Now you have the seat belt out Take the drainage tubes out and clean them out The tubes allow water to run out from the roof and escape out of the bottom The tubes are behind the trim behind the seats and seat belt inertia reel
im trying to wrap my head around the price difference between the US and UK miatas. these things sell on copart for 2 or 3 grand and sell for 7 or 8k on facebook.
Is it not door if moving centre of stationary otherwise they’d get in the way of changing gear
Nice one. I have a convertible with 11000 miles, a great car. It's my third Jaguar; I drove 160.000 miles with one with no problems. Maintenance is key; for the first 15 minutes, go easy on the throttle. Thank you for the review, and keep the car.
Why do you have the stop/start off?Mine is on most of the time around town.
Fair play I enjoyed following along as an owner of an nc mx5
Im looking at getting my first f-type. Coming from a z4, would you recommend the v6 or go straight for the v8?
I can afford the 6 now and heaps of them available, I currently have a Audi A7 supercharged 6....I'm holding out for the v8, the sound is next level, the 6 seems to sound good to but I want to own a v8 for once and enjoy it before the world goes EV
V8 - P450 are incredible value (I had one). P575 performance is next level (I have one)
Similar path as yourself, Z4M, S2000 (x2) then 2013 V6S to Supra to 2021 P450 V8. Sold the V6S as it was getting old and big bills kept coming. Loved the Supra, especially with aftermarket exhaust and remap. The performance and handling was something else, a true sportscar as opposed to the F-Type which is more a "sporty" GT car. Like yourself, I missed the F-Type character, but the real reason to change was to get back into a convertible after the Supra and just wondered if you missed that element now you're in a coupe. S2000 was the best weekend car I've owned, Z4M the most flawed.
Nice one, I got a very rare V6 manual transmission 2018 model year, Caldera Red with 19" Centrifuge silver wheels, pre GPF with Fuse 15 out (obviously). It sounds and drives amazingly! Mine is actually 1 of 188 built for the UK market.
IMHO: Check the MOT history before putting anything more into this car - it's had welding (or thick underseal!) on both sills - get the rear arch liners out of the way to have a proper look at what's there. Plenty of NCs around - often cheaper than NBs. Good luck, though, whatever you do.
Keep it the deprecation is turning so will cost nothing in the next couple of years
I am looking for a 2016/17 model, hopefully with an already blacked out package so i don't need to wrap the door frames etc and hoping the exhaust hast been quietened from an update. I am terrified about maintenance costs or surprise issues. I'm in Australia and these are more expensive to purchase than Uk, having said that, these are very very rare on the road, which is what i like, I'm not a sheep and this car stands out when it is seen and heard. Currently have owned since about 2015 an Audi A7, tuned it, got some RS7 rims on it and a muffler delete and the car still looks like a recent model expensive car but i want to own a V8 before the world goes EV and starts in my opinion putting taxes on petrol guzzling V8's. I love James Bond movies and even though this car isn't a Aston Martin, it still has Bond vibes, plus i was born in Bham which is where i believe they were made, i dunno i feel connected to this car. I could immediately pick up the 6 cylinder Ftype as they are a lot cheaper here, but i need the V8, especially after driving one, i just cant see a better car for the price range in the second hand market.....Audi RS5, BMW M3/4, they don't turn my head when i see one, another car in the similar price range is the Merc C63S and im sure its prob more reliable, interior more comfortable and high tec BUT the Mercs these days are so common on the road and the C63S doesn't really stand out from a 4 cylinder recent model merc. There was the Lexus LC500 but there is just no sex appeal with Lexus despite it being a wise reliability choice...........i dont really know what to do
Nice F type, colour is stunning, the running costs are at the top end~ then there’s servicing 😮 But just look at its road presence 😀
Yeah definitely one of the best looking cars on the road, especially at the price :)
get rid of everything except the Jag ,
haha Not sure I'd want to cart the dog around in the Jag :D
Nice spec, colour combo
And link on to the USA guys who do Sabbs the community is so huge best of luck to ya 🎉
Hi There love the content and the Channel and you a good honest guy and l know that the Channel will do very very well Especially on Saabs they have a huge following best of luck.😊
Dude, you’re the most out of breath person I’ve ever heard!
Haha, it's auto ASMR... I have the mic placed right under my chin without the wind protector as it always falls off >.< Might have to find an alternative.
@@itscarbeard haha fair mate!
30 year body man from Canada here. That damage is non-structural. Some time spent working it back out from the inside, some primer and paint to cover and seal any bare metal and you should be good to go. I’d also look at the bracket position above and on the side just to make sure they’re in the right place but if it all lines up after, no problem. For the airbag, based on the age and model I’d say look at the crash sensors first. They’re outside and subject to weather and can be easily damaged. After that would be the clockspring, due to movement over time. The “polystyrene thingy” is an “impact absorber”.
Thanks for the reply. Might nab myself a cheap impact sensor and use it as a swap test :) Still need to do some inspection on the system as a whole, hopefully I get a day without rain this week to have a look :D
I own a MX5 MK3, so that is a sad sight to see
I know it was hard for me to break it :( At least the parts from it will contribute to keeping others on the road whilst not financially bricking me xD
👌 Ron Saab - cracking guy for spare Saab parts - the go to guy in the north of England
Got the exact same car, they are fantastic 💪
The 93 convertible has two concealed rollover hoops behind the rear seats that are deployed in certain collision situations, might be worth checking the wiring to these?
Check to see if it has something to do with the airbag? I thought they only deploy when the car is tipped over a certain degree?
@@itscarbeardYes ,that's correct, but they are part of the SRS system ,and if the wiring to them is compromised, they show a airbag light . ( they did on mine anyway).
What camera and mount are you using? The image is a quite “jittery” when you move the camera which makes the video hard to watch. Otherwise, excellent video! I like your presentation style.
It's a GoPro, in later videos I started to use stabilization in camera as for the first few rounds of recording I accidentally had it turned off >.<
Bargain! We bought a virtually identical one from Copart (56 plate, same colour) earlier this year as a keeper. Put a max bid in for £475. Didn't meet reserve (seller wanted £1000). Reconfirmed the £475 bid and they accepted it. Ended up having to pay for delivery as we were away when we won it, so with the fees and delivery, it came to £880. Genuine 75,000 miles, 2 keys, heated leather, runs like a sewing machine, but Cat N for a dented wing and bumper. I've repaired it, serviced it, put 4 new tyres on it, and got it through an MOT (needed a bit of welding on the inner sill on one side, only test advisory was rear disc wear), and it owes us £1,700. Very cheap way to buy an MX5 if you get lucky. Ours has the same seatbelt issue - cleaning them with soapy water is the fix, apparently. Engines are known for guzzling oil, and many fail because they are allowed to run too low.
Thats a great little story :) An ace little car and even more so if you get it sub £2k. Cat N gets thrown around liberally on these for the most superficial of damage, it can make them a real bargain :D I did the seatbelt wash advice but it unfortunately made little difference :( I removed them, and washed them in very hot soapy water using an ultrasonic cleaner and then gave them another wipe down when reinstalled :/
Well done 👍
Slow seatbelt retraction is a common issue - just wash the belts down in soapy water, dry them fully, and the problem goes away. Good luck with the project.

@@itscarbeard There's a replacement seat belt guide. About £19 each. They work perfectly. I tried cleaning and nothing worked but the new guides solved the problem. It's an important fix because without it the buckles get caught in the door and cause damage.
Seems like a fair deal.
I've now watched all of your videos on the NCs so far, there's some good stuff here. I've got a 1.8 2015 model, just bought it so your journey is interesting to me.
Back lights are 45 quid all day long, still got mine ,daily driver ,great cars very reliable, apart from normal stuff like pads tyres etc ,never had a problem in 6 years of daily use.
Managed to nab myself one for £35 :D
@itscarbeard that's a good deal 👌
Hi mate, maybe talk to Dougie at Once driven forever smitten about the tech 2.
Nice Saab, I have a 2006 2.0T my self. You asked what to do on a few things in your video. My advice: Get a Tech2 with the CANI module and a Win10 Laptop to gain security access. You will find a lot of tutorials on RUclips how to put all of this together on the computer side of things. Without it you can do nothing to the Saab Their is no workaround or general OBD-Reader that can replace the Tech2. Looks like the Valve-cover gasket is leaking and while you have the cover of you can have a look where the ticking noise is coming from. Good look
Absolutely love these old Saab's especially the convertibles. Love seeing your videos, keep up the good work!
I used to have one of these, my airbag light was on and had to get a local Saab specialist to turn it off with Tech 2. Also check down by the drivers seat runner at the front, there is a sensor there that can get knocked. It's the side of the transmission tunnel. Great channel 👍
Really enjoyed this series, I recently bought an mx5 and I’m slowly going through it, your videos have been really helpful! From the bits that you salvaged from the first car, do you have the Scissor Jack and accessories? I’m looking to buy them for mine they were missing.
I have the jack but not the small set of tools unfortunately :( Send me an email if you're interested in the Jack :)
Comment for algorithm.
Job well done man. Keep up the great work.
👍
Well done. Thanks for taking us along on your journey!
Looks like this is a very early NC. If you find that the heater takes ages to work after being parked pointing down hill then the was a tech bulletin for this , replacing one of the hoses to the header tank. Don’t think this car has had it done.
Great job. For its age the MX is looking good! I’d use the Renovo black dye for the roof. I used it on mine and it looked like new afterwards. Thanks for the great content!
I ran out of that the last time I did the S2000 :D I did use some inhibitor from Renovo for the time being.
1970's Citroën
Thats a left field guess xD I don't even think I could name a 1970's Citreon haha :D
@itscarbeard the ds 23, but the wheels are saying something else
Motorbike
If I was buying a door I'd like it to come with as much of the door furniture as possible. Swapping a damaged door with a complete door by just bolting on and plugging in the loom is far easier than buying the door shell then having to swap all the bits over from your old door.
Yeah I'm the same. People are lazy and want plug and play. I would pay more for less work for sure
Thats fair, you'd need to pull the door cards in this instance though right? To replace the key locks. I also needed to pull the door card to remove the loom as it was way easier then removing the dash parts and pull the wires/loom with the door.
The door ones are bottle holders not cup holders
Ive sent you an email about a part
Getting the dash out is a ballache. You need to remove the center console then the bits beside the radio then the radio and that reveals the bolts to take out the dash. you'll hate it
In terms of the next car to work on I think a VW Golf would be a good idea as the parts should be easily available and once its done it should hopefully be pretty easy to sell it on to a new home. Loving the Mazda MX-5's tho, always happy to see a new video :3
Need a shed lol
I have 2 xD full of gardening stuff >.<
Mk1 doesn't have any 😄
