Have you got any pictures of a stoke on Trent firm, long gone JL Coopers. From Milton my dad drove for them from the 60s to the 90s they were in a blue or burgundy livery. Don’t seem to see any pictures of them at all?

In the summer it was fine but as soon as it got down to zero it was hard work . . I think the worst job was carrying beer as you had to sheet and rope 4 times in 1 day bringing empties back and climbing on those was treacherous . but there was a lot of satisfaction of a nicely covered load

Glad I found more of my old photos I put on trucknet on here, can't get on the site anymore. At 9.04 that's my brothers transcontinental he drove for Dai Morris fron Porth. Went to Glasgow for the first time in that when I was 10. Learned more on the road than I did in school. Always remember the roads went a bit quieter when Simon Bates was on the radio and he played our tune, often saw other drivers wiping away a tear as we passed them!

I live in co durham but in 75 76 i worked on a opencast coal site near oakley fife there was a local chap sandy steel he had a scammel low loader with four in line trailer often parked on footpath in cairneyhill Willsons tippers from dunfermline came on site every day i brought a souvenir back a wife still starts still up and running well built scottish motor

Happy new year, A lovely selection of classic vehicles brings back memories when everything was simple and even laborious but better comrades on the road

And we were the crazy boys, to drive in winter from munich to isfahan, with double-packs of DB 813, fresh from german scrapyards, bad tires, stuffed filters, wornout tires, no chains, no bed, no webasto, tahir in winter. Driving with german custom-plates, the old oval-ones, or red plates were we always the outlaws, treated with distrust or contempt by the fine gentlemen in the big trucks with all the comforts. They didn't even want us at the same table in Londra , Telex or Aksaray-Ali.... what a pity. I even got to Tashkent, all by myself, with a concrete pump. 40 countries, over 4 million km. From 1986 onwards, only heavy goods transport, mobile cranes, from 2000 onwards, yacht transport. Today, a pension that is not enough to live on... romantic? Not really.

I've driven F88s , F10s , Turbostars , Roadtrains , Bedford TKs , Mercedes EPS Powerliners . I now look back and wish I could drive them again . If only I could win the lottery and have a garage full of classic trucks that I once drove ....wow 😊 Great video as ever , ta .

It reminds me of a period of no phones or computers...no tracking devices or Sat Navs ...when the driver really was a skilled professional and treated like one..I first drove these machines in 1983

17:00 Great feeling to see my grandfather's ERF of Geoffrey Reyner and at 12:12 Paul Hinclffe's father used run three ERF's out of Bury Paul still has one of the L series tractors Paul used run a DAF 105 XF that's now a show pony.

Great memories there.A lot of the old companies l remember from back in the day!ERFs.Good trucks.Shame MAN closed them down.The ECX was shaping up to be a good truck,but underdeveloped. Top job👍

A pity about the picture quality of some of these shots really but then again, Is there any pictures of Lyons Maid Volvo F10s, Birds Eye, Park Cakes,& Cold Air refrigerated trucks from the 80s on any of these films?

I bought my first truck from Mobile oil company in Kingsbury £1100 pounds it was an ERF run it to Swiss for 3 years it was battelship grey laid across wooden board for a bed but i made money ,i look it you walk before you run ended up 4 new trucks 3 houses good life

Remembering cab rides during school holidays in the 1950 's. From Silver Town to Froxfield. An empty sugar tanker back to Tate & Lyles refinery.

Tate & Lyle operated a fleet of Fodens that delivered bulk Sugar. But my Father wouldn't dream of calling him self a tipper driver. 😅
