How to Make Cherry Pit Syrup Simple and Delicious
Cherry pits are a byproduct of the cherry season that can be put to good use making a tasty syrup. This syrup is super simple to make. It last about 3 weeks in the refrigerator. It can be frozen or canned too. I’m at sea level and processed mine in a water bath for 10 minutes. Higher elevations will require longer canning times.
Recipe
1/2 cup cherry pits
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
I used 6 cups cherries
12 cups sugar
12 cups water

    I wouldn’t use these traps because when the gopher sets them off it gets them in the gut and the sharp things don’t kill then the gophers just sit there while the trap strangles them from the waist if you want to kill them buy the victor ez set traps they are shorter and will get the gopher in the neck or head resulting in a quick death

    Loved this.. ♥️ I can’t hurt ANYTHING … I WISH they wouldn’t eat my strawberries though 🙄☺️ I love how they chew thru my compost … I have learned to live happily WITH them …( except for my strawberries ) …which THIS YEAR I am trying something ..I have cut up onions and placed them around the top of my “potted” strawberries.. and SO FAR I feel like it’s a success …at least many of the strawberries are managing to make it thru their journey and become RIPE … PAST 2 years they were eaten when still white 🤦‍♀️😅🇨🇦

    • @beesandseeds

      I’m not sure. If less sugar is used, I’d pressure cook it to make sure it’s safe to eat since zucchini isn’t acidic but the pressure canning may turn it to mush

    • @beesandseeds

      We have heavy clay soil that is easily water logged when it rains. Just the little bit of deeper soil makes a difference here. In my big garden, I make a long hill for my carrots. That way I can keep them in the garden until around February and just pull as needed. The ground around them has standing water but they’re high and dry. Every backyard is different.

    That's crazy! They just look like shavings or something. I keep saying I need to raise some for my quail. It's amazing how many there are. Do they need cool temps to live? I don't do vermicomposting because it's too hot and I want to do it on my screen porch where the cats won't get into them.

    • @beesandseeds
      @beesandseeds 14 дней назад

      They like it between 70-80. Those are the temps when the temps are just perfect. Tbey can tolerate up to 100 but it may negatively impact them. They don’t like to get too cold ether. I try to keep them above 50. Each one can lay up to 500 eggs so they do reproduce well.
