If you are like me and only want your favorite sketchbook on your travel instead of buying some random one the last minute, here is a lifesaver ;) This video shows you everything I did in the making of the sketchbook along with my mistakes :O and the fixes and workaround I did. I learnt a lot while making these : 1. get the right waxed thread 2. choose thicker paper for end pages I used a handmade one from Portugal although those papers are amazing and give the sketchbook a unique touch, may be for starters I could pick card-stock so that the glue wouldn't soften it so much. I am looking forward to making more handmade sketchbooks with the watercolor papers I have in hand. Let me know in the comments if you like more videos of book binding or of paint making. I am working on releasing a "making of gouache" video next. wohoo!

How does the gouache dry in the pans with this recipe?

Hello, Im making my own color shifting watercolor... do you know why if I touch the dried watercolor on paper it fades if Im passing my finger on de paper? All the pigment fade away. Please help I added more binder and also I put less binder but it didn't work :(

How do you know when you have mulled them enough?

How do i know how much watercolorbinder is required?

Recipe : 30g Mica Powder 3 tsp holographic gold glitter 3 tsp holographic rosegold glitter 4 drops of essential oil 1/4 tsp honey 1/4 tsp glycerine (optional) watercolor binder (as required)

I have been "collecting" San Rio stationaries when I was a kid in The Philippines!!! San Rio is an Asian Stationary!!!When I arrived in Belgium, papers are "pretty simple", until now!!! And, when I started Journaling, I'm happy to find Chinese and Japanese Journaling products at Aliexpress or Temu, and JOURNALSAY!!! China, being the "oldest" paper making country, had advanced this! My expectations are high on China, that it beats American and European paper industries, and some products!!!I'm proud for being half Chinese/ half filipino/ half Indian!!!

I checked the subtitle button and it only did Vietnamese, and when I asked for it in English, it was hilarious! Anyway! Here's a solution for anyone with this problem, and I've posted it under those I found: This will help! Click on the box immediately under the video. Scroll right down to the bottom, and click on "Transcript" It will come up next to the video. From there, you can copy and paste into eg Google or DeepL translate to read it in your language. I put their comment into the translator to find out which language was needed for my reply. Your patience with answering some of the comments (eg those who demand, rather than use, "Please can you..?" or who ask for information you gave in the video) is amazing! 🤗

Don't apologise. Thank you so much for this video. I tried buying from overseas and found it to be missing something. Just wasn't what I was looking for. I will give this a go as well since my art is missing out on these lovely colours and mixtures. I love how in depth you are with your findings. I'm not chemistry minded but when someone takes the time like you have to explain how to mix things, I feel that much more confident in trying. I'd rather do it this way than pay for an expensive waste of money and my time. You're a great hero to us artists. Thank you ever so much.

what is the purpose of mulling the pigments? i'm genuinely curious

Oh my I love mica pigments! Al types of metallic pigments but I have difficulty finding places to buy them in any quantities that you have. Where do you buy your metallic mica pigments I would really appreciate any help you can help. I love this video it was very inspiring and yes I watch it right to the end. Have a wonderful day.
