One of my favorite episodes

One of my favourite WW episodes in the entire series. The back and forth between Glenn Close's and William Fichtner's characters was one of my top 10 highlights of a series that had hundreds of highlights. The West Wing is my favourite TV show of all time, far and away.

This episode is good but in typical West Wing fashion it also totally ignores character continuity. CJ was always the biggest advocate for women, the most outraged about abuses of Saudi women, and yet here she’s advocating AGAINST the feminist dream justice.

Yet not one strip club was damaged. Makes you wonder why god hates trailer parks, and churches, but not titty bars. At some point humanity is going to have to get it through their heads that there is no god listening, and no almighty being that cares about us.

Robert Picardo & William Fichter were phenomenal in these roles.

As amazing as Glenn Close was in this episode, I was much more enamored by William Finctner as Christopher Mulready later in the episode. I hated his politics with every fiber of my being, but by god was he brilliant in the same way Evelyn Lang was. I’d work for that man and not feel like I sold my soul for it.

I'm a liberal. Apply this to the President of the United States please. Don't be a hypocrite. If President Biden cared about Democracy, he wouldn't be running for a second term. He would have voluntarily given up some power of the Presidency to guard against a future demagogue. He would have promoted the next generation of leaders. Heck maybe back before Super Tuesday of 2020 he wouldn't have circumvented the primaries and allowed the voters to have a voice? He is just as egotistical as President Trump, but too weak to follow any principles. America deserves what's coming. For the first time I may not even vote in November. The same ego applied to RBG before her death.

A timely posting. TERM LIMITS! The original idea for lifetime appointments was so they wouldn't be influenced by outside sources, knowing they had a job for life. We can see how that's working out with the greedy bastards on the Court now. No amount of money is ever enough for some people.
