Thanks for the walkabout. I love your woods and pastures. Bill and I grew up in Oklahoma and that looks like some of the places there.

Thank you so much for viewing! I have never been out West, but someday I want to get out there and see the desert as well as go all the way to the redwoods!

So happy to know about your two channels, we were thinking of you and worried that we hadn't heard from you! I was lifting you up! Have a nice holiday weekend! Lynette and Peter

Wow! My life has changed forever; I've finally been the first viewer of a RUclips video.
Your farm in NY is so similar to ours in WI. Goldfinches, eagles, Red Tailed Hawks, owls, bees in the ground, ragweed, thistles, clover, grass, and sore backs. This year, however, we're working on too much rain. I'll never complain about rain, though. I've suffered through two severe droughts - 1988 and 2012. Great to see that the two of you do everything together.
    Keith-

This was so funny to read about how you were the first to view; we uploaded and then went and did chores,
We sure do face allot of risks and challenges trying to keep going farming! People have no idea when they eat just how much stress we have! Have a great holiday weekend! I know you will be doing what we are doing! Working! Thank you for viewing Lynette and Peter

I am catching up with so many of my favorites here having been very busy with work. (country club - you know all too well what that is like in our part of the country - when you have sun you either make hay OR you tend to golfers lol)...anyways, another wonderful walk in your beautiful fields! Lynette - my email is in my channel description - if you ever get a chance, please reach out and drop me a quick note if you would. I would love to keep in touch in the event you come out towards the Webster area - plus I have some questions for you if you don't mind and I want to avoid mucking up the comments section. Your farm is heaven on earth and everytime you set off to walk it or work it, you always find new treasures and adventures - I absolutely LOVE that!

Nice fields and beautiful elderberries. We are trying to see if they will grow here.

How frequently do you plan to mow that old corn patch? How long before it turns to “good” pasture?

    • @backtothelandorganicfarmer6861
      @backtothelandorganicfarmer6861  6 лет назад +1

Greetings! This is an excellent question! So, the answer is, it will take a couple of years of really intense grazing followed by clipping(every single time the cows go through)! The cows actually will eat allot of that thistle when its young in the Spring but I predict that within two years we will be taking a first cutting of excellent hay off of this old corn field and until then; the cows will get allot of excellent feed! Thank youn for watching! Lynette and Peter

Great video! I just think it's so great to see you & Peter work together. I wish my wife worked a little more with me. She's more of indoors type of person & I'm more of a outdoors person. Anyways I watched your other video and was great too. I like the simplicity of your videos and your farming operation. They are relaxing to watch. Keep up the great work! Talk later, Paul

Hi Paul, we always love your comments, it's hard to know how to show things here in a good way! The working together part is kind of interesting as the years go on! We find it's good when one gets hurt for the other to be able to slip in and keep things going! I wanted to tell you that we watch every one of your videos and love them! We have a smart TV and one of the problems I see with youTube is that smart TV watchers dont always get counted as likes! I think that should be changed somehow! We will keep in touch though, I get on my computer or phone and always like you videos! Have a great day! Lynette and Peter

    Wine ?
    Pie?
    Jelly?
Is Peter gonna use sickle bar set high on that field or brush hog ?
Glad you too are always together!
    Makes life better.
    Nice walk.

Well, Peter keeps going back and forth on that exact question! There are allot of huge rocks out there! I think he is leaning towards using the sickle! I will have to get back to you on that! I'm going to throw the cows out there one more time next week before he hits it! Pie season is coming! I make about 100 apple pies in the fall, so stay tuned for pie and have a great weekend! Lynette and Peter

He's a young pup with some ideas , most are just reruns to us older folk.

Our rain stopped after the 4th of July. We went most of August without rain. Foxtail has been the weed of the year this year. I've tried to keep it out of our hay ground and pasture to no avail. Did Peter get a chain attached to the brake on your M farmall yet?

Same here with the foxtale and not as of yet( hoping Sunday he can take a minute to do that), I did lock both my brake pedals together like you do! I dont have a little hook link like you do! Peter thought I had one, but its smooth! I have the perfect little chain to use also! He just needs to punch a hole through! I will do a video soon I hope of both the hydraulics and I have a couple of other things I want to show about the M! We hope you have a nice weekend Lynette and Peter
