    Have a bfs 210h, hit a rock and actually bent a blade tooth but didn’t break it so belts started squealing immediately as the bent tooth wouldn’t allow the blade to pass through the rock guard. Didn’t really know how to pull the blade out but did have a complete spare blade assembly. Already pulled all the guides and spacer plates but easy enough to bolt them back on. Thanks for showing the blade slides out from the back. I’ll see if I can figure how to pull the pins with the marginal clearance they give you at the Pittman arms. Thanks again for the insight!

    We were told to try using the serrated top and bottom edge blade well we'll never go back to the smooth blades. Another thing I noticed everybody on here changes the guards and cutters out but nobody is adjusting the hold down clips. They have to be adjusted because the new parts are not worn so when you adjust the big nut with a set screw in middle on the hold down clamps there's Less noise not banging or prematurely wearing everything out. It changes the clamp angle so when you tighten it down it's not pinching to tight

    ThatHomeliteXL 12...looks very very good ! The price you gave was priceless low, but than again I know you have good prices on american saws at your place. I live in Norway and Sweden... and usualy arround 100 dollar pluss for each of those saws. It of cpurse depends much on the condition of the saws and the cutting equipment. But the roller nose bar on XL 12 looked expencive and in good condition and it is a large bar. Not often you see a XL that good looking and for that low price. Those XL 12 is the saw produced the longest time span...28 years... from1960 to 1988 i think it was. In volume maybe the most produced too ! Lay very good in the hand...looks awesome and last forever ! :-). Thank you for sharing ! :-)

  • @jerrylansbury9558
    @jerrylansbury9558 Год назад

    Used a sickle mower for years ! Issue is..... you can only do so much to sharpen a sickle ! Because........ the bottom of the sickle is also worn...along with the top of the sickle guards. There can be as much as 1/16 inch between the edge of the sickle laying flat on the sickle guard. Not easy to cut with this situation ! Also.........most times the back of the sickle bar........and guard wear at an angle...causing the sickle to ride up which causes even more space between the sickle and guard. Most times it best off replacing everything new at the beginning of the year ! Add into the mix...golfer mounds and sandy soils....... often the sickle wont even last a year. All depends on the acres its uses on. Might get 200 acres out of a sickle.

    We farm beyond organic standard but we have nowhere close to the hours in the day to do the mountain of paperwork required. Not at our level. When we can afford to hire help, maybe. In the meantime we just go to great lengths to be as transparent as possible with customers. I hope they change the bureaucracy to make it friendlier to smaller producers.

    Getting the enorossi 9 ft, here in Mi rarely get 3 days before rain, currently use 469 NH haybine.. hay is so thick it takes me close to 4 hours to get 5 acres cut, then I ted. Then Im pushing to get it in before rain.. could use 3 - 4 more hours of drying.. hoping the sickle bar provides me more time to dry. What is your drying process, do you ted or just rake.. what is your average drying time? We use and sell horse hay.

    • @backtothelandorganicfarmer6861
      @backtothelandorganicfarmer6861 Год назад

      We minimally ted(rarely)- our hay is very thick as well.. we usually cut, leave to dry overnight-when dew is off, we rake two rows together At most we may let dry and then flip the two rows over again to bale.

With US landscape irrigation estimated at consuming nearly one-third of all residential water use, or nearly 9 billion gallons per day, more lawn owners should do the same.

      The cam running the blades and stone guards separately? Like any cam system, say a two cylinder engine, two cams with different timing running on the same power input, so the blades and guards move independently and offset. So when the blades are at peak stroke the guards are at minimum stroke, and so on.

You appear to have it connected to the top mount on the cutter (where the toplink connects to the mower). Is there a reason why you’re not connecting it to the tractor? What is the purpose of this chain? Thank you.

I'm a little excited for 8'8" cutting width when what I had before was a 6'8" width. And it was a huge 3-point discbine that was heavy for the width, clumsy, and I had to hire someone else to run it because it was too big for my own tractor. Glad I sold it!
