I don’t know how you keep pulling these gems out of a hat like you do. Please keep it up !!! Great memories for me! Fantastic pictures that just confirms how awful the modern day world of transport is in our country. I took early retirement 3 years ago after 37 years and the job bears no resemblance to how it was .
Had to chuckle when I saw the Bartrums Seddon Atkinson with what looks like a 60ft extender tandem axle , look at the bend ....would that be allowed today 😂 . They used to be a pig .....none of your steering axles 😢 and because the wheels were right at the back of the trailer , turning a tight corner you would be in the next county , I had to do one through the middle of Thirsk in the 80s ....that was pretty tight 😅 . Best video yet ta .
Lloyds of Ludlow have The Finest Restored Fleet of old vehicles in the country...All Mint and real signwriting.I am a Lucy Old School LORRY Driver and was privileged to drive their A.E.C..Mammoth Major to The recent Leyland Gathering at Leyland!!!!!! Surprise Surprise!!!!

My late father was a lorry driver in the 50s, can’t remember the make, only know it was ridged. I often used to go with him in the summer holidays. From the farms in Lincolnshire down to London, Covent Garden with fresh produce. No automatic gearbox, almost standing on the clutch pedal to change gear.
Goulding's were just up the road from us, sadly gone now. In 1968 I did my test for BRS Gloucester in a Grimsby fish Seddon. The guy that tested me said "If you don't hit anything, you'll be fine"
