I had Bola B1 on my Z4 coupe (non-M). 18” and you can order the offsets to work for you. Maybe then a little 30mm spring drop and you’re away! Keep up the good videos!
I see the attraction in the e85 coupe as it was the only hardtop option. But, in the E89 it's folding hard top is the best of both worlds. I am having a problem with people saying the coupe is the "classic"...
I lreally ove this car... The only change i would do to the interior is getting rid of the screen putting on a normal dashboard. But I don't even know if this is possible.
Anything is possible, but considering everything that would need to be removed (center console) before it’s even possible to remove the dashboard, it’s maybe not practical to swap unless you have a really strong desire to change and a few days to just focus on that
It would be nice, they age the car so badly and a lot of Z4M's came with it, like @Paul James Collins says, it would be a mondo task and cost a bit of coin for a replacement dash and interior bits to replace the Nav system. Not something I want to tackle right now haha xD
You might find that the passenger window auto-up isn’t actually broken… by default it might be disabled as a safety feature. I had to reprogram some options on my z4 and enabling the passenger auto-up was one of them. Easy to do with something like the Carly device. Nice tidy-up if the car since you got it - looking good
I agree about the wheels - they look a bit lost in the high gloss black finish…. And yeah shadow grey could look good, as might a bronze type finish against the silver paintwork. I also think painting callipers could help break-up the lack of clear colour around the wheels. I have orange on mine, which are actually upgraded to the Brembos off of a Porsche Boxster S.
I have recently brought a 2006 Z4 2.5i SE and loving it :) I have the standard 104 style wheels in silver. I have thought about changing the wheels as I am not too sure about the star design, although it has grown on me. I have looked at getting some new alloys but as an Architectural Technician and working with those Architects / Designer types :) I think that the wheels should not take over the original body design that Anders Warming carefully planned and the engineers at BMW managed to achieve in the final car. I think that any new wheels should not be more dominant than the car, so more modern is acceptable but not too dominant but simple and sexy grey and 5 spoke seems to suit the bolt fixing and visually will look better as well :) If the wheels shout at you more than this car does, then the overall look will not work, in my view anyway ;)
I agree, it has to strike a balance and it would need to look oem, so I think something from the BMW range at the time would suit. It's not soemthing I'm going to change, not atleast until the coilovers are on.
No, not given up, car has had a chunk of stuff done to it, new exhaust, got new coilover waiting to go on with a front skirt, new grills, gearknob, full service/inspection ii and some other bits. It's just the weather has been awful where I live and don't want to do the big jobs outside in the cold xD That and my business is taking up a lot of time, so whilst the car is off road during winter, progress has been slow.
