  • Hello lovelies !
    Here's my first ever ASMR video of making this Mild Scarlet Red watercolor. I wanted to share this little part of my day, when I sit to relax and make some watercolors for myself.
    In this video I have used a mix of Brick Red, Titanium white and Ultramarine blue to make this color. There are endless colors you can make with just a few pigment powders.
    Also, do let me know if you'd like to see the making of Colorshift Watercolors.
    Below is a small playlist I have composed for all the paint making related videos.
    • How to make Metallic W...
    For my next video, I am planning on doing a Q&A session for all your queries related to paint making. Probably that video would help you with more insights to the journey of making these lovely watercolors. Feel free to drop your questions and concerns below in the comments and I would ensure it's taken care ❤️✨
    I have been making metallic watercolors for a while and selling them across the EU countries. Lately I've been experimenting and doing some research on making Matte Watercolors.
    I hope you find watching this therapeutic and have making your own favorite watercolors.

    I love how you’ve come up with sharing this knowledge❤️ May I ask approx how long we should mull?!

    • @crafterine
      @crafterine  2 года назад +1

      That varies for each pigment. Some of them can be mulled in 30 mins and some stubborn pigments take 2 hours too

    If you haven't already can you try this with acrylic base? I'm just curious if it'd work. Not as a water color but as a diy acrylic paint

    • @crafterine
      @crafterine  3 года назад

      I would like to try it someday. But probably not right away. Acrylic binder is definitely an investment, I believe you don't need honey or glycerin, you can much the pigment into the binder

    Is it possible to make glitter/metallic watercolor with eyeshadow and binder? Also how long does the drying process for the handmade watercolors take?

    • @crafterine
      @crafterine  3 года назад +4

      Yes. It is possible. You can scrape it out of the palette, grind it and use your binder. However, when I tried this, it wasn't pigmented enough, it was looking more like a student grade watercolor to me. It may be due to the additives that are already present in it. I would always recommend to purchase tiny 5g sachets on Mica powder to do a test drive ☺️.
      The drying time varies and it's directly proportional to the honey (or any other humectant) you add in your binder. For the amount of honey I add, it takes approximately 2 weeks to get a half pan completely dry and ready

      I purchase pigments from Kremers, Arteza, PearlEx and from Amazon too. I pick my favorite colors and make them. To find good ones, it all comes down to experiment and research. Try pigments from different brands to see which works for you ❤️.... I'm so happy to hear that I inspired you too. It's a really fun journey to making your own Watercolors. All the best 😁

    I also made watercolor! But I wonder how it feels like when it’s dry? Is it dry or a bit soft?
    And how long it take to completely dry? Because mine is one to two weeks!

    • @crafterine
      @crafterine  2 года назад +2

      That's lovely! It feels dry and hard after they set completely. If it's soft and spongy, it needs more time to dry. Filling pans in thin and smaller layers helps dry faster and gives a lesser percentage of air bubbles in them

    how long do you have to mull it?

    • @crafterine
      @crafterine  3 года назад +1

      That's a really good question. It totally depends on the pigment and binder. Some take as long as 2-3 hours while some pigments are easy to work with and take about 30-40 mins.
