I can't figure out if he's taking the piss or had a series of mild strokes while filming and editing this. We're obviously big fans of his work and definitely want to see more but this was a bit much. I wonder if he's actually struggling, perhaps he could have a word to old mate Harry. He knocks out decent quality productions with what I imagine is a pretty light weight operation.
@ I wonder if there's been a personal crisis. He never seems to film around the Wye Valley any more, which was where he and his wife lived. I wonder if Lois has kicked him out of the family home in Tintern.
@ uh, no? He's been quite open about where he lived, in the past. And one time I was visiting Tintern (wanted to see the Abbey ruins) and picked up a copy of the parish magazine in a shop there, which mentioned a cricket game being played at the home of Chris and Dr Lois Harris (she's a local GP). Chris has been very publicly cricket-mad since before he ever met Flintoff. Just a case of putting two and two together and making four (or possibly five, if I've got it wrong about him not being at Tintern any more).
The part about the home movie we like is the honesty and personal aspect. Like Harry Metcalfe has perfected. Decent editing with timing and sound quality is still important I think anyway.
Evening Chris, I’m picking up a 2013 911 991.1 Carrara s on Friday, my dream car for many years. 30k miles, 2 years Porsche warranty, full service history. Just wanted to say thanks for the many years of car reviews, the book, the superb podcasts, the Top Gear years (McGuinness & Flintoff) in particular the episode with the driving range which had me crying with laughter 😂… if you ever need a 991.1 for a test or comparison just give me a shout. Finally, in true podcast style, my second car in my two car garage is a 2018 530D xDrive which is superb, I completely get your addiction to your big V10 estate. You are a living legend mate.
I love it! It's rough but genuinely makes me feel like I'm back in a time when internet videos meant simple production, organic presenting and great content. A few simple things here and there are off but I hope Chris sticks to this format.
@ the difference between this piece, and a bad piece, is the same difference between a good and a bad magazine column. It’s not about the graphics, or fancy pictures. It’s about the writing. Nothing but the writing.
Very clever Chris, I definitely sense the purposely done mistakes in the editing for the comedy value, the parts where there is no sound, the dog barking and the old school iMovie background music. Made me smile anyway and makes a change from the norm!
Best format yet, Chris. And I’ve been with you through since the Evo days. Meditative, seeing through your eyes as they are, not thinking of crafting a review. In world gone far too loud - parts of the industry as well, this review is a peaceful few breaths we used to reach for ever so silently on a monthly car mag. What the people of the UK need is cars with 8000 bhp , screens everywhere instead of buttons , cars that weigh at least 8 tons , and cost at least 400k and massive servicing costs to drive around at 20 mph
It's super charming and it's free! The essence of what RUclips is all about really: it's raw, it's real, it's fun, identifiable, and even informative to those who may never own one. And we can watch along through Mr. H's eyes whom we know to be a rather good wheelman and an excellent scribe. Carry on!
i say this with nothing but love for CH in my heart, and as a fan who's been watching and reading for over a decade. Chris, this has got to be the best content put together in the worst way yet. the audio mastering is shite, could have done better just throwing the clips and audio into youtube's built-in studio app and that's saying something. i don't want to have to turn the volume down with subs on because i can feel this video has not been put together with love, but that's what i already did from the start with this one. you can do better Chris, even if it's a home movie and the bbc doesn't want you to shine on youtube. sincerely, your fans.
I completely agree. I wouldn´t be pissed if it wasn´t for intentional sudden change of volume when the dog brarking came. The rest of it was enjoyable as always but no need for intentional ear rape. I hope this will not be repeated.
your wit is absolutely on par with your driving skills and more and more I can't choose which I prefer, so I'm just going to gladly embrace both, I decided.
Love it, Chris. Thank you for putting out these great car reviews. I'd rather have you with a single camera, purely focused on the driving experience, then most of the overly dramatized and over-edited fare out there. Keep it up! The automotive world needs you.
Love your podcasts, collecting cars and CH w/ friends. Love all your recent videos. Please, please, please don't stop doing what you're doing. So entertaining, so knowledgeable, so funny. Love your work sir 😄
Absolutely loving these videos Chris keep them coming. Shows both your personality and how skilled the people behind the camera are! (Loved the white comment made me spit my beer on the sofa)

Brilliant. Video shot last week, audio added on the school bus 20 minutes before it was due in. Text copied from someone else who did their homework about another car. I have Naim kit at home, power, pre, power supplies etc. great quality
It's almost as if you've got Allen mill yard to do your editing and I was half expecting a trip indoors to see what the Mrs was cooking 😂 On that subject tho, that might be an epic little collab, pretty sure the chemistry between the two of you with your passion for going fast will be excellent 👌
Brilliant! The complete antithesis to all other high production, but ultimately samey reviews. Has that ‘man in a shed’ vibe. I love it. Talking of hybrids, I have a S60 with 455bhp, but in true Volvo safety first style it’s restricted to 112mph.🙄
3 years is about how long their core buyer holds on to these cars anyways. Almost none of the great GTs are built to last due to their nightmarish depreciation
Just to be a geek (ex automotive warranty engineer!). Most companies only offer 1 year warranty from the manufacturer - the actual factory. Anything beyond that is paid for by the regional sales company and simply calculate what they may pay out for years 2-10 on repairs then price this in! Eg VW UK offers 3 years but VW USA offers 7 years. Same car, same factory and VW factory offers 1 year to VW UK and VW USA. The extra just paid for by VW USA or VW UK
Love Chris but, I must say that I loved watching TopGear's Chris Harris Drives videos because of Chris' brilliant commentary and amazing driving skills but also for the masterful editing, amazing music and gorgeous cinematography. I really enjoy Chris' thoughts on automobiles but it would amazing if he somehow got that BBC money to continue that quality of filmmaking.

Love this home made content, love it. Why? Because it's less showbiz and perfection, back to basics, we are here to get Chris's opinion, and we get just as well from a home budget movie. For those complaining about video quality, do you have any idea how much the high quality productions cost. Two choices, Harris in home made or no Harris at all, I'll choose the former
@RichardHarrold1991 When did people get so entiteld? It´s free to watch it. No obligations here. Go play with your penis instead, if you don´t like it.
The editing on this is wild. I'm sure there are plenty of people in the comments section that would edit for you. Sometimes there's no sound, sometimes the sound is entirely on the left. That cut at 10:21 is something else. I'm even willing to learn and take on the job for you. And I'm local
Thoroughly enjoyed this video and especially you, Chris Harris! Looking forward to more of your “stream of consciousness” commentary in the next videos. I now want to have a Conti although another car is the last thing I need.
This is a case of adapting to big changes, no complaints here, I still look forward to every new video especially when filmed at my favourite trackday circuit LLandow. Chris Harris is still the best motoring journalist.
Genuinely feels like Chris borrowed the car for a month from Bentley, and on day 29 remembered he promised them a review
Isn't all homework done this way?
He mentioned on his podcast he gets Bentleys at Christmas but has to do a review 😂
The fact I’d still watch this says lots about how much I enjoy listening to Chris

The audio is shambolic but great to see Chris Harris. Audio Just doesn't do you much justice.
Great video! The passion shines! ❤. Just a tad out of my price range!
The editing on this is wild.
I'm sure there are plenty of people in the comments section that would edit for you.
Sometimes there's no sound, sometimes the sound is entirely on the left.
That cut at 10:21 is something else.
I'm even willing to learn and take on the job for you. And I'm local
That cut is bloody fa
I don't think you get the joke, i am sure it is one... :D
Thanks Chris now I know what to buy in couple year for half of the price with that kind of performance,I love it!! ❤
I thought the “homemade” style was rather amusing. lol! At nearly £300k you could almost buy 3 x M5s. The powertrain should be that good!
Thoroughly enjoyed this video and especially you, Chris Harris! Looking forward to more of your “stream of consciousness” commentary in the next videos. I now want to have a Conti although another car is the last thing I need.
This isn’t ’home movie’ style, it’s more ‘homeless’
He seems to spend all his time in Clifton these days... I'm guessing Lois has kicked him out of the family home in Tintern...
I can't imagine the pressure of Chris Harris saying "hey, get in this car and react" 😂
What an awesome car!
The radar in the grill destroys front end looks
This is a case of adapting to big changes, no complaints here, I still look forward to every new video especially when filmed at my favourite trackday circuit LLandow. Chris Harris is still the best motoring journalist.
A poor quality Chris Harris video is better than the most professional video of anyone else. Keep learning Chris, we’re with you!
It's not. Harris isn't that much better than everyone else.
Chris Harris is the best out there for what he does. No doubt about that. Thank you Chris
