@dfromengland3543 that's crazy, sir. Thank you very much. The older generations were savages. My generation has it too easy nowadays. I'm going to ITC Catterick, not becoming a bootneck or Paras, unfortunately. But hopefully, someday with RMR or 4 para. Who knows. Thank you.
I am 10 minutes in and this has to be one of the most challenging listens out of all the checkered backgrounds i have heard so far. Pasha, you’re a good man, appreciate your service.
Another great podcast Phil. I always find your enthusiasm infectious. You've helped me through a hard time and find motivation again. My Dad done multiple tour's of NI, Bosnia, Serajevo and Gulf 1. Never the same man once he came back with PTSD. It was cruel to watch that strong proud guy become a shadow of his former self before tragically taking his own life 3/4/2013. If the team sees this please send my regards to Phil. Much love and respect from North East England. Also any other Hereos going through the same thing, hang on the world is a better place with you in it. ❤
He wouldn’t know me but I remember Pasha from 45 although I never knew him (not many Asian lads in 45). It’s great to hear he did so well for himself after what can only be described as a horrendous start in life. A fabulous example of how neither your DNA nor your background need to be a barrier to a good life.
Met Phil on my med cruise. He was a guest speaker and even though he was doing laps of the ship and I was sat outside having breakfast he took time to stop and chat with me. I have so much respect for Phil and he's bloody funny. This was a great interview. You ask all the right questions and show so much respect to the other operators. Subscribed and got your book on order buddy.
What a fantastic interview Phil. Pasha is a legend, humble, funny, inspirational. I cried laughing at you both. Pasha get the book written. Phil I’m a new subscriber. Well done both 👏👏👏
Thanks for this. Another fascinating interview. Young boys from tough backgrounds should be made to watch and listen to people like Pasha, as he is a really great role model for them. Looking forward to the next podcast. Cheers, Phil.
Grateful to come across this channel and this chin wag - doesn't feel like an interview. Showing the human side and breaking down preconceptions for those who may not know better. Much respect to both of you, and all those who serve. All the best! PS: The way you two interact, and your general outlook, brought back good memories of my dad and how he and his "mates" were (great sense of humour). It's been nice to get a better feel for what my father would have likely gone through during his service. So, thank you!
Wow , just watched it in one go , an absolutely incredible conversation between two very decent human beings, brilliant brilliant interview and absolutely fascinating. So much more Pasha teasing us with 🐸
Brilliant interview! Pasha is a real role model and a great example of what can be achieved by our youngsters if given the opportunity, regardless of your background.
Thanks for sharing, connects with alot of lads from the 70s. To go through that and become a hero, to someone like me who joined up but never had the strength to get past my childhood is so motivating that its possible. Thank you..
When Phil shows up, feet up and a brew in hand, working day over. 😉 Brilliant interview by Phil again. Having been there and done it himself, he asks the right questions. Really respect what Pasha has done for others and achieved himself. Mountain Leader aswell! I remember when I joined the Army, I was getting away from my situation too. When I think back, I think most of us were. Thanks for your videos guys and girls. 👍
That was incredible! What a human human and humble at that! This has made such a deep impact emotionally for me, I genuinely don't know why. But can I possibly say, this is the reason why Force Radio is the best at what it does, inspires and enables. Long may it continue.
Cracking interview Bit of a theme going on especially in that era. Broken homes, Cadets, Escapism to join up & seek. New family. That was me early 80s. Didn’t enjoy basic but couldn’t Jack it otherwise back to where I didn’t want to be
Cracking interview, lots of respect for Pasha. As for the pair of you... if you could find a decent script-writer you could probably make it on the stage as a comedy duo. Keep them coming Phil. 👍
Just two normal guys who's had an abnormal journey, ive watched and read loads of sf material, great podcast phil will be watching from now on👌thanks for lookin after us lads
Inspiring! This is by far my favourite interview so far! Considering the awful start to life this man had, the fact he is such a nice humble person! Awesome
What a brilliant man he is. He’s had some shit in his life and comes out smelling of roses. Hard work pays off, I take my hat off to him. This guy is a role model for guys wanting to join the army. 👍🏻
Never watch these but this was great Phil and Pasha. Lots of respect and laughed when you mentioned Rauls Rose Garden. 40cdo 85 we took the inside of the bar to the outside of the bar.... MPs were not far behind. Lots of Love Royal. PMPT
With all his been through as a child and he never gave in Not to the bullying Not when he failed selection, twice!! And not to his demons Proper Tough Proper doer 💪🏻 🇧🇩 ⚔️ 🇬🇧
Pasha had it really hard man 😔 He seems such a genuine fella. Total respect to him to fight though it all and making himself and the country proud what a guy ✌🏻👌🏻 I wish him the best of luck in life 👍🏻
Raul's Rose Garden, we used to frequent that lovely establishment in 1985 when i was in The Royal Engineers. 40 Commando were the infantry battalion and they smashed it to pieces. It was rebuilt within a week....
Absolutely brilliant motivation stuff. Speaking as a 70 year old it gives you the will to keep on challenging the things that life throws at you. Great stuff! Thanks!
This just shows you with enough determination you can be an excellent soldier. He got back trooped in the Marines because he wasn’t picking things up, yet he still became a tier 1 operator and was amongst the 1% of individuals. What a beast!
Great video and thank you for sharing your story Pasha. I can totally relate to your childhood story as I went from a loving household into one of villains following the death of my farther. The only thing I wanted to do was get away into the military to get away, but injury prevented this. I did get away and into the utility industry which I’m still in 34 years later. Keep up the great work Phil and all the others behind Force Radio
I was in 59 commando in 79, south Armagh in 80 and about to be the first Army guy to be on the ML course. RM cancelled that but I do know 6 ex 59 guys who passed selection
i haven't watched all of the vid yet but because he was SBS, i predict he will show himself to be intelligrent, resourceful, determined and the kind of bloke I would carry water for....next comment will be about how accurate I was.
I was air force Ground Crew, I did sometime on helicopters which was Belize so a lot of the laughing was being done over here as well as you guys going on about the Rose garden
I can't imagine, and I'm glad of it, what it must be like to be born and not wanted by your own parents/ family. I had a small bit of that over covid where things will probably never be as they once were. It made me feel sick. I can't imagine what it's like having your father barely knowledge you in the street as a young man. It's cruel. But look what you achieved despite that. Looking at the comments if a man can be described as a 'proper oppo' I think that's all a man can ask for. To be respected.
What an amazing person and incredible role model. I can identify with a lot discussed by both though I stand in the shadows of SF. Get him writing a book for sure. What an awesome channel.
You just know that these guys have done so much in the SF world and cant talk about it. I would love to know some of the operational stuff but national security and troops saftey i guess we will never know. Force Radio is awsome big phil not bad too.

As a young Asian lad going into the infantry, this man is a role model and inspiration for me. Rule Britainia.
Good luck to you, mate. Hope you absolutely nail it. Kind regards.
All the best, buddy, I wish you success 💪🏻. I was at CTCRM with Pasha in the same troop. Excellent guy. Funny little bugger 😁
Good luck mate ⚔️⚔️⚔️
Echo the other comments good luck mate

U would never look at Pasha and think he was a tier 1 special forces killer 😂 never judge a book by it's cover, top bloke.
I loved this one big Phil. What a humble man. I loved the fact that he was honest about failing.
Tells alot about Pasha's mindset and determination in what he's been through over the years. Great bloke.
Brilliant 👏🏻 Pasha seems like a top bloke, wish him all the best.
Confirmed Top Bloke ✅
I am 10 minutes in and this has to be one of the most challenging listens out of all the checkered backgrounds i have heard so far. Pasha, you’re a good man, appreciate your service.

Crikey I was in the same Troop as Pash Diamond guy. Kool as Fook and very much a proper oppo. Long time Brother 91. 630. Troop. Great to see you mate.
Small world! Thanks for watching
You can tell Pasha has stories to tell, but is restricted, due to sensitivity. Great interview!
Thanks for watching
Phil, you are BRILLIANT at this!

Great bloke Pasha - Wish him all the very best!
Wow didt realise a bengali had served in the special forces. I served in the infantry myself. Fair play to him.
