Just returned from serving it two year mission for my church March 1983 so I didn’t get to listen to music for two years. What an incredible time in the world to be able to turn back on the radio and experience MTV for the first time. Incredible spring, and summer at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.❤

The 80’s were a gold mine. You could list the top 100 songs and not come close to getting them all. That said, Amarillo by Morning is my all time favorite.

In 1972, I saw the Carpenters and was blown away by Karen's singing (that is a given), but also her ability to sing and drum at the same time--she did it effortlessly . I was 13 in 1983. Did my teenage years through the 80s! How lucky was I if I only realized I was in greats times. LOL

There were so many great songs and artists in 1978. The young people driving popular music were overflowing with skill and talent. A few other unforgettable songs and artists of that year include: Just the Way You Are by Billy Joel, We will Rock You by Queen, Last Dance by Donna Summer, Serpentine Fire by Earth Wind and Fire, Use to Be My Girl by the Ojays,.... and the list goes on. It was a wildly talented lineup in 1978 and it covered everything from disco, rock, country and r&B. What a great year for music. I never tire of listening to popular music from that era and 1978 was exceptionally good.
