As a teacher, and someone who did Muay Thai for years, I 100% endorse what these two Gents are saying about discipline and respect. Two things that our curriculum, and wider society, seriously lacks ... I see so many young boys display traits that these two clearly had - zero interest in academia - and I completely understand why. I don't get the whole fascination with people wishing they''d gone to selection. There's so much fantasy and bullshit revolving around SF. Just because you pass selection and serve in an SF unit doesn't mean you've become a man among men. It means you've donated time to the military. that's all it means. It doesn't make your piss glow, for some guys it doesn't even make you a better person. Oftentimes most guys start believing their own bullshit and become quitters at life. Most SF never do anything worth talking about to be honest. They find out when they get in all the glory and bullshit is just that. mostly bullshit. They rely upon that fantasy when they get out to sell themselves and make a living because many can't do something else. The biggest measure of a man is being able to adapt to the situation hes been given and move up. Everything else is irrelevant.
