn things my self searching ofc didn’t know how important it is to take care of body was never taught but now 21 I’m learning how important it is and I just learn so many new things from this video that I will now start in my routine thank you for taking the time making this please make more, i will subscribe not many people talk about this 😊❤! God bless
You are so welcome. Hygiene really does give that extra push to feeling your best 😊 Appreciate you!
As a Muslim (and a fellow African - Nigerian), I grew up using water to clean myself. At work, I use the cups that they designate for mouthwash, fill them water and take them with me into the bathroom stall. Water down there is the best haha
It is the BEST!!!!
How do you use the lid of the mouthwash for cleaning yourself? In my imagination I would need to do a handstand
@@Julia-zz1gq I’m sorry that wasn’t clear. At my work they have a mouthwash dispenser and paper cups you can use for the mouthwash. I fill it with water and clean my front side because I don’t do number 2 in public.
I do all this too. Is it weird? I find it normal. I simply dont do number 6. If I exfoliate my lips daily it looks dry. Maybe its because I lived in India during my teens, all of this is normal there. Now that I have to be in Europe for a while I miss the " toilet shower" they have there, because there are not a lot of Bidets in Germany😢
Def not weird at all!
I washed daily in high school when relaxed because I read you shouldn’t use curling irons on dirty hair. My hair flourished while I was wearing a layered style. I grew it out and started wearing wrap/bob. It flourished then with weekly washes. After my chop in 1994, I would shampoo on day and co wash the next. I transitioned to 2strands that got moisture every day and weekly washes. My locks got washed or co washed just about daily. When I took out my locks, I would do wash n gos daily (cowash) and shampoo as needed. You are reminding me MY HAIR LOVES WATER AND BEING WASHED
In Houston, I honestly don’t know how you can go without a shower on a daily basis 😅😅
even me I am wondering!!!
Great video!!
thank you!
Tbh the natural hair community is toxic and all the rules push many away. At this point I do what I want and what works. If I want to throw on a wig I will, if I want to straighten it I will etc. I understand not wanting to pick a side cause im on the straight natural journey and low key want to get a wash and go but feel conflicted 🤣. Regarding straightening ive never attempted to straighten my own hair but my stylists is the best and her blow outs last 2-3weeks. I usually only run an iron once in the front during week 2 or 3.
Very toxic. I’ll clap back at some of my comments just for sport sometimes 🤭 doing what we want is our liberty. Perioso.
My hygiene thing is using disposable towels to dry my face after cleansing. It’s been a game changer in my skin care routine. I also change my pillow cases frequently (every 2-ish days). And 10000% with on “one and done” wear on tops in Houston 😅😂.
Ohhhhhh disposable towels??? 👀 I need to try that… how do you not get the paper towels 🧻 wet from the water splash on the sink?
@@EvieAswiti actually I don’t use the typical rolled paper towels 😅. There is a company called Clean Skin Club who makes disposable towels. They come in a paper box and they are easy to dispense for use.
@PortiaD-vt5ex Okay I’ve heard of them!
I’m with you with washing clothes after one time. This Texas heat ain’t it!!!
Absolutely not. I love the heat but only in easy breezy clothing.
The only reason why anyone knows your business is because you tell it. Stop trusting any and every body
When I went natural , my ex husband told me, “That’s just a fad” lol
Yes I’m so done dressing down to appease the ignorance
I live in FL and I done seen the worst bbls known to man. As a heterosexual black man I never liked it.
I’m your “400th” “like” and “111” comment lol
The damage has already been done , by giving kids phone, computers without monitoring what they are influenced by.
Our natural hair textures we have a advantage to wear different ways if we know what were doing, and some education on how to do it safely and properly sooo yes.❤
Yes ma’am you are correct!
Amen 🙏🏽 ❤😊
I just started daily washing. I shampooed and conditioned 3 days in a row and I kid you not each day has been less shedding and breakage from start to finish! In just 3 days of doing this!! I used to be a weekly washer and always got so much shedding and breakage and I've tried it ALL! All kinds of scalp treatments, Ayurveda herbs, oils, butters, olaplex, k18, protein treatments...I mean everything and I have never seen results as fast and as drastic as daily washing. My hair is so soft and tangles less. I can brush through my dry hair without snagging (I do blow dry). I love that my hair can smell fresh every day. Im type 4b natural with hair little past shoulders. I do not cowash. I use shampoo, conditioner, and a pure silicone serum and that's it. I use the Dry Bar paddle brush dryer. I like it because it doesn't get as hot as the other paddle dryers on the market. My preferred product lines are Keracare and Kerastase. I am still in shock at the results i am getting this soon from daily washing. On topic, the rules i break: I shampoo daily Use sulfates Use silicones Use heat I don't care. I am enjoying my hair for the first time in many years. Daily washing was the missing key for me!
Girl once you said KeraCare and Kerastase my eyes lit up! I’m so very happy for you. 🥹 The way I feel like dang, who knew that me uploading one video would impact another in such a special way. THANK YOU FOR SHARING 🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾♥️♥️♥️
@EvieAswiti Yes!🙌🏾 Kerastase and Keracare are the bomb, aren't they?! Years ago, I first saw Ms. Mississippi here on RUclips shampooing every 2-3 days and I tried it but never stuck with it consistently. I certainly wasn't getting these results even washing every 2-3 days. Then I had a video randomly pop up with this black scientist giving a presentation on the benefits of washing black natural hair daily and she said she does it now and will never stop. She saw the same benefits you stated. Then YOUR video randomly popped up and I was like ok I think this is a sign I'm doing this!😄 Because my hair was so dry, tangled, and brittle I think I needed to start with a wash schedule that was more...extreme (for lack of a better word) than 2-3 days even. I can't see myself not doing this going forward. Like you, even if I flat iron it'll probably stay 3 days max which is usually when my straightened hair starts to go south anyway, lol. This is literally curing my excessive shedding issue I have had for YEARS.🥹 I have a friend I want to tell about this because she is having the same issues with her hair that I was having but I feel like she'll look at me crazy. She does wear wash n gos now so maybe she'll be open to trying it for a week. Anyway, enough rambling. Please don't stop sharing your experience. Ignore the naysayers. There are other women out here who have proven and are still proving that washing natural hair very frequently absolutely solves a lot of our hair woes. You guys just don't have the huge audience even though what you're doing makes the most sense. You are truly an inspiration.
Awwww wowww that is so sweet and I am very encouraged by reading this. I appreciate you greatly and I will absolutely continue to share my experiences on my channel. God bless you, love! 💗
I feel freedom with my natural hair now. However in the early stages of my journey, I felt I had to follow the “rules” for my hair to thrive. It was definitely not true. Your hair looks healthy and great!!
Thank you so much! Cheers to freedom ♥️
I will check these out. Chantecaille was the first makeup brand I tried as a teenager when my aunt bought it for me from Harrods in London. I love their lipsticks, I will definitely try both of these sunscreens although Chantecaille is expensive. Sunscreen should be as cheap as possible to encourage more liberal use.
I do agree but since sunscreen is still a “new” adoption to use daily, brands charge a lot for them as there aren’t many super good ones that either don’t leave a white cast, or irritate the skin and eyes.
Ooop I'm with you!! There is no one size fits all. I've gotten out the habit of using oils on my hair. Trying to find more shampoos and conditioners that aren't heavy on oils either. I'll give Herbal Essences a shot, thank you!
You’re so welcome! Yeah it is not necessary to be so militant with our hair when it comes to routines and products.
You are such an inspiration for us daily washers and those of us who are curious about it. I'm not that far into daily washing but I am absolutely loving the clean scalp and hair feeling and smelling fresh in the head. When i pass by people i know they are smelling my nice conditioner and not a stale smelling scalp that i tried to cover up with leave in.
“stale smelling scalp” 💀💀💀 thank you!
I noticed when I washed my hair once or twice a week it would shed. When I start washing my hair every day or every other day it became STRONGER!!! I use Pantene (repair and protect) shampoo and conditioner
Love that! I noticed less hair fall too
Same
I wanna try a hairstyle like this, how would you go at washing your hair since you do it frequently?
@@HandleBerries Instead of every day, I wash every 3 days. Giving my hair a rest from heat within this timeframe to wash my hair again has been pleasant so far.
@@EvieAswiti oh I see so does it “revert” back a little? Sorry I just wanna know before I try anything 😭
Yes! So here’s what I did: Washed and straightened my hair Monday. No heat on Tues and Wednesday. Re-washed and straightened my hair again Thursday. No heat until my next wash. So far so good! My curls reverted back.
@@EvieAswiti okay thank you so much for answering!😊
@HandleBerries You’re welcome 😉
Love this video definitely adding these to my cart
Thanks boo! You won’t regret it 😉
urgh so fun, luv it here! 🫶🏽
