That is one marvellous gallery of Suttons vehicles, both old and new . Thank you for posting. Those roped 'n' sheeted loads were a masterpiece. There must be a Suttons driver on here; I'm forever seeing your tankers travelling to and from Harwich terminal, are you delivering to the port or en-route to the continent? I always wonder.
Good video, my dad was a Pilkingtons driver of over thirty years, would not let me go to Suttons for a job when I passed my class one, told me to go to Holt Lane Transport, for a start, which I did, Dad not think a lot of Alf Sutton, I think they had words in the yard at some point!. but a excellent video anyway.
My uncle Hughie drove for Holt Lane on the old Atkinson eight wheelers for absolute ages till he retired, and my dad did 44 years driving for the BICC just up the road.Holt lane as you know did a lot of hauling for the B.I till its demise in the late eighties.
Great memories of old truck days gone by, never to return!! Thanks.
